I'm surprised we don't have one already given how good ED looks and how good the photo-mode is, so I will get the ball rolling.

Is that a pulsar?!
Yep. Or a neutron star, the same thing really. A pulsar is a neutron star, but a neutron star doesn't have to be a pulsar.

You can use those neutron stars for an extended FSD boost, you can jump a lot further. 👍

I'll have to get some good pictures tomorrow, all this time we've just been posting them in the Elite Dangerous thread. Good idea @Scaff.

Here's a few pictures of my Federal Corvette.

In certain shots, it kind of resembles an Imperial Destroyer.

I'll get some pictures of my Fer-De- Lance, Python and Imperial Cutter sometime. I can only take free camera mode for 10-15 minutes at a time, it drives me nuts.

More from me.

Is it me or is it getting warm in here?

I'm about halfway to Sagittarius A, I've been doing a lot of exploring. I'm getting bored exploring but I did find a couple of cool things so far.

IMG_4867.PNG

That's a Wolf-Rayet star, one of the rarest stars around. It looks like a normal white star, put it puts off a purple glow. A Wolf-Rayet star is rapidly consuming itself, burning energy at an exceptional rate. It will end up in a hypernova, and eventually explode into a gamma ray burst. That ones pretty close to the bubble, in Shapely 1.

A neutron star I found.

And a white dwarf star.

I'm zig-zagging out, following a scenic route, but it's taking awhile. I could probably come back in in just several hours if I don't explore and go in a straight line. I'm headed to The Stellar Forge soon, that's supposed to be the most amazing system in the game. I'll take lots of pics there, I'm more excited for that then Sag A.

I think some of the coolest scenery in the game is as you are approaching Nebulas. Here's a few shots as I approach the Heart and Soul Nebulas.

Believe it or not, there were two other stars close by. I just couldn't get them all in shot.

There is a system with two stars almost colliding and you will almost die from just going there. No idea what system it was but it was on my route.
If it had two other stars in it as well then I might have seen them. They were not orbiting each other but traveling on the same orbit but very close together quite near a station.

Scrolling through my screenshots I was apparently stupid enough to make a shot

Not usual to see a ring around a rocky body planet I thought to myself

But then again. What about a brown dwarf with a ring.

And finally. On this day, 14th January 2018, Tired Tyres became ELITE.

That was in Trade. Now I'm working on Exploration.

Ha, I remember that one from my first weeks into the game. A really stunning view.
Brave as I was, I bought a Type 6 and headed straight to the Pleiades to take part in a Trading CG. This particular planet has a planetary base that sold exactly what I needed, so headed down. Next thing I remember was that I smashed into the landing platform and admired my very first rebuy screen :dopey:

Turned out that this was a 4G beast and I had nowhere near the thruster power I actually needed for that.
This game can be so brutal at times :D

Thread resurrection from the 13th page down.

As an update to a picture I posted in the main Elite Dangerous thread, for the first time ever, I finished in the overall top ten in the trade cg.

My last day in the bubble before heading out on DW2 at 20:00 hours. Goodbye Altair. Goodbye Solo Orbiter. I'll be back in about 10 months or so. Keep the place tidy and don't let the Thargoids in.

Bonus image. I'd like to claim I have really good timing on taking this. But it was one of those game freezes that dropped just right.
