If it's what i think it is you'll hear the rpm's fluctuate.

I was shown how to do this yesterday.. I want to say I WILL NOT BE DOING IT, but essentially you are correct, you should here there cars bog back down almost immediately without the presence of a "quick shift"

This trick BLoWS.....really leaves who actually has the better tune in the air. The trick has always been around but it's been avoided like a plague. And it should stay that way.

I'm quoting myself here but I mentioned it in this thread... There's 2 people in particular who has brought this nasty cheat back from the dead

I've run 1 guy on the list and wondered how he was so much quicker, things are coming into focus now.

It works but it's a pain in the ass cause I mess up too much.

zMystery add me, I cleaned out a lot of people off my friends list so I have plenty of room now.

Never see you on anymore bro. i'll try to keep an eye out for you.

Y'all really made a list.come on give it a rest already.can't stop this from going on

Solution: Race FWDs.

I believe you can still do it with a 10/0 brake balance and no ABS unfortunately :( ..

I actually doubt that's the case. E-brake will momentarily disengage the clutch (provided it acts on the drive wheels), braking won't.

Unless I've completely misunderstood how this actually works. If it works how I think, brakes would be far and away slower than the e-brake for this; you'd have to overpower the engine with the brakes to slow them to road speed instead of basically blipping the clutch while simultaneously slowing the drive tires (e-brake).

I dunno lol, it sounds more like a feature than cheating to me. Look down your noses at it all you want but think about it a bit.

Problem is every time something is found its called a cheat here.

Sure it isn't honest to flooring accelerator and going. But I'm sure in real drag racing with modified road cars that they don't just floor it and there is some technique to get faster.

I don't do this myself as I would rather stay true to the roots of online drag racing but its technically not a cheat.

Stall converters, huge drag slicks, posi-trac rear ends. The list can go on and on for things that can be done "in real life" but these things are not available on GT5 :( .. So I guess it go's without saying, "you gotta do what you gotta do" .. I'm glad to see you aren't incorporating this into your drag racing viper! Also I heard you finally got a team together, wish I could have the chance to race with you all but sadly I'm in the States :( .. But best of luck to you!

If it works how I think, brakes would be far and away slower than the e-brake for this...

After examining this closer, I agree with you, but for a simpler reason:

Using the brakes to take off is slower because the brakes need to disengage completely for you to take off, and this takes time. A fully depressed brake pedal could take up to .200 to fully release your wheels.

The E-Brake is more an on-off switch that instantly releases the wheels from lock, and the only delay is your reaction time.

A way around this is to use a minimal amount of braking force; just enough to keep the car from moving. Then, takeoff is much faster because the brakes let go much earlier. Using the right stick on a DS3 (Default Controls) is recommended, or if you have a wheel (and more crucially, pedals) this is even easier.

^A tactic I learned in False-Start racing.

Unless, of course, this is either old news or completely irrelevant. In that case, ignore what I said...

Anyone know Azzen(may have got his name wrong)?

He told one 3k tuner that he was cheating because he used e-brake. If i am not mistaken, i think most 3k tuners use the e-brake (insteady of regular brakes), including me when launching.

I/we dont do the trick and tap it for better traction though.

Do most 1/4 tuners use regular brakes and consider e brake cheating?

I wasnt sure what Azzen meant.

1/4 mile pro's don't use any kind of brake cheat or E brake mumbo jumbo bs. It's all in the tranny were our specialties come from. So if anyone want to do this e brake bs then go right ahead. But I can guarantee you guys every race you'll loose every 1/4 mile submission time will be unexceptable. And if you think your slick by posting an E brake time with the accurate G thinking your the best... I will beat your times!
