Do Mods in GT5 really Represent real world mods?

I play the game day in and day out, and when you put that much time into the game you come to think, "Hmm If i supercharged an evora, would it be comparable to the Evora S?"
Has anyone else thought up things like this, there are many scenarios in the game that could happen, If you mod the viper to specs, how does it compare to the hennesy Viper (venom)? or. If you if you supercharge and do other mods to a 2007 mustang, to 540HP, how does it compare to what a shelby GT500 of that year can do (even though it has 800cc less) Just a thought 👍

The modding in GT5 is far from real world capabilities. The '85 RX-7 in this game barely hits 500HP fully modded but my GF's RX-7 (same year but a slightly crappier model then the one in-game) is in the mid 500's & does 200MPH down the highway with ease.

It's not accurate at all and very dumbed down and basic. The tuning in GT5 is really more of a loose interpretation of what can be done. It's a fictional system with it's core ideas taken from the real world.

Yeah, she has been to jail for putting a cop car into a telephone pole.

PS. Her RX-7 has a aftermarket 6-speed in it. That's why it can do 200MPH

even worse that I couldn't actually fit a supercharger in the evora to make it evora S :yuck:

Did it have a cool "aftermarket" speedometer that had a "K" where "M" should have been?

Im sorry but theres no way 500hp is pushing the blocky RX7 chassis to 200. Maybe 800hp, maybe.

Haters gonna hate. We live in America. We use REAL speed measurements. MPH all the way.

Here's another one to hate on. My sis has a heavily modified Geo Metro that does 170MPH in 6th.

Trolling doesn't work when the things you say are in no way fathomable.

I don´t tune my cars further than sport softs, weight reduccion #1, and in some cases an exhaust, if it fixes the sound of the car.

But according to tunners, a Supra should reach around 1000HP still with the stock block. (Modifying a fine car like the Supra to those limits is rediculous, imho. 380hp is more than enough for a car that type.)

But the point is that GT5 is maybe too conservative in this aspect, since just by curiosity I tried to modify the Supra and it reached around 550hp only, which is half of is full potential.

Yeah. And the government as a car that runs on water. It has a fiberglass air-cooled engine and it runs on water, man.

I modified a CR-Z to match the specs exactly of the CR-Z Mugen concept.

Of course, I don't know how the concept drives in real life... :irked:

Yeah, but does its turbo look like this?

Were you trying to get max hp out of your effort? If so, you still have at least another 165 hp to gain.

Another one: the Chevrolet SSR (5.3liter LS-type V8) tunes up to 690-700hp in the game. Hot Rod Magazine, using boost, got a 4.8liter LS-type V8 to push something like 1200 horsepower with stock internals - I'm not saying it would have been drivable, but the potential is there. Think how much more a 5.3 could do.

No, you live in America and think you use real speed measurements. Sadly, mile is not listed in the International System of Units, and the kilometer is.

I thought this was a thread about GT5 and not on which speed measurement is cooler than the other?..ANYWAYS..In my opinion all of the mods in GT5 represent real world mods obviously, but not in power and tuning wise.

 Oh god...

The chassis adjustments are very primitive but do a pretty good job simulating traction loss, oversteer, and understeer. Minus the ability to Adjust Air Pressure!!!

There are too many cars in the game for them to get the tuning numbers realistic with everything else that is involved with developing the game. The system works well for what it is, but isnt a good representation of real life. If GT5 had much less cars they could get it much more accurate.

We use MPH in britain too, KPH always fries my brain, hated it in the old GT games that didnt have MPH, it is easy to convert but I think the point is that I have to convert it before my brain can understand the speed.

I can't just accept 100KPH, I understand it by knowing that 100KPH is 62MPH. It's like another language!

I'm quite shocked that they dumbed down the tuning options and horsepower numbers. This IS the "real driving simulator", but whatever, not trying to start an argument. Also what's with not being able to turbo an NSX?? If I'm not mistaken there was a turbo'd NSX on one of the F&F movies! What gives? It's no wonder it gets owned by even a fully tuned Civic! Pathetic, PD.

I'm sure you can get a 1000hp supra or a 500hp Civic.

But I doubt it would last (in real life) any more than a few corners of a circuit, before self destructing. Or in GT5 terms, you'd had to rebuild the engine every 20km.

GT5's tuning is fine as it's only a game.
