I feel like I'm the only one who lost interest in Rusev.

The whole getting rid of his past stuff has only left him being another generic unstoppable monster heel when Raw already has 2. We already Alpha Academy getting beat up by Gunther a few months ago, add something to it.

The whole Russia military stuff and Rusev Day gave Rusev character on top of his monster status, its what made Rusev more compelling.

GODDAMNIT TONY KHAN LET PAUL HAVE A SHOT SOMETIME AT HIRING FREE AGENTS

Im pretty sure Paul is constantly being told no by TKO to even try

More pushing part timers and bloodline members for him.

I have just seen this weeks NXT, it seems like WWE have started a trend of picking unlikely winners of battle royales. They a 25 man one on the show where the winner would face Oba for the NXT title at Battleground in a few weeks and it was won by Myles Bourne, someone who is part of a faction called No Quarter Catch Crew and barely has any TV time. This comes after Jey Uso won the Royal Rumble this year.

Jordynne Grace beat Giulia to face Stephanie Vaquer for the women's title and the TNA title will be on the line for the first time in WWE when Joe Hendry defends against Trick Williams.

Also Elijah made an appearance, he is obviously Elias and Ezekiel's brother ;) someone should tell Kevin Owens!

Here is the card for WWE Backlash tomorrow.

Women's Intercontinental Championship.
Lyra Valkryia (c) v Becky Lynch

Intercontinental Championship.
Dominik Mysterio (c) v Penta

Pat McAfee v Gunther

United States Championship-Fatal Four Way Match.
Jacob Fatu (c) v LA Knight v Drew McIntyre v Damien Priest

Undisputed WWE Championship.
John Cena (c) v Randy Orton

Only the five matches but that has become the norm under Triple H lately, could be another match made for the show on Smackdown tonight. WrestleMania was only three weeks ago but we had a long wait between Elimination Chamber and Mania so I think the PLE's will be coming think and fast now.

On Smackdown tonight will be a John Cena appearance, Jade Cargill v Nia Jax in a number one contenders match, Aleister Black v Carmelo Hayes and a tag team match between LA Knight, Damien Priest, Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

Love it when former factions go off to success across multiple promotions 😍

(if we include trios belts, Miyu Amasaki as well. Now I'm gonna be manifesting Lady C finally winning a belt)

Gunther vs Pat Mcafee highlights my problem with the unwritten rule of fans and writers that tapping out by a face is considered a burial and a weakness nowadays (when before tapping out just meant the submission was THAT painful).

Hilarious that Gunther tapped out at Wrestlemania but Pat Mcafee didn't

That's funny, I watched the show and I don't recall Gunther tapping out.

The show was good and easy to watch, no title changes with all the champs retaining but in terms of in ring action and match quality the show absolutely delivered.

Lyra Valkryia v Becky Lynch was my match of the night and my MVP was Pat McAfee who took all the big hits from Gunther and still got back up, Gunther passed him out at the end. I didn't enjoy the Cena-Orton match so much as I'm getting bored of the ref bumps and shenanigans, we saw enough of that during Roman's title reign so we don't need to see it again, Randy Orton RKO'ing all the officials was fun though!

Cena gave a promo when the show went off air and the crowd chanted 'thank you Cena' as he left and he seemed emotional. He attacked R-Truth in the press conference and Cena v Truth is on the cards.

Drew McIntyre took a hard bump when he head missed the table and hit the floor during the south of heaven shot with Damien Priest, he was evaluated by medical staff but apparently he is okay.

Typing is hard

I don't care if Truth has no chance of actually beating Cena. I want to believe! Even if the title reign is for 5 seconds.

There is a Saturday Night Main Event show in a couple of weeks, my guess is that Cena v Truth will be on it but it won't be for the title, Jey Uso v Logan Paul for the world title has been made for the show.

Totally forgot that Jeff Cobb debuted last night!

On Raw tonight.

CM Punk appearance
Jey Uso appearance
AJ Styles v Finn Balor
Rhea Ripley & IYO Sky v Giulia & Roxanne Perez
Penta v Chad Gable
War Raiders v The Creed Bros

There will probably be some sort of tribute to Sabu as well.

I bet money that the John Cena vs. Randy Orton match was an attraction for the crowd. And just found out that Sabu passed away on Sunday.

R.I.P. my brother. You were a brave fighter man.

Jim Ross has announced that he has colon cancer and is having treatment, wishing him the absolute best in his recovery.

Nothing much announced for Smackdown tonight other than MITB qualifying matches are starting.

Apologies for the double post but Smackdown matches have been announced.

Chelsea Green v Alexa Bliss v Michin-MITB qualifier.
Jimmy Uso v Rey Fenix v Solo Sikoa-MITB qualifier.
Tiffany Stratton v Nia Jax-WWE women's title match.

I wish Jim Ross the best during this hard time. Any type of cancer is a mess to have. Those are some new wrestlers that I've never heard of before. I know most of the ones from back during WWE (2002-2013). The Undertaker, for one. A legend.

John Cena v R-Truth and a steel cage match between Damien Priest and Drew McIntyre has been made for Saturday Night's Main Event next Saturday.

Alexa Bliss and Solo Sikoa have both qualified for their respective MITB ladder matches, Jeff Cobb had he first WWE match last night, he wrestled under the name JC Mateo and he beat LA Knight.

Yeah it was horrible and she had to be carried to the back, wishing her a speedy recovery.

In minor wrestling drama that's nevertheless a terrible look, Rossy Ogawa not being weird and bodyshaming talent who work for him challenge (impossible).

For reference, Utami:

Another brutal one was an interview he did with VICE about a decade ago where he...checks notes...criticized a 13/14 year old AZM for....checks notes again to paraphrase..."being a kid with an adult face"

Zoey tweeted out last night that she is doing okay and and she said thanks for the messages and well wishes, still don't know the extent of her injury though.

Pretty big weekend for WWE with Saturday Night's Main Event and NXT Battleground on Sunday. I'll post the card for both tomorrow but SNME is not a WWE PLE, its just a regular two-hour show that's only really for American viewers, its only available to overseas viewers on their YouTube channel.

A little bit of a sudden change.
Hopefully it's just getting Indy's contractually agreed-upon Mania out of the way (non-zero chance it's the rumored Saudi Arabia Mania)

Its actually been rumored since then that it will be held in Vegas again next year, back in the Allegiant Stadium in back to back years.

No idea what's going on here.

Unfortunately, some creeps will not be satisfied with seeing anything but flawlessness, and even then it's completely subjective to what they like. Just tells me what he looks at is appearance first and actual wrestling later...and yet, of course, he has plenty devoted to him and his opinions.

If I had to guess, money, attention, convenient for TKO execs (apparently a lot live in the LV area.) and with the age of the Superdome, amenities and luxuries are probably better too.

So here is all the WWE stuff happening this weekend.

Smackdown-Tonight.

Street Profits v Fraxiom-WWE tag title match.
Giulia v Charlotte Flair v Zelina Vega-MITB qualifier
Aleister Black v LA Knight v Shinsuke Nakamura-MITB qualifier

---------------------------------------------------------

Saturday Night's Main Event-Tomorrow night.

John Cena v R-Truth

Steel Cage Match.
Damien Priest v Drew McIntyre

Sami Zayn & CM Punk v Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker

WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Jey Uso (c) v Logan Paul

--------------------------------------------------------------

NXT Battleground-Sunday night.

Hank Walker, Tank Ledger & Josh Briggs v The Culling

Tony D'Angelo v Channing 'Stacks' Lorenzo

NXT Women's North American Championship.
Sol Ruca (c) v Kelani Jordan

NXT Women's Championship.
Stephanie Vaquer (c) v Jordynne Grace

TNA World Championship.
Joe Hendry (c) v Trick Williams

NXT Championship.
Oba Femi (c) v Myles Borne

Only four matches made for SNME but another could be made on Smackdown tonight, NXT card looks good.

Bronson Reed returned last night at SNME and he took out CM Punk and helped Rollins and Breakker beat Punk and Zayn, Reed has aligned with Rollins and Breakker and is the third guy in that faction. Cody Rhodes also returned to help Jey Uso when he was getting beat by John Cena in the main event, Uso ended up defending his title against Logan Paul and its seemingly set up a tag match between the four at Money In The Bank.

The show went as expected with all champs retaining their titles, Cena v Truth only lasted a few minutes but Truth came out to Cena's music and he looked more like Cena then Cena did! Damien Priest beat Drew McIntyre with a con-chair-to and walked out of the cage to win, Jesse Ventura was on comms for the match and he hated it! Its been confirmed since the match that Drew will be taking some time off.

WWE finally confirmed that Evolution would be returning, the all female PLE will take place on Sunday July 13th with NXT Great American Bash taking place on the Saturday.

First match for Worlds Collide announced on RAW.

Funny thing here though, is by announcing the match as for the title, WWE has accidentally spoiled the result of Alberto El Patron's (🤮) upcoming defense of the AAA Mega Championship on Saturday.

Seems like the deal is gonna get Alberto out due to complications he caused back in 2017 with the whole Paige thing and then the accusations later (though iirc he has been considered innocent of the latter under lack of evidence)
