Drivehub - PS5 (GT7)

I get the grinding with my T500 too. Just set everything up tonight.

However, the worse problem is loss of FFB when doing licence tests. First attempt it will be there, second attempt nothing, third attempt back again.

Anyone know a fix?
To me this seems an issue with the combo GT7+T500+Drivehub+PS5.
I guess it also has something to do with how GT7 always resets the wheel rotation depending on the car in use.

In my setup the FFB will switch into one of the following states:
  • no FFB (steering input still possible)
  • "inverted" FFB
  • wrong rotation (wheel isn't synced to in-game car) example: a Gr3 car will have 900°-ish
  • center spring (no active FFB, simulates a center spring wheel)
  • "dead" (no button or steering input at all, no FFB)

what can trigger these states:
  • going on track
  • pressing pause on track
  • pressing PS-button (PS5-Menü)
  • going into controller settings in the GT7 options
  • during pit stops (I guess this is similar to pressing pause)
  • random (couldn't figure out what triggered it, but happens rarely)

what can fix it (in my case):
- pressing pause on track will switch between states (I usually need to hit pause a few times until the FFB is right).

Except if the "center spring" or "dead" happens, then I need to power boot the T500, nothing else will fix that.

This is really frustrating and a reason I don't race Sport mode as much anymore, also license tests etc, anything that requires often restarts I will mostly do on Pad because of this.

Edit: isn't the "grinding" the understeer effect of the front wheels?

Hi All,

I have an older Fanatec setup consisting of a Clubsport V2.0 wheelbase, Clubsport V1 Universal hub and Clubsport V3 pedals.

I have purchased a Drivehub so I can use it on the PS5 with GT7, I have the Nancon wired controller which works fine for the authentication. All firmware has been updated on both the wheel hub and the drivehub to the current versions as of yesterday.

The wheel works fine in Fanatec mode, the only issue I am having is button mapping. GT7 recognises the wheel as a Fanatec GT DD but I am unable to get the paddle shifts working. Some but not all of the other buttons work, at least the main ones I need.

Is there anyway to get the shifter paddles working that other people have found?

Cheers

Are you seeing that its a DD in the calibration screen where it shows steering and pedal response? It may be the Drive hub FW has an issue, so try earlier versions. I used it for years w my V2 - the latest changes are to support the DD and some other brands so you may not need that functionality

Base should be in PC mode Red

That base should identify as a CSL elite as that’s closest to how it actually can perform. that’s the base you should use in the controller setting area. The button mapping will show the elite wheel so match the labels to the buttons on the hub layout - L1,R1 are the paddles, find Square, Circle Triangle etc on the screen and map to those as they are on your hub. Use the dropdowns to set the function

Hello all,

Long time lurker, just registered to ask a question.

My situation might be odd, but I now own two fanatec wheels. DD pro and DD+.

I have a very large TV and split screen in GT7 on my PS5 is actually pretty cool with the two wheels connected but the problem is the second wheel receives no FFB. I’ve read elsewhere that the PS5 can do FFB on two wheels if they’re differing brands. For example one Logitech and one fanatec.

Geek Street on YouTube made a video showing this working.

My question is, could the drive hub somehow mask my second fanatec wheel into fooling my PS5 into thinking it’s a different wheel, hopefully getting FFB on both wheels?

Further, does anyone know definitively if the PS5 would send FFB to two wheels if the wheels are different brands?

Thanks in advance.
