ds3 or wheel?

I drove a DS3 for years (gt3 through gt5) and then got a DFGT and wheelstand pro for Christmas. I will NEVER go back to a DS3. I'm faster and feel like I'm actually driving now instead of playing a game. Previously uncontrollable cars are easily controlled now too.

Unfortunately DS3, hoping to get a DFGT but now considering the the fact PS4 coming and Gt6 most likely will be only on that, not sure it's a good move.:indiff:

I never considered playing GT5 without a wheel. When my PS3 was gifted to me 2 Christmases ago I also got GT5, a DFGT and a wheelstand pro to put the wheel on. There was just never an option to use a DS3 or other controller of that type. Ran the DFGT for over a year and liked it well enough but I discovered the stand was just not stable enough when attempting emergency counter steering motions. Shortly after last Christmas I upgraded to the G27 and a heavier version of the wheelstand pro and the differences are profound. If you can get the scratch together go for the 27. To compare it, I would describe the differences as going from a '66 VW Bug to a Mercedes Benz, or somewhere in that general vicinity. But since I can only imagine how each drives, as I've not driven either, I can say for certain the DFGT feels like a toy and is noisy, whereas the G27 feels like a car, without all the noise just turning it on.

Bowtie, if you can get it, I seriously recommend the G27 or better class wheel. My wife is regretting buying the DFGT since I now have both and the only time the DFGT gets connected is when someone is over and we decide to go 1v1 split screen and I won't give up the 27.

H-gate/clutch shifting is a blast when you get it right and the ability to shut the car off and park and just listen to the ambient noise around the track can be a relaxing way to end a lap or practice session.

Like me :dopey:

I played GT5 prologue on DS3 and thought it was great but the first time I played a Mercedes GT5 demo with a DFGT. I was so impressed with the feel of it and the control it gave me, I had to buy one. Never looked back since! For me racing GT, F1 etc its wheel all the way. 👍
