I'd take less poly counts on premiums for better looking standards any day.
In fact. I'd get rid of premiums and standards all together and just find a medium between the two. Take out the uber hi-res cockpits and make a lower poly version for all cars.
Just my opinion.
In my opinion it's embarrasing that we even have standards. When ever my friends come round, I try to hide the standards for as long as possible, because as soon as they see the low res cars the game is s**t in their eyes.
the team oreca vipers are low res
they kinda remain me of those donuts you know the Glaze Cream One so shiny
Of course, a straight line only needs two points. A computer can churn out enough straight lines to make your eye see a curve much faster than it can actually churn out the curve." - How Graphic Cards Work
Eh, I couldn't care less. There are over 1000 cars and 200 of them are perfect.
See how I'm positive? You should try this type of mentality.
Hmm NO.My solution: Use bumper cam when driving, never look at replays, problem solved.
Nobody denies that there are a lot of good looking standard cars. In fact, if you read this thread from the very beginning, you will notice that most people clearly say that most of the cars are good, and that they only came across few bad-looking examples. For every one standard car that looks like the Alto Works, there are three that look like this:

..But people don't like pointing out that a lot of the standards look amazing for cars that didn't have much work done to them. They just like trolling with the same images being reposted over and over.
You must have some very shallow friends, then.In my opinion it's embarrasing that we even have standards. When ever my friends come round, I try to hide the standards for as long as possible, because as soon as they see the low res cars the game is s**t in their eyes.

I'd rather they had fixed those textures as they said and not just shoved the cars out unchanged.Would you rather those cars not be in the game at all and not be able to drive them, or are you happy that they're here to drive even if they are balls of smudgy pixels?
Some (and I'd say it's a minority) of the standard model cars look very bad. Some look surprisingly good. However, when racing then I'd say the vast majority look fine. Often when driving I can't tell the difference between standard and premium cars - it only becomes apparent when viewing replays or in photo mode. But doesn't that show how bad the standard cars are??
i just don't understand how pd ever believed that they would get away with putting last generation console car models on the ps3 and not be heavily critsized for it.

Of course I prefer having the standards as they are if the alternative is not having them at all. I just don't understand why they put the cars in the game like this. Given the amount of work and attention to detail they put into the premiums, Kaz must have been very unhappy to be forced to use cars ported from GT4, a few even from earlier games ... but hey, **** happens!
But how in the name of all that's holy can he just rubberstamp them in their current state? This is a complete mystery to me. If I were him, I would have made damn sure that all of them at least fulfil a minimal graphical standard, which would be the standard of the better-looking ones. They knew for a long time that they would port these cars, and they didn't have the time to fix the textures on them? Sorry, I don't buy that. Or they didn't bother, which might be even worse.
If you look at the OP it says "new member" I'm sure it wasn't deliberate that he posted a topic that has been discussed before and considering that the majority of new threads posted are about things, that if you look hard enough you'll find hidden somewhere on the forums, I don't see why this thread is a problem.
...And the HPA Golf which is often said to look horrible but it looks just like the others while you're trying to drive your own race instead of searching for squished pixels in the rear door handles. And I'm playing through a Full HD Sony to begin with...
