Do you cut corners and/or chicanes at Sarthe?

I'm doing the 24H @ Sarthe for the second time in A-Spec. I'm using the 787B and the first time I used the 908HDi. I was wondering if I should be proud of my recently set 40 hour lap record of 3:06.0xx, even though I like to cut the chicanes and the sweeper before Mulsanne. :x

Never done a A-Spec endurance in GT5
I have more fun doing the corners tbh . Online I cut them like everyone soo I don't increase the gap between 1st place ...

Soo don't cut them.

I don't cut corners at all, even online. If the people you're racing with are cutting corners, then you haven't found the right drivers to be racing with.

I only cut corners in 2 situations:

1. If I'm in a-spec and something happens where I fall way behind the leader (ex: crash or accidental pit stop)

2. If I'm in an online race without penalties and I see everyone cutting the chicanes.

Other then that, I stay on track like most people.

Cutters get cut.

Just sayin.

The only time I cut was back during the Ferrari seasonal, that was also the only time I raced a road car on RS tires.

I only cut in one circumstance, dirty shuffle online where if you don't cut you're so far back. (ok, maybe on the Ferrari Le Sarthe seasonal too, but I was grinding:lol:)

Exactly. Never cut, never will.

I don't cut corners.....at all.

I dunno if any of you watched the TV coverage of Le Mans, but the real drivers usually cut the Ford Chicane rather aggressively. However, I don't use that as any excuse for me to cut (any corner) in the game.

Nope. Unless I have SEVERELY bad understeer (example: no steering going on). Online I never allow it. If i host a game it's no red-bull or f1 an clean or kick racing, some just don't know how to drive so they feel the need to "make up time" from their bad driving.

But I do apex hop. A lot.

I did notice that when watching it, give or take half the car would be over the rumbles strip almost to the point where 3 tires would sometimes be off track.

If I cut its by accident or to avoid another driver who has wrecked

I usually do free runs offline, so I don't cut corners (though I often accidentally cut the first chicane and get my lap invalidated :ouch:)

Online, it depends on what the others are doing, and if they start gaining any advantage, only then do I resort to deliberately cutting corners :guilty:

Nope. What's the point... that's not racing.

Surely the whole point of racing is to gain an advantage anyway?

For me, I like to use rumble strips excessively and push my car to the extreme to try and get the best cornering scenarios. But I never cut, unless it's a dirty shuffle room (which I never go into O.o).

Zut Alors, Non!

That said, I drive to all tyres inside the white lines - which has long since fallen by the wayside along with driving with bow ties and rolled up shirt sleeves.

However - GT5 is just a game - YOU can choose to cheat or you can play it to a higher standard.

I don't cut corners.
Of I'm in a romm where everybody cuts corners, I'll leave

I don't cut corners online or offline. It looks cleaner and is better if you just take the time to break and corner.

I do...

When racing the no chicane layout ;)

The only time I've ever cut corners at Le Sarthe is the PDA 4WD seasonal, where I made my Lancia so slow that its mandatory. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to get as many credits as I do from it. But that's the only time

A-Spec: cut
B-Spec: cut (I wish)
Free run: no cutting
Online: no cutting unless allowed by the host (though I'd probably leave the room)
Online in a room I host: absolutely no cutting in a serious room, cheat and you're kicked

I don't cut offline. However, if I am online, I will if others are doing it or I am so far back (which happens almost every race :() that it doesn't matter if I do or not. If I host a room, it depends on what type of room it is.
