I wonder if is recommendable disable the SRF using DS3. I tried it and it was difficult to keep the car on the track (overall in some powerful cars). What do you say me? :)

srf is cheating in my opinion mate, but thats just my opinion, if your happy using it then keep doing so, I just think its like swiming with arm bands on.

Depends on what you want. If you want an easier time, use it, it's your game and you should enjoy it. If you want better technique, leave it off and learn ways to overcome it.

I don´t mind do worse times whe I race alone or if in an online race is disabled for all. What I wanted to know is that if you use a pad is recommendable (although you don´t do better times) [w/o taking out fun]?

Well i don't use a pad, but i still find it less fun due to the fact that i like to improve my technique, and to me that is fun. I was shocked when i put the SRF on how much of a difference it made though. Basically try it out, and see if it's fun, only you can decide.

GT5 with DS3 + SRF on is pretty much an arcade game.

whatever suits you though, I know not everyone can put a big ass wheel at where they play.

I wouldn't have SRF on as you will have problems switching back to "normal" and you get used to either use it or don't very fast...

SRF is designed for people playing with DS3 because they cant control acceleration perfectly without it. GT5 is arcade anyway, why fool yourself telling it's a simulator like rfactor?

i just find when i'm really pushing it stops me just sliding out round corners. its just nice really :P

it helps you a little bit but not as much aas ASM

Were talking about computer games here and some people are getting all egotistical, arrogant and elitist. I don't get that. You must think you are better than others. How western.

I don't care if you use all the aids when driving against me. I don't care if you win either. Do whatever you want that makes you happy and pay no attention to people that put you down. They are sad little people that are heroes in their own minds only.

I only have skid recovery on for the F1GT, Ferrari F1's and the X2010 as it is next to impossible to control without crashing using a DS3. I would be much slower round the track without it enabled on the above mentioned cars. The rest of my collection I have it set to off.

I have a DS3 and use it on the FGT, X2010 and a few of the Group C cars. Its no fun with it on, far too easy to win races with it on aswell

the only assist I use is abs 1, and I've never had many problems ... Minolta can get hairy and the fgt is a twitchy little b*****d, but apart from that I can't think of many others I have problems with.

It's built into the game, as an option.
It's not cheating by any stretch of the definition.

I use a DS3, and just re-assigned the triggers as gas and brake. It takes a minute to get used to, but try it for 2 days. It's still a bit 'on/off', but it has a little more control from what I found (I actually still use the square as my brake, and R2 as the gas).
Like the others here, just enjoy playing the game, who cares about the rest.
I personally like the challenge of keeping the aids off, but it took me a while to get there. I just wanted to win first, improve later. Its worked for me.

Using a DS3 with triggers as gas and brake. I had it on by default for the longest time not really knowing what it was, then after reading a few threads I figured I'd turn it off and see how much of a difference it made on my lap times.

Surprisingly, some of my lap times actually seemed to increase without it. Maybe I was just imagining things... but, for the most part I don't notice a huge difference.

Maybe I'd see a big difference driving in the rain, or with silly powerful cars?

For the last few weeks, however, I have been playing with it off.

I did the exact same thing with my DS3, but only because my thumb was sore from playing the game so much right after I got it. :)

I never use it except for rally courses, well for the missions anyhow.

Even if the car had terrible oversteer or wheelspin, no SRF is so much more fun to drive.

but, is it normal that when accelerating out of a turn the car become crazy?I almost have no practice and it was a very powerful car (~590bhp)

This all depends on the skill level. As i have seen in many post, the game is much easier with a wheel. Here is one such quote:

"Man i just got my g27 this week , i was trying to beat the vettel challenge for like a week trying very hard, ( before the patch ) and i only could get bronze on monza , and could't even do one lap in suzuka in a decent pace , so i bought the g27 , and im 5 minutes i golded it all ... "

So given the above quote and many others just like it within this forum the following can be stated.

DS3 <-Hard-----Easy> Wheel

In other words, if the game had a difficulty setting then easy would be like using a wheel and hard would be like using a DS3. What about medium? That would be like DS3 with SRF on.

I myself never used SRF until the FGT. All other races were completed with only ABS 1. But the FGT on a DS3 is a real pain, but it can be done. Of course you bought the game to give you enjoyment so use whatever makes you happy.:dopey:

That difference is increased when driving a x2010, you can see in the seasonal events leaderboards that people who use wheel do better times as a rule, but the diference is not exagerated (in some cases). It is strongly increased when you drive a F1 or x2010 car. I play with friends who use wheel and the advantage is not very huge

Hmmm .... I don't see how people find the game so hard with a DS3? I never had that much of a problem with the DS3 ... Golded the licenses with a DS3, golded all the special events I attempted with the DS3, beat mates online who where using a wheel etc. etc.

I actually think that the Vettle Challenge can be golded with the DS3 if you practice for long enough with it ... I must say though this controller sensitivity option is a bit much, don't see why that had to be added over a save feature but hey ... this is PD

I play with with the DS3 but i never use SFR. Thou when i tested it i had a hard time crashing or sliding the damn car
