Does the Eclipse convertible top come down?

I've heard rumors that not all convertibles in GT4 will be able to be tooken down. Can anybody with the game confirm that the top on the new eclipse can or cant be taken down? 👍

All convertibles that are shown with the top up in the dealer/garage cannot be driven or photographed top down under any circumstances. Check with Amar212 for the status of the new eclipse.

Because the people who made the game didnt make an interior for it or model the driver animations , because they didnt feel it was an important enough car to have the top down. < : - \

I'll try to remember to check the drop-top Eclipse tonight in the Japanese version, but as it has the top up at the dealers I think it is a little unlikely.

I think you can take the tops down on most convertibles. I remember seeing a picture of the Triumph Spitfire with the teop down, and thats shown top up in the showroom.

I took a photo of the Spitfire in Photomode and it had the hardtop on it (check out my website in the GT4 section for Photomode).

Sorry to break it to you, but you probably won't. PD had the courtesy to fix the A-Spec/B-Spec issue with endurance races, but the convertibles probably wasn't as high on their list. It's funny how many people want this, and I never noticed the issue until somebody on the board mentioned it. Different strokes for different folks.

Honestly, I've kind of ignored the 3rd Gen Eclipse anyway, so I never noticed that the top could not be lowered.

They should have put the Eclipse GSX in rather than the 3rd-gen, IMO...

Completely agree, I dont know why they stopped production of those. The new ones just look way overstyled . Have you seen the 2006 eclipse? . And to clear it up, no I dont want to paint it purple and race a green evo . I just would of liked to see it in convertible form. (If anything, why the heck would they make a convertible version that dosent come down?? why not just make the hardtop...drrruhh

ive seen videos on the GT4 website with the 350z doing some laps with its top down, so maybe its possible the clipse will have it too

Yeah, but the difference is that the Z is a car that's actually worth a damn, so the creators took time to make interior textures for the car.

the reason why the Z has its top down is that the creator has 1 and thats probbly why he put in some time 2 make it a fairlady

I think the 350z/Fairlady has pointless detail, its cool to see a driver but the the gearchange is a bit too far when you realise you can only race one another 350z instead of a pack of other cars. I'm not sure if this is a taster or a limitation so i can't wait to play the full GT4 to see!
