Do you think Gran Turismo would be better if developed for the PC?

Yes but you played it on your PC or your PS3? And at what detail settings on your PC... and even then as pointed out, Shift is a console port, and not one that is going to receive much attention.

I appreciate everybody's input and posts here seems to me full of meaning and interesting, but looks like some authorities think this discussion went into the wrong direction.

Maybe we'll wait until this authorities point us into the righteous path

This has gone into a PS3 vs PC contest, the original question was answered about 80 times. As for you people arguing that PS3 games look the best, sorry but you're simply wrong, its not an opinion, its stats and numbers and thats that.

If i had you in a room and did an A/B with my PS3 and my PC i'm pretty sure i could silence about 99% of the PS3 fanboys. Its cool to enjoy your console, i do to. But to be naive and ignorant about it is just a lack of intelligence and a need to argue just for the sake of it.

Its just pathetic to be honest. you're trying to argue black is blue.

Maybe my memory has become clouded over the years but i seem to vaguely recollect a story where PD said they were (or would) consider putting GT on the pc for the chinese market where console piracy is rampant.

It was a while ago so i cant recollect all the details but maybe someone else remembers and can ellaborate a little.

Try comparing the same game!! GT5 looking better than Shift has nothing to do with PC vs. PS3, it just means that Shift is not as good looking. At least compare Shift on the the PC vs Shift on the PS3....dumbass

It would take a ridiculously expensive PC to realize Kaz's vision. Probably about 5K. PC graphics aren't too much better looking then PS3, actually Crisis is the only PC game that looks better then Killzone 2 witch is a PS3 game. Todays CPU's still aren't much faster then the PS3's and most have even less cores. This is why you wont see PS4 for a while, technology hasn't improved much since PS3 launched 4 years ago.

This is not true, even graphic cards unveiled in times when PS3 was new (nVidia 8800GT) would be comfortably capable to render game in full 1080p resolution, 16xAA and with butter smooth shadows. Now with things like nVidia 580GTX with 1GB memory GT5 would be marvelous, every single blade of grass or grain of sand in rendered scene could be geometric.

But this is not the only problem with GT5, in past six years they just haven't enough resources to prepare all those tracks and cars in today GT5 quality (look at Laguna Seca, Trial Mountain or some standard cars, some great tracks were completely omitted to GT5) and with better technology this problem would be yet much worse.

This. I'm primarily a console gamer, and the PS3 is capable of some incredible stuff, but if you have a powerful PC (or Mac with Bootcamp, like me (cough)) the stuff they can do with games that the PS3 can't handle is insane sometimes.

Also, as an aside, if GT5 were on PC too, there would be no reason why PC and PS3 gamers couldn't play together. Microsoft did a study to see what would happen if you let console and PC gamers play against each other in a first person shooter, and, shockingly, the PC gamers totally destroyed the console gamers because of the precision a mouse allows, but if everyone were using a wheel, that wouldn't be a problem. I wonder why they don't do this already, and with 360 gamers too (obviously I mean on multiplatform racers, not GT or Forza). I guess there's a reason.
