E-mail notification

After the server move I have been getting email notifications for replies to my subscribed threads. I have never turned that option on, the settings says "off". Just thought I'd let you know..

The "Use 'Email Notification' by default?" option in My GTPlanet simply subscribes you to any thread you reply in. Regardless of what this option is, you will receive email notification of new posts in any thread you are subscribed to, regardless of how you subscribed to it. You will need to unsubscribe from a thread if you no longer want to receive email notification from it. This will be changed in GTP6, when we upgrade to vB3.

Ah ok, I misunderstood that option. Anyway since the move I have been getting email about new posts in subscribed threads whereas before the server move I only got them as notifications on "My GTPlanet" page.

I have unsubscribed to all threads now so I'll see if this continues when I make a new subscription.

Btw will the strange action when you unsubscribe/subscribe that you get thrown out into the main forum index be removed? it's sort of annoying.

Well, our old server had a lot of problems, so there's no telling what the problem could have been. As for getting redirected to the main page...that is very strange. It doesn't occur for me - you should be redirected to the last page you viewed.

Ok, so the subscribe function was messed up before for me, but now is working as it should when I get emails.

Did some tests and the subscribe - thrown to main index was a firewall-related problem..
