Do you play with racing line on or off?

I've never used it and don't wish to. I started on GT3 and as far as I can recall that didn't have driving line.

Off. Over the years I have found it is not the best line. With it on I tended to follow it and not watch the track.

Good for learning though, and I used for the night Lamborghini seasonal.

The computer generated 'racing line' is not always the fastest line through a corner.

Switch it off and find the lines you are happiest with. Nothing that each corner is different depending on how close you are to others.

I run with it on in the main.

I know it isnt always the best line/breaking points etc, but I use it as a referance point.

Once im very happy with a car / track combo I will try it again with the line off...

Used it for about the first week i had the game. It certainly helps a lot, helped me memorize the lines and such.

I used it in the beginning for a while, but then turned it off.

Will turn it on for an online custom track for practice, then off for the race.

I could never drive with one of those. Makes it seem unrealistic looking to me and it's a distraction. The GT driving line is a lot more natural looking than the crazy Forza arrows though.

I currently play with it on, but I have turned off all aids apart from the line. I am considering turning off the racing line. What do you think?

That would be good for you to turn off the racing line after you get used to the track in several trial runs, so as to learn further about what that track is really like(its ups and downs and so on) and reconfirm whether you have remembered the layout completely or not.

I use it on for my online public lobbies as some idiot doesn't know when to brake properly and for split screen arcade as all my friends are noobs at GT5.

I keep it off for testing, nascar, online leagues and everything else.

I don't use the line. It messes me up more than anything else. All i need its the suggested gear change number for the corners.

I usually turn it off after the 2nd lap on any track.
I only ever turn it on when it gets dark at a track with poor/no lighting (eg. Mt Aso) & the headlights on the car I`m driving (which is most of them) are total crap, meaning you can`t actually see the track & have to guess where it goes by looking at the sillouettes of the trees.

It also makes some of the Mt Aso variations at night a hell of alot easier to drive quickly, as some of the bends have arrow boards, but the tighter, near 90* corners that turn the opposite way, mere meters after the signed bends have no markings or even barriers in some cases, so it`s impossible to even know where the track goes in the dark without the line.

If they made the headlights main beam actually light up the road ahead, instead of lighting up the scenery about 1 meter off the ground, this would help negate the need to use the line, as you could see far enough ahead to know exactly where the track goes.
