I remember when I was starting out in GT3, while I was struggling to make some money and fix my first car, which was a Miata. Among the races I started winning, there was the FR Challenge, I think in Amateur Mode, and the prize car was the Toyota Trueno Shigeno Version (or something like that), which gave you 125,000 credits if sold. I went ahead and sold it, only to find out there was no way I could get the car again... I couldn't buy it and I couldn't win it, unless I restarted the whole game.

As a Not-Yet-GT4-User, I'm still waiting for it to be released in Europe (PAL) and other users who are playing it but haven't realized it yet, are there any cars that shouldn't be sold once you win them... or rather, any cars that are only won once... or... you get the idea.

Thanks

Any prize car in GT4 can be re-won by re-running the series. So this scenario won't happen.

hey this is kind of on the subject. i needed money and i sold my cadillac cien.. something came up in japanese, which i can't read just yet.. but i sold it anyhow. I didnt receive and credits for selling it ! what's up with that !? it's not in my garage, but there arent any new credits ! where did it go ? thanks for anybody who replies. later !

I made that mistake once, too. Have fun re-running Mission Hall 1-10...

If you sell a car that doesn't show a price, you get nothing for it...

simple answer - it went bye-bye. It wasn't valued, so you didn't get any money, and you have to win it again in order to have it again.

you can clear the golds in any series and re-run it in order to get the prize car again, but I'm not sure about the license tests.

Ok, this kinda stupid, but remember how in GT3, you could win a car you could buy in a color you couldn't?

Can anyone tell me if this happens in GT4?
Besides the black Le Mans cars.

all cars can be re-won except license cars.... if u sold ur model-T u'r screwed for the rest of the game... some of the cars u can get from somewhere else though.. e.g. Nike One

Just be careful with cars you win from the license tests. Some of them like a pontiac sunfire (I think that's it) and the model T are only obtainable by doing license tests. And once you've got gold, you've got gold.

Others would be new cars you win that are only available elsewhere as used cars, such as the mercury cougar. You'll get a new one from getting bronze on the S license, but the only way to get more is to buy a used one from the used car lot. Those usually come with 40 to 90k on them.

Actually neurokinetik,

If you won a car in GT3(like the Aston Martin Vanquish), which could only be won in an non-series race, like the FR races, You cant go back and re-do them, so this could happen, like with Acura RSX.

Yes, sometimes they award you with special colored cars. So far, i've only 3 special colors that are exclusive to prize cars: the Aston Martin DB9 in Super Gold, the Subaru 360 in World Rally Blue Mica, and the TVR Speed 12 in "Chameleon" (which looks absolutely STUNNING).

If you go through the license tests and don't get gold your first time, and you go back later for the golds, do you also get the gold cars?

Before you start selling cars, go through all the dealerships and make a note of which cars you cannot buy. The ones that have the --- --- ---- where the price should be. These are the cars that you will win. So DO NOT SELL THEM!

thanks minnesota as well as neurokinetic for your responses.. and.. now doesn't that suck. i didn't like the cien much anyway :grumpy: but that's crappy that they even let you sell it if you can't get any credits for it. what's the point !? lol. it's okay there will be more cool cars you can only win.. like the BMW 2002 Turbo :sly: that car owns my soul :) later !

stick in a 2nd memory card, win the car again.. and there you go ;) just figured that out thinking about this

same thing kinda happened to me.. (sorta)
actually saved on the wrong card; so i had saved some 10 billion credits and tons of cars on MY card.. instead of the card my sisters boyfriend gave me.. and he must have sold his SS trueno, so i guess im gonna have to delete his memory in GT3, and try to win that car again, and buy it back from his card

 ! Thats funny... I'll need to remember that LOL

I don't see what the big deal was with that Trueno except for novelty. And even that wasn't so great, because anybody could win it.

If you need lots of cash, Go to the Special condition hall and race the Paris race over and over to win the Maxi, It along with the two races is worth 28,000.000 for only six laps of racing!!!

Don't forget the Vitz turbo in orange metallic!

i figure, with a 1000 car garage in GT4, i'm gonna have at least one of every car, i won't sell any prize cars unless i have 2 or more of them, and even then some cars are cool enough to warrent having 2 or even 3 of them tuned differently

I heard you can keep some licenses that you had gotten in GT4P and use it in GT4, but do you get the price cars ud normally get if you had just beat them in GT4 instead of GT4P?

Shame, that.

If i remember correctly, no valued cars couldn´t be sold in GT3, like the Oreca Viper.
Correct me if i am wrong.

I still haven't heard about a basic concept of GT4:
how on earth do we win all 700+ cars?

In GT3, we has lotteries with 4 cars.
How does it work with GT4?

You won't need 2 or 3 of a car tuned differently because the game can save 3 different tuning settings for each car. That's right! Before you race go into the options screen and choose setting A, B, or C. I have one setting for the fast straight tracks and one for the windy tracks and one for drifting. It's great!

Technically true... but you can also have cars to a different level of Tune that are the same... i.e. some with weight reduction... some without...

So far, I haven't sold a single car i GT4. With a little tactic, you should be able to cruise though the game (No, not KILLING the game - I try to compete)... Starting by completing all tests will give you a nice modded Skyline, and doing most of Mission hall will give you a few other nice bits as well... (And it just struck me, I need to finish Mission 34 to get the Nissan so I can do the last races in Pro Hall)

Just a hint ... when you win a car, look into car shop and see, if you can buy it. If yes, then that car you can sell, if you need the money. period.
