In real life, does the Shelby Cobra come with a 6 speed manual or a gran turismo like 4 speed manual?

Considering it's a 1967 model in GT3, based on an even older car with a 7 litre V8 shoved in, I'd guess at a 4-speed.

However, I don't believe for a second that it tops out at 137mph, like in GT3. A Cobra allegedly reached 165mph on the M1 in England in 1969 - leading indirectly to a national speed limit of 70mph being enforced...

I don't doubt that the original had a 4-speed, but I'd be willing to bet they had different gear boxes you could order, so they could have a long ratio setup or a short one (even the McLaren F1 offered that).

Nowadays the replicas can come with almost anything really.

Most likely would had different differentials for ration changes.

The AC Shelby Cobra 427 had a 4 speed box, modern AC and AC Shelby Cobras can have 5 sped or 6 speed boxes. The 427's top speed was 165Mph, and Steeda the Cobra isn't from America.

Its from the good ol' United Kingdom. Let the british have some fun.

Original Shelby Cobras had Borg Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmissions.

Newer replicas seem to have Borg Warner T-5 5-speed manuals for the most part.

I think older cars could be pushed WAAAAAAAY higher into the redline in top gear. Of course im too young to know this for sure but I doubt in 1967 they were using the same rev limiting technology of GT3. Any geezers out there who know what im talking about?

They didn't have as much technology then but I think they still had rev limiters, however that difference if you were allowed to get an extra 1k rpms would not give the car almost 30Mph more and if you did rev it to the limit you would damage the engine and you could even blow it.
