Does the anticipation of the next update demonstrate overall dissapointment in GT5?

Btw PD was the first dev to get devolpment kits for PS3!

The exact same cars and tracks look worse in GT5 than Prologue!

GTHD 1920 x 1080

GT5p 1440 x 1080

GT5 1280 x 1080!!!
They scrapped GT HD, totally new everything from there on out. Physics and everything.

It's just missing seasonal multiplayer head to head races. Once those are in, it'll be great. I can't wait for official multiplayer games. All the people who get rammed are going to be soooooo pissed. It'll be so r o f l.

Please take a look at the figures this poll created: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=173677

Note that this is on a GT5 fan forum. Less than 40% of voters are fully satisfied with the game. More than 60% have either stopped playing, only play it once in a while or are beginning to feel bored with it. And this was roughly three months after release, when the game was still fresh.
Feb. 08 was around the last time people cared about that thread. Have you seen the new polls?

Measured by earlier Gran Turismo titles, "the majority still plays it" after three months is a pretty poor result. This franchise has always kept people hooked for months, even years. GT5 is the first full title where acceptance either was denied on release or dropped significantly when it became apparent that the biggest part of the A-spec portion of the game can be finished within a very short period of time.

EDIT: I've made myself very rare on the forums lately, and I'm just beginning to remember why. I'm dropping out of this "conversation", because I have better things to do on my weekend than waste my time on people who are opposing to something either for the sake of doing so, for wearing blinkers or just being the way people are on internet forums. @Toronado: good luck!

That's what I don't understand. GT HD isn't anything anymore. They clicked delete.
Do you understand how stupid it would be to do that? Develop a large amount of content, then throw it all out, then recreate it again (since everything that was in GT:HD was in Prologue and GT5)?

It's the idea that's ur just using words for the sake of words no argument there either.
Oh boy, you sure showed me.

Granted, I took the time to explain my point and you basically responded with "nuh uh," but damn, I guess I can't argue with that kind of hard-hitting logic.

Also, almost no PS3 games are truly 1080p. The graphics are really rendered at lower resolutions with a little AA and scaled to 1080/720p. If PS3 could truly handle 1080p, it would look waaaaay better. also, GT5 never runs close to 60fps at 1080p. and it doesn't even matter, at least with a controller, since you can't make sudden movements with the gas and brakes anyways... It's all smoothed out and slow.

Whatever, though. It's not unplayable either. It's good enough.

I agree with this Thread so much the game is a big flop 6 years for what a game that has less then even the first installment its sad I was hoping for a top notch game that had more stuff the GT2 since it is on a 80GB bluray disc but no what happened to special events and why do cars cost so damn much I remember a 2million dollar car was the most expensive and to get it it took to 4 races to collect 4 TVR speed 12's that were worth $500000 now you get cars and you cant sale because there either worth jack **** or you don't even get money at all

I know this is totally not comparable, but bfbc2 has that awe, and you just can't stop playing it completely, i still play it at least once a week and i have had it for all most a year. Anyways, i heard somewhere (i don't remember where) something about snea stopped updates when psn went down but a few games got around that and were able to have updates, i vaguely remember hearing this so i don't know tbe whole story

How long did it take to develop the game?

It took about 5 years. But to put that in perspective, it also took the first Gran Turismo five years to be created. What that tells us that this is more or less the amount of time required to make a product at this level.

https://www.gtplanet.net/yamauchi-interview-reveals-more-on-gt5-development/

read more because a lot of you haven't researched anything about the game. I've reading into it for quite a while now because I have no responsibility at the moment. Knowledge is useful.

There you go again. Nothing but opinion.

Who ever said that they kept it? Learn to read into things.

It's been getting closer to 7 months since the release of GT5, and most people aren't even close to being done with GT5. It's a SIM. That's all people should care about, most of us think. How can people not understand that though?

But thanks for you're input, it was useful enough.

It's really plain and simple. The majority of the people feel like the game is missing quite a few features. For those who are use to the previous titles it seems stuff got left out. It's there in black and white.

That's what I don't understand. GT HD isn't anything anymore. They clicked delete.
You also said yourself that you downloaded the demo for GTHD and the leaderboards are still there. How could that be if they hit the delete key?

That is not the case. If it were where did Eiger come from then? I don't think they would model the track and then hit delete and make a new one for GT5P.

Programming wise they scrapped it. I just played GT HD's Eiger a few hours ago. The detail is sorry compared to GT5 and everything isn't the same. The thing it does better, is the 3D modeled spectators that look like they can jump in front of the cars.

BTW I wasn't trying to argue anything, but the Fact that the Majority do not know the process of creating a game... so just be understandable to the idea of what GT5 is, and to appreciate it. And if not that's fine by you, but don't try and belittle this guys creation that no other match up to.

Some guy had a great analogy...TheFlyingKiwi
"GT5 is like any supercar, brilliant but flawed, what's worth more."

What exactly was left out that the other full versions of GT had?

PRAISE HIIIIM! Kaz has said it before, he can't envision what the end product will be at the start of development. It's impossible. Programming isn't drawing in a blank paged book.

Where did you hear PD kept GT HD's work? They're not the same project.
Can you explain a reason why PD would make all of the stuff that they made for GT:HD, then throw it all out when the game got canceled, then remake it all again from scratch for Prologue?

Now you are using the word the troll... really.
Considering the way you've responded to everyone's attempt to discuss things with you, it seems perfectly appropriate.

lol opinion :P.

Ok Im just kidding but really. I've given my stance, and it has nothing to do with trollolollloing.

You also said the cars handled better didn't you? So physics wise was it better then? That's the way I read your post.

A bigger A-spec, and more tracks to name a couple.

No but this is the 5th one so you would think that more people would be happy.
