Welcome!

Hi there, and welcome to Dutch Customs tuning shop! Since I had been getting a positive feedback on some of my tunes, I decided it is time to put them all in one place. I tune mainly for my own pleasure, but like to share my experiences with the rest of the world. I am always interested in feedback, good or bad!

So, what does DC have to offer?

At the moment, Dutch Customs specializes in race tuning, meaning I tune cars for racing only, not for drifting. I try to customize cars I like to give consistent and fast laptimes while remaining close to the original. The shop consists of a 'current' section, an 'old' section and an 'obsolete' section. The 'current' section contains cars that can be used with the current online events. The 'old' section contains cars that were tuned for events that are no longer available, but are still usable in Time Trial, Duel or Arcade. The 'obsolete' section contains tunes that were once valid, but were invalidated by a GT5P physics and/or PP update. These tunes can't be used anymore, but they are kept here for reference; you never know if anyone might need them later and you can always browse them for inspiration. ;)

Chef's specialty and recommendations

Like a restaurant, Dutch Customs has several tunes (dishes) on offer. Much like a chef has his favorites, so has NLxAROSA. :) The tunes marked with Chef's specialty are the ones especially recommended by Dutch Customs. There are also the Recommended tunes, which are highly recommended by others (links to review comments provided). This will help you pick the tunes that DC (and others) are especially fond of. But make sure you check out the others as well, you just might find that little gem you are looking for that fits your unique driving style. :)

My favorite car is not in here, what now?

Requests can be made, though I cannot guarantee I'll get to them, as I am very busy, both on -and offline. :) But if I post here that I'll do it, I'll do it. :)

Show me the tunes already!

Currently, Dutch Customs has the following cars on offer (at least until the next online update). Expect to see more in the near future. Unless stated otherwise, all cars are tested using PRO physics and all aids off except ABS, which is set to 1. All tunes are tested using a Logitech G25 Racing Wheel and a Sixaxis controller.

Even though competition or battle is not my goal, it does sound like fun. ;) Anyway, I'm working on the Mazda RX-7 right now, I'm sure it will pop in here in the very near future.

I've printed the Amuse/Opera 350Z RS going to give it a whirl tonight.

And of course it's just for fun ;)

NLxAROSA need to ask you a question about gearing! DO you set the final before, you set the other gears(1st through 6th)?

Usually before, though I might change it later if necessary if one or more gears don't turn out the way I want to.

Mmmm a three way.

All Right that's what I'm talking about :D!!

Anyway, It should be interesting the clash of the tuning garages in the future, and I hope your tuning garage is a succesful one:sly:.

None the less, it's great to see other Tuners arround the block. 👍

Haha, I thought I was the only one who signed to TLD
Although Im loyal to TLD for now, Im actually learning quite a bit right now testing all these tunes, and I will probably test these tunes at some point. :)

My plan is to be able to independently tune my cars without the need for using pre-made tunes by the time GT5 comes out. But for that to happen though, I still need to learn, so I hope these tunes are as educational as TLD's!

Ive been waiting for someone to do an RX-7 tune too! I wasnt desperate for one, thats why I didnt request one, but I was interested to see what everyone does with it compared to my tune. So, that will be first on my list after this intense weekend of racing.

Feel free to try it out anyway. ;) I discovered a new gem for 600PP Suzuka: The Skyline Coupe/Tuned. Still testing it, but it runs very fast. Even a mediocre driver like me can get on the podiums with this one. It's a bit like the Opera/Amuse 350z, just faster. :)

I just tried out your 350Z and it's good! I came from last place (12th) and got up to 2nd (behind GTP_AMG! Hi Rob... :D) ... that was until I got nerfed at 130R and went back to last :irked:, but still recovered to finish 7th... It's a bit lively at the back for my liking, and it likes to oversteer when you are accelerating out of a corner. It's also a bit sluggish in 2nd gear, but overall it's pretty quick!

There was a contract? You better not have forged my signature on something

Sounds like I'll lose a customer when the full GT5 comes out.

Hope your tuning shop turns out well man, have fun.

I love you guys! Hope that in final version there would be option to buy independent tuned cars with colors of their own team. You could see whose car goes fastest again and again...

Well done and welcome !! I have been watching the tunes you have been providing over the past few weeks and was wondering how long it would be before you did this.

Now if only the cars themselves allowed for some custom sticker tuning to identify it to each shop : )

Thanks for the kind words, guys (gals?)! Custom liveries would be very cool indeed! But......so far there are two Australian tuning shops and one Dutch tuning shop, where's the rest of the world? I'm pretty sure there must be more tuning fanatics from all over the world out there!

They're still playing GT4 ;) I know this for a fact.

Actually, thats not my intention, it was just so I didnt have to rely so much on others.
Maybe I wont be a customer, but I will certainly continue to test your tunes and race them 👍:)

I discovered this little gem in the Concepts by Gran Turismo section. It handles like a dream and is very fast. Even for a mediocre driver like myself it is pretty easy to get to the podium with this one. A skilled driver should totally own with this car. :) Prepare to put some Clios to shame in this baby. :P So try this one out and tell me what you think of it!

Hey there. I am working with the 888 tunes.... from the bitter cold part of the US known as Minnesota. So I do run under a shop with a different flag but I am rockin it for this part of the ocean.

Hi again. I'm interested in giving your Skyline/Tuned setup a go. It's possible one day I'll do my own setup but you look like you could do with a review.:)

Sure, go right ahead, that's what it's here for! I'm very interested to see if some things could be finetuned to make it even faster. :)

Adapted spring/damper/toe settings of the Skyline Coupe/Tuned after review by P3nT4gR4m.

Skyline Coupe Tuned Review
This car is giving me the impression of being "almost" there. It looks good, but it sounds crap. The gear changes are really quick, but there's only 5 gears. It's pretty quick, but it's not the fastest. And finally, half of your settings are good, but other parts leave me thinking what could be better. My biggest beef here is the turn-in under brakes. Driving style differences or not, this car will not turn in when you're braking, and that is a vital thing to better times. On to the handling, the car was pretty planted stock, and I think you took a little bit too much advantage of that without compensating. i.e. You made it a little bit oversteery with some settings. That doesn't mean you need to start over though. I think if you made the rear hide height a few millimetres higher than the front, made the rear suspension a little bit softer, and added some negative front toe the car could get a lot more stable and better. It could be the current suspension settings, but I thought that gears 1 and 2 were a bit short too sending a little too much torque to the wheels causing wheelspin on corner exits. Maybe that's just my imagination though. I really think this car is almost there, you just need that little bit more work, especially on the brakes.👍
Yes it really sounds like an old lady throwing up when down-shifting.

Excelent stuff,

It's always interesting to see what others drive with and to try out their settings.

Arosa, it makes sense to add one of the popular choices for 750PP S'ka, the Amuze s2000 ;) (which starts with a default 'front stiffer then rear' right?).

My z06 setup looks a lot like yours, though i don't use 'toe' as much as you do. (usually i stick to a safe +.02 rear toe only)

I don't quite understand the massive difference in camber, the rx7 seems to get around 2.0 but most others (i've seen sofar) are set below 1.
I realize i'm the tuning layman here, but i did not expect such big difference in camber

Looking out for your viper setup.

Thanks for the review and for the pointers. 👍 Expect to see an upgraded version of this car here soon. :sly:

@mindwise: I'm taking some more time for the Viper, taking into account the pointers I'm getting from various people. :) It's already very fast though. :)

Hey NLxAROSA, Ive just started a Suzuki Swift weekly (at the moment, daily) series and I wondered if you were interested in providing an extra tune for people to use? Free advertisment :)

Ive just been trying out the RX-7, I'll back later with a review.
