If your best lap is invalid then you will be excluded from the round

This is why you should not let invalid laps count because its hard to beat them[e.g pull the plug lol], if you cant beat your time the only other solution is to make a new account[e.g EYS-Boy__Racer] and do your lap through that and when you post your time then you will still get your points added on to your normal account/name.

When I even feel like I get close to a wall I jump on the brakes and abandon the lap. My lap is very close to the outside wall, but it just misses it. I've done 15 laps, hopefully I get in another run. We will be checking all top ten runs I suppose for this event because of all the talk about walls. I thought London would've been more of a problem with the wall touching rule.

why not just go with the track rules for wall contact? it seems to me that the slightest touch causes an invalid lap anyways, and it will stop all the argueing. Being as i struggle to get in the top ten it dosnt affect me much, but for board harmony it sounds like something to consider in the future.

the game is hopeless at picking up contact with the wall.

You can slam into it fairly hard and get away with it, and other times you will just nick it and get penalised

Yep, that's why we don't do it.

uhh, says who. ? there are no rules to reflect this.
This is a major problem, as everyone outside the registered top ten could conceivably have dirty laps, and yet take competition points, possibly off faster drivers who are more than capable of doing a better 'clean' time.
I think this needs clarification from the organisers.

I couldn't have put it better myself........ the only true way to clarify a clean lap is replays from every entrant. Anything less and we are wasting our time.

If we are talking up wall touches as invalid, then the righthand side paving on entry to the last bend is also invalid as you technically have 4 wheels over the rumble strip....... which therefore isn't part of the track.

Oh, and Marky......... watched your replay.... there's a hell of a lot of luck in that lap. I've never seen anyone that close to the wall before without touching. Is there a touch? How can we truly be sure? The way your car behaves on entry to the lefthander onto the bridge makes me think you've brushed the wall.....

I didn't want to have to make everyone send in replays because it's a hassle. But if it's making everyone upset, we may have to do that.

osg, about your comment on the paving on the entry to the last corner. That is legal as you'll be able to see in the first post. All hard underground is part of the track(concrete area's, these are also the rules in the WRS).

No probs Mad, thanks for the clarification....... the rules are a little bizarre to me, but hey, they've been set so it's on with the show.

I've got a replay saved, not as fast as my "Invalid" lap but it's the best i can do i feel. (hope it's a clean lap dammit:grumpy:)

Maybe for this race and all the others we may have to ask for replays to be posted for veriftication because of all the dirty laps in the rankings. Last time I mentioned a slight change I got my head bitten off by everyone. Tell me what you think....

I'm up to 3rd with a clean lap(just) anyway. It is a 1'20.068, 0.003 behind markyboy92.

it's weird, but in a strange way, it brings the times closer together - you just better be sure it's not in the top ten if you do some skuffing.
I don't encourage it but.

Well we can check the top few replays[e.g top 6 drivers], if anybody lower wants to use the barrior then there not only cheating us but there cheating thereselfes to, most of the races there wont be any barriors to touch anyway.
Atleast then we ensure the big points are earnt farely.

lol yea, this competition in just for fun guys

No matter what the rules say, if your lap hits the wall you are breaking the rule of no wall taps/touches, pretty simple ae

Im really enjoying these "Enhance your skills" events. having alot of fun. Even though im not submitting my times because to be honest im not here for a competition im here to Enhance my skills. Markyboy's lap looked clean to me, maybe im wrong but it was a good lap. Im not to far off the times and will keep giving it horns. Nice work guys 👍

I have to admit it is very close to the wall but there is no touch, in order to get that kind of time, every corner has to be pretty much spot on. I will be amazed if anybody does a clean sub 1'20, doubt i will.

wow, you guys all have nearly perfect lap times here. Simply talented. 👍
I don't have much time to spend on GT now... and i am old (almost 30).
But anyway, nice to race with and learn from you guys. It's fun. :)

29 Your still young and pretty quick too, keep practising:tup:.

almost 30 ???!!!
ahhhh those were the days.
your very quick for a young fella ! heh 👍

Im 17 mad is 14 lol, youngest two are 1-2 early on.

oh i see, you are a senior member here. :sly: JK
I am trying hard to keep up with you.

Yep, the little younglings. Look at motorsport though, the average age is coming down.

1 year i hope to be as good as DHolland[i hope], which is a tall order, he has many more years experience with a wheel and actual real life experience[e.g go carting] were i dont, ive still yet to get within 0.15 of him at any combo, maybe this could be the first.

I'm very close to your time markyboy. I hope to be as good as Dan one day too. But I doubt it.

Hes a step above, simply to good for a ps3 to be honest and i probably will never be as good as him, when you look he has like one go and still nobody can beat him if they practise like all week, IFTC was slightly different, many incredible drivers but he still got 5/8 wins that he entered.

Thats what stuns me about Dan's ability, just 1 session and he is invariably, essentially unbeatable. And he can obviously dissect a lap with great skill, knowing that 20/100's can be taken off here or there, knowing how far off the perfect lap is, with uncanny accuracy. Very impressive.

Yep. Dan is a very impressive driver. I raced him and psycho_gtrp in an F2007 at fuji. Both of them were insanely fast and consistent. Great race between us 3 but I struggled to keep up with Dan.

Just had another go and came out at 38th.

Mad, I just had a thought....are you that young man who thwarted everyone at the Misubishi stand at the motor show last year? If it wasn't, he was around your age anyway. I came second overall...I know that much. (see what I can do with a wheel?....so much potential and yet I'm stuck with a 6axis!! - jokes). I wanted that jacket sooo much.
Anyway...just posted time to get me 19th (i think it was 1.20.577) and I'm pretty sure it was a clean lap - could have done faster if I wasn't paranoid about it all. Not sure I'm going to get another chance with half yearlys coming up but I'll try.
