NICE one there mate!!!

There is this nifty little invention called "twist ties" you know, the ones that come with your garbage bags.

USE THEM!!!

Get off your lazy ass and do it!!! I know that your just sittin there at your comp. thinkin about doin it, but that 3rd beer is tasting really good right about now.

Put down the beer, get some twist ties and then tell your woman that you have a project for her to do.

These clips boombexus speaks of usually can be found in your average computer shop. In some cases it can improve performance as it saved my speakers from certain destruction.

You wonna see wires? Try building a recording studio  Organizing your cables IS A MUST! If you can, you can get some decorative molding that's self adhesive to route many of the wires if twist ties are just out of the budget. If nothing else, try some duck tape, tiewire, anything. :D

Good Luck to ya...

LOL, they actually make "Duck" tape, but yes it is silver duct tape. :)

Why would ducks need taping? I thought they were waterproof.

 Sorry.

I'm a big fan of twist ties. The back of my PC's not that bad (it's worth spending money on a decent PC desk), but the stereo's always a bit a problem area for this especially with surround sound. Twist ties, and also looping up excess cable so it's out of the way.

But why the hell do they make cords up to 3 metres long if its only meant to go about a 1/6th of that length at the most???

Laptops suck.

They cost way too much - heaps more expensive then a desktop computer. You can't get parts as good as a PC; example: the biggest hard drive you can for a lappy is 60-80GB. The biggest HD you can get on a PC in around 160GB. And one more thing, parts for laptops cost a fortune. My old man spilled coffee on his laptop keyboard and it cost him nearly $200 to get a new one.

I'd rather have the hassel of tieing the cords together with twist ties or taping them to your computer table with electrical tape than cough up huge amounts of dollars.

Just my :2cents: worth.

yeh ok :) I bought one so when my family goes on holidays i can take it with me :) I know they're not as fast either but when you compare the size of the thing it's amazing how they fit it all into the little 15x15 inch block. my :2cents:

I find it helps if you really think about your PC install before doing it. Plan where all the cables are going to go, and then plug them in in the right order, so your monitor cable isn't resting on your mouse cable, for example. Also, if you're in a study, balance all the devices across all your power points, so that you keep an even load in each wall socket, and your power adaptors are within tolerance. It really is something that's worth thinking about properly.

As is the surround thing. I'm going to install some ducting in our living room one of these days!
