I would really like it if theri was a Drag strip in the game, like on multiplayer or something. Where you can take any car you have and run it against a computer, or a friend or even by yourself. I would just really like to see that.
I know there isnt a strip in GT2, but there is a code in GameShark to make a multiplayer rag race using the test track. If you have GT3 I dont think it will help, but heres the GT2 GS code: http://www.geocities.com/skynyrdsgtcodes/InRace2PlayerDrag.html
You could always take two players on the test course and see who runs 440M or 1000M quickly. Probably not the experience you're looking for, but it's a thought.
And welcome to the forums. I have to say drag racing doesn't really appeal to me, though.
The Idea od doing the 440m or 1000m My friends and I already do that in both GT2 and GT3. I dont have a gameshark so I guess I will have to make do with what I do have and wait until it happens or something

Imo draggin ain't racing , but many pepole seem to like it , and i think it won't be much problem For polyphony so why not... it may be fun in a two player mode , like you both have indentical cars and it's all about reaction time , proper launching , shifting , setting etc.
Why do you people keep wanting to change what the game is all about? Its not about racing on drag strips and **** like that. The game is about Grand Touring. Drag racing is the most stupidest thing. :shakehead

actually gran turismo is only associated with road racing, and i think grand can be thought of in the luxiurious sense, elegant tourer, i'd hardly call blasting through 3 mile road courses in 90 seconds touring.
and why complain about added features when it is usually what is lost that is the problem, unless some here fear that it will turn into an all drag race game?
i think that racing one on one with the AI would be good where you choose course and you choose there car, and that there would be different modes of racing e.g. drag race 1/4mile or 3 lap race etc.
Drag racing may not be favourite racing , but it is racing... and those who say it requires no skill... it really is hard if you want to get a good launch , shift good etc. and if you have NOS you have to do a couple of more things too... you gotta have good reaction time too... And let's see you jump in a top fuel dragster and manage to get a good time...

Your points are valid. Of course it's a form of racing, and it requires its own special skills, but it still has NO place in GRAN TURISMO. Go get a drag racing game. GT is for DRIVERS!
