I traded in my spare PS2 (fat block style) for a new X-Box at Game Stop. I bought Doom3 right away, and boy does it rock. I forgot what level I'm on, but I'm in some kind of museum where the monsters are in glass display cases in some lab. It's been pretty creepy so far. I get startled constantly by things jumping out at you.
The graphics and lighting effects are quite impressive IMO.👍
Guess after Doom I'll have to try this "Halo" game I hear all the kiddies talking about.

BUY X-BOX LIVE and you will be extremely happy with x-box games. X-box live is where all the fun is. Especially for Halo 2. THey just released more levels for download content. My girlfriend and I are still severely addicted to Halo 2 online. It is extremely hard and you will get owned a lot when you start playing. You might even hate the online at first because its so hard. Then after you get better it is a lot of fun and requires quite a bit of strategy in big team battle.
Just ignore the Halo 2 haters in here. Try it for yourself.
.....Back to Doom 3. Get live and play as a co-op with a friend against the game online. Really really fun. 👍

How many people that play Doom 3 on either X-Box or PC have it hooked on a surround sound system?
If you can't hear the background noises then you are missing all the fun of playing Doom 3.The sounds are so well done.
I played with a headphone and the ambient sounds that i constantly heard freaked me out.I had to gather up the courage to open the next door after hearing all the freakish noises.It felt like they were playing with me.
Seriously,the sound in this game is one of the most important features.It makes the game 5 times more scary.

I play on x-box and I have a 600 watt Sony surround sound system hooked up with optical cord and its perfect for my game room. I agree 100% with you GTChamp2003. I have never played a game where the sound performed so well. I dont think its possible to walk a few feet without hearing something that freaks you out. Every footstep is terrifying because it could trigger a demon behind, beside or on top of you. A pipe will just explode out gas right by your head causing you to almost pee youself thinking its a demon about to attack. With the proper surround sound you can hear every direction around you so you can usually tell where something is.
Online the surround sound isnt as good but in single player it is absolutely flawless!

I too have surround sound hooked up with my entertainment system. Doom 3 rocks on it.
