Dynamic weather and track conditions?

By "equipement" I was meaning Hans-Helmet/Belt-airbag... this was out of car consideration.
Each car has a different response to crash due to their conception, and like i said before 63km/h is a standard decided by crash-test association all around the world. It means it's the maximal speed at which a crash test is meaningful to set the car security towards crash, above this speed the result of crash is too hazardous and becomes (equals) lethal.

Sorry for the misunderstanding
:guilty:

EDIT: for Kubica's crash, they are considering as a miracle the fact that he end up the crash without really be injured cause of the violence of the crash when the car was litterally "flying" into the wall at 200+km/h. Massa did not had the same chance, and spent few weeks in the hospital (even if the most severe injure has been made by the spring hitting his helmet before the crash).

I do agree it was quite something that Kubica came out of that relatively unharmed, it's just I don't agree that the 63Km/h thing which I think applies more to drivers with 3 point seatbelts and no helmet/HANS and have much bigger chance of head/neck/spine/internal injuries in a crash than an F1 driver, even with higher speeds in F1.

You might find this interesting:

EDIT:Anyway, this has all gone a bit off topic.

This is from the trailer. Those moving cloud shadows mean dynamic weather. Not clear yet if rain and/or snow are moving in, nor whether this effect is only shown during replay or also while racing 'live'. But it looks promising nontheless. 👍

I was just about to post the same thing. 👍 I think it might be an effect for this course or "bare" courses only.

Here's hoping for dynamic weather but I dont think we'll see it in a true from until gt6.

Still, I'd bet we'll get a wet version of Tuskuba again.

If we was going to get some precipitation effects then i'm suprised no one has asked Kaz about it, and i would have thought if it was included we'd have seen something in the trailer. But we havn't seen his ultra cool NASCAR damage yet so maybe they're keeping some things back. I hope so. :)

Yeah, i was a bit worried that we haven´t seen anything about rain yet.

I hope the stage demos or QA session can at least claer this one up and tell us what´s happening with this promised feature.

Yeah, kinda disappointed that nothing was mentioned about dynamic weather changes and day and night cycles. Probably the biggest feature that i'm looking forward to. That small segment in the trailer showing clouds is hardly what i would call proof sadly. Still keeping my figures crossed.

Day night cycles is confirmed you know? There are videos on the front page or in the E3 thread.

I doubt we will see weather, the next thing to be revealed is online, which is the biggest thing about this game.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the heads up, cant believed i missed that. Anyways HORRAY!! the transition between day and night on that vid was a beautiful site. Now i'm just waiting for one more confirmation and it's miller time:dopey:

With the impending Nov.2 release there's still Gamescom in August. Europe is GT's biggest market and then of course TGS in September. I suspect it's Tokyo where everything will be revealed. One thing I'm hoping for is full support fir Frex Simwheel and Simconmotion, both of which is in my wishlist for this year's Xmas.

If GT5 doesn't have rain I will be sorely disappointed. There is really no excuse - that on top of the fact that only 200 cars will have interior driving views?!?!?!

GT5 has undergone basically 6 years in development, over 10 years in concept/planning and this is what we get.

*Sigh*. Maybe all the GT5 details aren't out of the bag yet, so here's hoping for rain.....

No, all cars will have interior driving views. Two hundred of them, however, will be fully modelled for damage.

Be thankful for that much. Polyphony have said that the amount of detail required to make those two hundred cars was so great that it was totally unfeasible to apply it to all nine hundred and fifty cars.

I dont think this confirms dynamic weather, just confirms day/night cycle as the sun goes down the position of the clouds move, what it could mean is static weather like griffith500 said, especially with the start of the trailer and the kind of raindrop effect on the gt5 logo.

If weather makes it in to this game at all and I really hope it does, I think it will be static and selectable before every race which would be more than enough for me :)

Um, from what I read, it sounded like Kaz was saying that they could only apply the interior view to 200 of the vehicles in GT5 - the "Premium" ones.

BELIEVE ME, I want to be wrong on this point. :sly:

I would hope GT5 has weather effects, but if it does not or is limited it is alright. Real time weather effects would be crazy, but only 30 fps racing games seem to have them though. 5 years is long but not everything is possible, ps3 may have reached its limits.

Figure out the cockpit thing and everything should fall into place, I want to talk about other issues instead of worrying about that all the time. :)

Another issue I am concerned about is the inclusion of only 9 [nine] NASCAR vehicles.

Why even have NASCAR in the game?!?

Think about it - [and read between the lines a little] - this means that we are going to be able to compete against only 8 [eight] cars per race [not the 16 [sixteen] we were assured of a while ago]. So really, what is the point?

DLC maybe? :dunce:

Bro calm down did you read the article it said tthat their were going to be more cars coming also read this

“ Ok, that euro game article makes no sense. They say there are "9" nascars in all.But there are 11 that have been seen...Impala SS (#14 Tony Stewart NASCAR, '09)Impala SS (#24 Jeff Gordon NASCAR, '09)Impala SS (#42 Juan Pablo Montoya NASCAR, '10)Impala SS (#48 Jimmie Johnson NASCAR, '09)Impala SS (#88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. NASCAR, '09)Camry (#11 Denny Hamlin NASCAR, '09)Camry (#18 Kyle Busch NASCAR, '10)Camry (#20 Joey Lagano NASCAR, '10)Camry (#55 Michael Waltrip NASCAR, '09)Camry (#83 Brian Vickers NASCAR, '10)Fusion (#99 Carl Edwards NASCAR, '10)"

"Perhaps they're referring to the cars:1. Impala SS2. Fusion3. Camry4. Charger5. Mustang (new car coming next year)6. Challenger7. Dodge Ram8. Toyota Tundra9. Chevy Silverado"

Even here it seems like info is miss translated with these people

That's a little off the topic (Maybe you missed the NASCAR Thread?), but they stated 9 NASCAR Models, not 9 Cars/Teams. There are 4 Makes/Models in the Sprint Cup Series, and so far we've only seen 3 (Toyota, Ford and Chevy). So that means we either have 3 models of each series, Cup(COT), NW and Trucks or older models of Cup Cars (I hope it's the latter, personally)

Besides, didn't the first (E3 2009) trailer have more than 8 cars? I know there were duplicates, but there were cars that haven't been seen in the demo yet, such as Michael Waltrip's #55 (He doesn't race anymore, but they did go through the trouble of painting it)

Since they only need 4 models, all they need is the licensing rights to each driver and the decal files, those can be a bear to get, however NASCAR is remaking their licensing process. Soon all drivers will be under 1 license, allowing anyone who buys a NASCAR license to use likenesses and decals for every team.

From,
Chris.

I am perfectly calm, thank you. :sly:

Seriously, how many times can Kazunori Yamauchi be mis-translated?!?

This is only the fifth or tenth time that we have received indirect facts about what he said - or supposedly said - and each time it is from reputable gaming press sources!

This needs to be concluded with concrete facts - and I think that those facts will only be available when we have the game in our hands; sadly enough. :scared:

Good point bro this is why i do not believe that 800 cars will not have cockpit view 👍
Now back to our scheduled broadcasting

Ring ring ring ring, banana phone. Info can get backwashed and snowballed amongst the 1000's of planeteers.

But yes it was 9 Models of NASCAR cars\trucks, so happy to see the CWTS included, still Xing fingers for some Vintage NASCAR, they gotta have that Dale#3 Goodwrench and STP #43 Petty + Awesome Bill from Dawsonville.

No, he could only apply an ultra-realistic interior to those two hundred cars. Every car will have an interior, but two hundred of them will have an incredibly-realstic one. The rest, they admit, will be somewhat generic, though not for lack of trying. The problem is that it takes far too long to be able to program them all.

How about you try reading the whoel article next time, instead of every third word?

Ummm, this is just a question but...Why is there a discussion about the car interiors and cockpit view in the Dynamic weather and track conditions tread?...Did I miss something? :dunce: If so I apologize.

Black Chamber was whinging about how there's supposedly only two hundred interiors and that Polyphony had better include changing weather conditions to make up for it and he's posting it across multiple threads. I felt it pertinent to tell him what the actual score is because I feel compelled to action when I see aggressive and bitchy doom-and-gloom threads and posts like that. Polyphony have sweated for half a decade to produce this game and when they show it, it's a thing of utter beauty ... but it's still not good enough for some people. Being someone who is involved and heavily invested in the creative process (unrelated to GT; I don't work for Polyphony) and knowing what people who do this sort of thing for a living have to do in order to create something like this, there's not much else that I can think of that I would call ruder than being given bread and demanding cake.

Yeah I can understand what you mean. PD and many other developers work hard and sometimes don't get the praise they deserve. This stuff is hard work people!!! Anyways I'm glad to know what's going on now. Thanks!

But seriously people, what more could you possibly want? GT5 is like...jam packed with awesome!

it says on the news at the moment on the news
You’ll have the option to synchronize the game’s time of day with the track’s current local time.

i take this as if i sync and its dark outside my house the race circuits will be dark, it might be all of them or just the ones on my time zone or near it

I think you'll find it means that if it's dark at the circuit when you sync it, you'll race on the circuit in the dark. Not just the ones "near" your house, but it will apply to all circuit around the world: conditions will reflect the current local time.
