I don't try to get golds with the controller, only silver. If I get really close, I'll give it another go. There are only a few that give me a hard time for silver and a quite a few that were easy for the golds. Gold = 22 Silver = 34 Bronze = 4. I go back through once in a while to try to improve the bronze, but so far, no luck.
I have had my share of problems with this one as well, but I golded it, by full throttle halfway, after this, be verry gentle on the throttle and keep the car smooth past the cones. Eventually I beat this one by half a second of the gold time!
Yes the DS3 is a handicap on some of the licenses, but most can still be done with the DS3. Those cone slaloms are easier with a wheel and pedals for example.

I'm stuck on S-8 and the FR slalom, those two are the only silvers and I golded the rest already. Suzuka is my nightmare track along with 8c!!! Like I'm also stuck on FGT A-Spec Suzuka and not to mention the Vettel challenge
That second FR slalom did take a while but then for some reason I just nailed it on one run, you can really feel when it goes right as well. You really just have to keep the speed just right and of course take the course as straight as you can.
The problem with S-8 is that ASM is forced on and it slows you down no end. The only way to turn it off is also turn ABS off but that makes things harder. I eventually did it with ASM on and ABS 1, just gotta really push, especially through the esses and get past that pesky XJ220 before/around the hairpin on the first lap. Degners preferably.
I managed to get up to 53 gold with my DS3. Then my wheel arrived on Christmas day so I started playing on my GTP account and haven't really bothered with the tests.

Actually, that's not how I remember it. You need to turn the abs off, and then on again, or something to that effect. I know I did that challenge with ABS on and ASM off.
