I do it occasionally not as a daily thing due to its my daily driver and I cant afford to replace tires weekly. I have a 1990 thunderbird with the supercharged v-6. I havent done it in about a month and a half because my balljoints and control arms are going bad and I'm replacing them a.s.a.p so I can continue doing my wreckless driving in the car on weekends.

Cool. A thread about illegally endangering other drivers and pedestrians, little kids and old ladies, etc. Yeah. Nothing like breaking traction on the public roads.

Idiots.

Ah. . . you mean the "Do You Care for the Safety of Others! Thread"

Hosers, leave at once!

Yea that right endangering people but im sorry i must have said that wrong. I dont mean street roads i mean like a designated area. But nor do i really care where the hell u drift just as long as u do or not an i take iy you dont.?

I dont drift at all I just want to know if people do and what their using, you know just for some ideas incase any are in gt3/4 when it comes out.

Hostility already, damn.

Well, I drift in real life, but you have to have been a member for a while to know the stories behind that (Narishma, Bryan C, Ryen49) hahahahaha, oh and I can't forget about SilviaDrifter, he knows about my real life drifting endevors. Pretty much everyone whose been around since october of last year knows.

But yes, I drift in real life. Not on public streets, that's dangerous and stupid, anyone who does that should be hung by their scrotum with plastic, jagged staples.

I got my 86 SR5 sideways on a dirt road the other day, does that count? but ya know, with 80hp under the hood, how the hell else ya gonna get sideways, lol. I wanna drift irl, but I gotta build my car up before I can. I know SD and a bunch of others are dying to see me get sideways for real.

 like that idiot in the Corolla!

Anyways, no... I don't really feel like killing myself or getting a really big bill to pay plus the fact that anytime I push my car I'm endangering my rubber band that powers my car.

Edit: not to mention I'd be considered an ass dragger too... :banghead:

I know you did not just call me "the idiot in the corolla" You bout to get a Bryan style smack bottom.

i do. my name says it all, i drive a 1995 240sx with a rb25det swap, more than that put into though, but not going to list it all.

 Bryan for yours and my sake I hope that you weren't the idiot in that corolla vid clip trying to drift in the rain... If that was you well... I don't think I have to say much?

I drive an AE86 hatchback in real life. I only drift on streets if it's wet or snowing, and I don't do blind corners unless it's a controlled street course (no traffic). Since I live in Washington, it rains about 2/3 of the year, so that equates to a lot of drifting, but I don't condone typical street drifting. Everyone I've gone drifting with so far, the first time I end up just outright leaving because they're being stupid. The only way I seem to be able to prove my point, just gotta let them know I don't roll like that.

I don't push my limits, most people I've met who are learning to drift haven't learned that kind of control yet. They just do it rally-style- floor it and work from there. That style of reckless driving causes accidents especially on-road. Why do you think most rallies have about 1/3 DNF's? I've been driving 7 years and never caused an accident involving other cars, only started drifting 1 year ago and I've been itching to for a while. It has nothing to do with skill either, I just go out of my way to make sure that the worst possible scenario is damaging my own car by hitting a curb or barrier. Crashes are inevitable, so you might as well be careful. It may be hard at the time to show restraint, but eventually you don't even have to think about it, it just happens naturally.

same with pergatory, it does rain alot in washington and we regulars like pergatory dont do dumb stuff to endanger the lives of others by drifting in uncontrolled environments, yes i drift, but not with the AE86, i drive an Kouki S14 as a regular drift car, suspension set up is stock. But you really dont need to modify anything in order to drift. its all car control.

oooooo, THAT idiot in the corolla..... actually, I have no idea what you are talking about, how about a link?

Hmmm... I don't remember where the vid was but I think it was appropiately called "how not to drift".

I own an S13 SR20DET 180sx. I have tried drifting once on a race track. I hit a concrete wall.

It cost $3,000AUD to fix.
I think i'll stick to GT3 from now on.

Is it the one where the guy smashes his car into the curb... while sideways... About three years ago it wasnt called how not to drift but something not quite to enlightening...

Well, I drift and I don't Drift. I drift with my motorbike, practising motocross, but I don't drift in the road with a car (I need a few more years, but I like try drift). But I am used to drift in motocross, and do drift with my motorbike is very COOL, I really like the turns and the brakes in a course. If you don't consider drift with a motorbike is ok for me, but I consider drift with motorbike practising any types of cross, because it isn't very different.

Sweet!!! Another Washingtonian!!! I thought me an Perg were the only WA folks. Plus you have my dream car (check sig for proof). When I get my Silvia, we should get together and drift....... safely.............
I'm planning on purchasing either an RPS13, or an S13 coupe. I would love to own an S14, but I can't afford one right now..... Someday i will........ However, i think the smaller Silvias will suit me just fine IMHO.......... Do you have any7 pics of your S14? I would love to add them to my huge!!! S14 pic collection........

S13 and 180sx are different chassis right? Also didn't the 180sx come with the CA18DET? Just trying to get my facts straight.

No I dont drift, I drag race (at the track).

The 180 and s13 share a chasis, that's why the parts are almost perfectly matched up to swap out. And yes the CA was one of the engine options available with the 180, you could also get an SR20 red or black top. Don't foget the CA was also an option in all 3 generations of Silvia.

Yes the CA was an option in Japan, but the RPS13's (240SX Hatch) over here in the states, got the KA's. and nothing else. However, the KA is a lot more tuneable, than most people realize......
