If there's no unlocked car in Your garage list, there must be a software problem. But if You can't choose a car from Your garage it's ok, because You can choose Your car only from "Car change" option. Yet there's another important thing, that can cause this problem. You have to save every time You're winning a race. There's no auto save and when You play again after turning off the console, every progress in the game will be lost!

edit: ... is lost? / my perfect english :| sorry my grammar is rubbish

I'm having a bit of an issue and headache with the ranking points. I just can't figure out what's wrong and couldn't find any answer in the FAQ about it. Briefly, I'm losing them no matter what I do. Has anyone else experienced the very same thing?

Edit : It is perhaps worth mentioning that I'm two ''game-months'' into my second year after winning KoTY.

No idea, although I'm currently playing through the game now so if I run into anything I'll let you know. Now that I finally figured out how to gain ranking points quickly, I'm actually making progress! It's a wonderful feeling! :dunce:

Yes, please do! I've been skipping EL these last couple of days becuase of it.

:indiff:

Maybe it's because You're driving to fast car or not choosing RS races in which You can gain a lot of ranking points
In first half of a second year most of races wasn't RS and time to time a was loosing my place in ranking but nerver under 4th.

I've been suspecting that as the game has been only offering me RI races. I suppose they will be showing up later into my second year. Still wierd losing a few thousand points for no obvious reason.

Don't worry, it's very easy to find yourself in a position where you simply cannot maintain your ranking point total with the car you're driving. If it's too fast, or restricted from one of the special RS months, or you had some long-shot wins that can only happen on a few tracks, you won't be able to stay at the top. This especially makes sense for the start of your second year, since you stormed your way to the top of the ranks within the first year.

The game keeps track of how long you can stay above a certain rank. I think I managed to remain in the top 50 for 152 in-game weeks before giving up to chase down the rest of the car list in EL mode.

I've completely missed this answer. Thanks Wolfe! That explains everyhing, I guess. Will be spending a lot more time in EL further on now.

👍

Whoa, this surely reminded me how awesome the game was and still is, wish Konami made Enthusia 2 though...

I can't see that happening during my lifetime considering the fact that they don't even list the game on their website, regardless of choice of region. I sent them an email asking them why this was the case, only to get one of their lazy standard mails.

Guys, remember that the Enthusia's gameplay physics specialist now is part of the team of Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo making company) and it is the main reason why GT5 is such a nice sim in physics. So, it is nearly impossible to get an Enthusia 2.

Ok, I'm an happy camper because I got myself a working PS2 and dusted off my old Enthusia disc.

Yesterday.

Just by doing the first 5 or 6 levels of Driving Revolution I was already realizing - again - how ahead of time this game WAS and how great it still IS (I'm talking physics here).

Now, my problem:

Back in 2005, when I was a daily poster of this now deserted forum, I only had a low-tech Logitech DF (200º, no clutch, no gear shifter). Now, I have a G25. Not the best wheel available in 2013, but a fine one nonetheless.

I think Wolfe, and a few others from that era (maybe Scaff and Dave A too, not sure) were already the happy owners of G25 wheels and I think EPR was compatible with the clutch pedal and the gear shifter, but last night I didn't get them to work properly.

So I'd like to ask Wolfe (as author of this FAQ) or anyone else able to help if indeed I can setup the G25 to play EPR to its full potential, using the clutch and the gear shifter (both in sequential or H pattern).

Thanks in advance!

The H-shifter doesn't work, and the clutch in the game is a button, so in order to use it you have to work out an alternative solution. The sequential shifter should work, though. I believe you simply have to set it to upshift/downshift in the control options.

And I agree on your renewed thoughts. :) Last year, when Forza Motorsport 4 grew boring for me, I began playing Enthusia again. This summer, when Forza Horizon's DLC ended and the physics weren't quite giving me the experience I wanted, I began playing Enthusia again. There's just nothing else with the sort of lasting appeal and replayability that Enthusia offers with its excellent physics and creative tracks. 👍

Not the best news but thanks for clearing that up. Will try to set the sequential shifter then, and assign one of the wheel's buttons to the clutch.
Thanks.

On Enthusia ... just by totally unbalancing the car under braking one "gets" the difference between this game and whatever PD was making back then.

Popped in GT4 the other day, just to take a short break from Enthusia. Let's just say that it was probably the last time I did do that. I'll just leave whatever good memories I have left from GT4 alone.

And while we're at it - is there any (known) skill level cap in EL? I've been playing Enthusia extensively the last two weeks or so and I'm slowly reaching towards 100.

I've been meaning to answer your question, and I needed some more time in EL to figure it out. :)

The cap is in fact skill level 99. It took me until to today to notice it, because I've been level 99 for a while, and I've still been gaining XP; the catch is that it resets to 65300 every time you leave the post-race scoring screen. So if you get 207 level points from a race, it'll count to 65507 XP, but if you get 163 points from the next race after that, it'll end up at 65463 XP.

Thanks, Wolfe. That's good to know.

Looks like I've still plenty of playtime left then, until I reach skill level 99 that is. I'll have to throw myself into EL again and stop messing around in Free Race & Time Attack in the Saab 9-5 (I absolutely love Konami for including it and hate PD for still ignoring the brand completely).

I'm going to be coming back to this game in the next couple days. GT6 borked my PS3 so while that's being repaired I'm getting nostalgic for the game I remember being ahead of its time.

And if GT6 doesn't get an update to stop it being a disappointment for the more hardcore players, I may continue to play it long after my PS3 returns.

I never came close to completing EL all those years ago, but maybe I can now.

I think I agree. GT6 is not all I thought it was gonna be. Huge disappointment. Still, now I'm on to pc sims and two games that call themselves betas and don't pretend to be anything else.
Thank goodness my launch day ps3 is still going. Enthusia here I come again. Never played it to the end, but going to give it a good try. Here's hoping this forum gets back to life.

So is the R390, GT-One, and 787B are prize cars because i wanna use them in Enthusia Life.

I think you should be able to unlock those by lottery, from an RI event in a Class R car, or the RS races in November.

If you don't have access to any prototype racecars yet, you can try earning the 2003 Audi R8 from a One Make Race in the Honda NSX Type R (NA2) or Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür (R34). The NSX Type R is available from a One Make Race with the NSX Type S Zero.
One Make Races
......
RI
  • Use any car -- Win a Honda NSX Type S Zero
  • Use a Honda NSX Type S Zero -- Win a Honda NSX Type R (NA2)
  • Use a Honda NSX Type R (NA2) -- Win an Audi R8 Team GOH 2003 (Race car)
  • Use a Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II (R32) -- Win a Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür (R34)
  • Use a Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür (R34) -- Win an Audi R8 Team GOH 2003 (Race car)

Well, I'm glad this F.A.Q. was made; I was wondering where all of the race cars were at. It looks like I'll have to play this game for a while to get to RS. I'm at RII class.

This thread have been a tremendous help for me, personally. Still trying to get my hands on the Batmobile in EL, a.k.a bMW 3.0 CSL, as an opponent so I can finally win it. I've been trying a ton of car and track combination lately when choosing races and classes, but still nothing. Any suggestions would be great!

:P

Thanks, guys! I'm glad people are still enjoying the game or discovering it for the first time. :)

@MXHyland -- Fortunately, a while back I acquired the original Bradygames strategy guide (just to collect it), which has the solution to your search! The BMW 3.0 CSL was always an odd one out in the car list, and its hiding place in EL is equally odd -- it's a prize car for a unique RI event called "Good Old Touring Car Race". The entry requirement listed in the guide is neither helpful nor accurate ("for European touring cars"), but I dug around and was able to confirm several options for you to choose from:
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
  • BMW M3 Sport Evolution
  • BMW 2002 Turbo
  • Fiat Abarth 1000 TCR
  • Ford Mustang GT (1966)
  • Honda S800
  • Mazda Savanna AP GT
  • Mazda Savanna RX-7 GT-X
  • Morris Mini Cooper 1275S Mk1
  • Nissan Fairlady 240ZG
While I was in that section of the guide, I also noticed that the One Make Races for other prize cars are not open to all cars, but are actually limited to certain cars. I've updated the FAQ to include lists of those cars and how to unlock the 3.0 CSL.

I knew I should've bought the strategy guide while I was hunting for Enthusia a few years ago. This game surely is cryptic. Now, I can at last continue my journey to aqcuire all cars and get them to level 10.

:D

Much, much appreciated, Wolfe!

Just a quick update; I can now confirm that the bolded options do work in order for the event to show up. It's in rotation every 4th week, if I remember correctly.

As of yesterday evening, (having previously 100%-ed DR and FR a year ago or so) I now own every car in EL, at last.

@MXHyland -- The event will appear for all of them (eventually), I made sure of that. The Mini and 1000 TCR were the ones that gave me trouble.

I presume the WRC Xsara in EL has to be won in a lottery, not from a list of prizes...? :)

Yep, you'll have to use one of the other rally cars and find a race with an Xsara for your opponent.

So... very good game. Impressive
