I don't think you can back it on up in most major events, I may stand corrected on this. The FIA does not like this because they are reversists. :D

Thinking of it now, it may be that every league in the FIA follows that rule...

Now only if NASCAR would join, the sport would get ten times better..

I don't think they are reversists, they ban going the other way in order to keep races safe. But to be completely honest it is dangerous to be going the wrong way on track in the first place.

Long time console racer and just done my rookie season of iRacing, love the fact I can drive and control my own speed in the pits. Yes the tyre / fuel selection is a fudge but would love to be able to the same in GT6. But console games hold your hand too much. Shame really as it's a useful feature and would add to the immersion a lot.

A lot of PC sims are like that because they are targeted at a specific audience, which are big racing fans/sim racers. Gran Turismo is generally targeted at a wide audience, not just sim racers which means that unfortunately they will have to make some compromises in order to keep the game simple enough for casual players to understand and enough intricate details in order to make regular sim racers happy.

Yeah I am pretty sure that it was all FIA events. Wow was not aware Nascar isn't under FIA regulations

Definitely a safety thing, you could just see the carnage with some dude trying to back it through pit lane as yellow flag pit stops are happening it would be a disaster.

Nope... They basically use what they want and don't adhere to any modern day regs... I wish the FIA would sneak under the boots of NASCAR and go to the manufactures saying if they do not comply with regs from the FIA from production, cars can not be used in other series non-affiliated with the FIA. Even if it isn't the same model car.. Some might think that is socialism but the next time we see an injury from a non-affiliated team, we can all point the finger to you know who..

In my mind, the safety of ones life is the most important part of racing. Not the specs of the engine or new innovation brought to it, but the ability to keep a driver safe.. Relying solely on a device dreamed up thirty years ago and a pretty standard roll cage is not an acceptable way for protection..

Damn, you need a governing body in a sport when it's at that level and not just a national body, agreed Nascar needs to get with the times. Put it this way if all the Nascar drivers and teams take a stand and demand the same level of protection their fellow drivers are provided as standard by "striking" one would think Nascar would have to follow suit. Good idea about going direct to each marque.

or maybe have the pit crew come out of the garage when you enter your designated area instead of them waiting for you outside

I've been wanting this feature like forever! I remember a PS2 F1 game I had (the name escapes me), that had that feature and you could get penalized if you went above the limit.

Come on, PD! I know you can implement this, even if it's optional.

NASCAR is a different governing body from the FIA, and have different rules and regulations to ensure the safety of its participants. I fail to see the inherent problem with this.

Your suggestion of banning manufacturers for competing in NASCAR would also backfire spectacularly. It would make manufacturers leave FIA sanctioned series and continue with NASCAR, because there is more money to be made in NASCAR than any other motorsport series, except possibly F1.

At the very least it would be nice to stay in the cockpit as you drive in the pits, even if they take control away from you - just like you did in the initial release of GT 5. Never understood why the changed from that to a rotating camera external to the car, really broke the experience for me.

I fully agree on this. It would make the game a hell of a lot more realistic and more... well... fun.

But remember people this is PD we are talking about. How many bugs will it have for the first 3 months before they get fixed :D

Everyone who liked this thread needs to go like this post in the suggestions forum.

Has this changed since you posted ?
Because I always stay in the cockpit (offline in GT6 that is) in GT5 it was the external rotating camera
