Enzo time on Nordschleife?

I just want to know if anyone here know if the Ferrari Enzo (not the FXX) has an official or unofficial time around the Nürburgring Nordschleife?
I´ve done some searching both here and on the rest of the net, but came up emptyhanded.
The reason I want to know is that I´ve read about the Porsche Carrera GT and the Koenigsegg CCR doing hot laps there. Would be interesting to know if the Enzo can put up a challange. It should, but considering the times the other two cars did, it´s surely a challange! The CCR did 7:34, and I belive that is a track record for production cars. I´m not sure what the CGT did, but it seems like 7:40, with an estimated time of 7:32 under better circumstances. The CCR did not run under optimum conditions either, so they also estimated the time could be somewhat better.
Does anyone know if the Enzo has a time?
 
The track record for production road cars is well under the Koenigsegg's 7'34... The Donkervoort and Radical SR8 certainly have something to say about that - with the Radical recently taking the record at 6'55.

I've no idea about the Enzo though. Sorry.

The Veyron should be amusing though. It handles well and is twice as quick from 0-186mph as the Carrera GT.
 
The Enzo has run the ring.... Never, it got taken to the Ring by some magazine for a shooout with the Carrera GT and a Koenigsegg or Pagani, can't remember which. They decided not to run the Enzo since the Enzo would have hit the track over several of the bumps and cause damage to the car. The Enzo will probably never lap the ring in real life, no-one will want to damage it so much.
 
But they run the Fxx every now and then it seems? Isn´t that car even lower than the original?

To Famine: ok, didn´t know that the radicals were production road cars. Not the Donkers either.

The Veyron would be interesting though. Should beat the CCR´s 313 kph on Döttinger Höhe. Only a matter of time, I´m sure.

Damn it's that low? God my truck has nothing on that :lol:. But I think there is just a point when it's pointless to have something that low, I mean the 'Ring is a "public road" or something to that effect right? Whats the point of building a road car that can't make it down a road?
 
Yeah to drive the Enzon say around South Manchester you'd need to press a switch that raises the nose of the car, it was designed so you could go over speed bumps but you'd need it raised to go around the Ring, and that would take a large chunk out of the cars performance.

With regards to the FXX I haven't seen any references saying it's been driven there, if it has then I'm sure they raised it a little.

As for the Veyron, someone has driven it round the Ring as reported in Wheels magazine and it did a 7'40 lap, no idea who the driver was or how busy the track was but if anyone in Australia knows more info is always appreciated. I'd expect it to go faster than that tbh.
 
7:40 is still very fast, and the Veyron is a heavy car, so maybe a 2 -3 sec shave is possible. But I belive it can do better than the CCR´s 313 kph (about 195 mph), wich is currently a recordspeed on Nordschleife.

Yeah but because the Z06 is cheaper it's so much easier to puch without worrying about wrecking it :lol:

Just kidding. The Veyron lap hardly seems an official on so I would guess it cound do better simply from the reports on its handling.

Yeah but I've always said lap times don't always make a great car. The fact the Donkervoort is faster than the Carrera GT doesn't make it a better car it's cheaper than the Z06 too but it's not as good a car as the Z06, just more track suited. Besides that, I reckon that the Veyron lap was timed by someone watching them doing the final car testing at the ring before the first cars were done and delivered, in which case, I highly doubt it's legs were being stretched fully.

Yeah, but deciding which one's better depends on whether you want a bargain semi-practical street-legal-track-star supercar...

...or a luxurious über-performance grand tourer that's nothing more than a fantastical demonstration of engineering.

The Veyron wll easily beat the production car record. It will do a sub-7 minute time I'm sure. That car is so unbelievably fast it's godly. I'd also be curioius to see the new Zonda F's time on the 'ring. *nevermind just found it* Seems like it was too slow...

And, if I was rich enough to buy a damn Enzo I'd put it in the hands of a race driver and let that guy or gal race my damn car on the 'ring just because...so what if they did $100k worth of damage it would be the first.

I doubt it'll pull 45 seconds of it's current recorded lap. It might get low 7'30's possibly, possibly high 7'20's but that might be wishfull thinking.

8 mins, thats very, very slow. It'd be similar to the Carrera GT. The bottom line is, you race the Enzo round the ring, you pay a large repair bill afterwards.

Guess what? The cars are made for different purposes. Apples and oranges, you could say. Except the apple has a bajillion horsepower.
 
You can't sit here and tell me the Bugatti wasn't made to be a race car, hello, anyone home McFly? They put 1000hp in it, trust me it's ment to own on the track. The Vette was designed to race as well, but with half the power.

Anyone with common sense knows that race cars (or "race cars for the road" as cars like the CGT and Enzo are known) are supposed to be light. Anyone with the same common sense knows that a V16 with four turbos is not lightweight.

The Bugatti weighs 4100+ pounds. In no point in its design process did someone want to build a lightweight race car. We all know the Z06 was meant to race, it was designed to and from the C6R, especially with the LS7. The Veyron will NEVER see any sort of similar program. Ever.

If the Bugatti weighed in at 4100 pounds then its power to weight ratios would be well 4.1. The Z06 comes in at 3,132 and 505hp coming in a 6.2.

The Bugatti has a better power to weight ratio so it shouldn't matter. The car can be heavy, but it has the power to make up for the weight. I don't see your point. Based on power alone the Bugatti should have been a lot faster.

And knowing Bugatti's racing past I bet they try there hand at a race version of the car.
 
No, the Veyron is an engineering project to get Bugatti back into the public eye as a supercar producer. It's a well-known fact they aren't going to turn a profit, or even come near it. Power to weight ratio isn't everything, I mean the only reason it even has a chance is because of its massive engine. That's really what the car is- the engine. Sure, it can handle well, but not great.

I mean, the Arnage T has 650lb-ft of torque and it will get flat-out pwnd by any reasonable sports car on a track. It doesn't matter though, because that's not what the Arnage was really designed for. That's a grand tourer.

Or maybe people are finally willing to admit the Z06 is the best buy for the money and is truely a supercar...but until then, I will stand that the Bugatti should have gone much fast and owned a car that has half its power.

You're arguing rather hard for what is really a moot point. :indiff:

The Veyron is a "Hey, look what we can do!" car. That's it. It isn't even really practical or driver-friendly enough to be a good car for street use. :rolleyes:

Who cares if the 'Vette beat the Bugatti 'round the 'ring? I doubt very many people were surprised by this, and it doesn't detract from the purpose of the Veyron. It's like if a highschool swimming team champion beat a muscle-bound Olympic weight-lifter in a race across the pool. :rolleyes:

As for your "maybe people will admit now that the Z06 is great" comment...are you on some sort of personal vendetta, here? :odd:
 
Veyron vs Vette is utterly insane. Just about the only things they have in common are wheels.

Bugatti Veyron was simply made to be the fastest production car ever made, with no concerne of costs. That, and to put the Bugatti marque on the map again.

Chevrolet Corvette has always been about money. The concept of it was to make a cheap, affordable sportscar for the people, and so they did. And that is what Corvette is, a cheap, highperfomance sportscar!

And thats the main difference; Veyron is made for Bugatti, and Vette is made for the people! I wouldn´t translate this into competition...

After buying Bugatti, the boss of VW wondered what to do with the name. He announced that they would build a car that had 1000bhp and would do 400km/h (250mph). The engineers were left thinking, "How do we do that?" The Veyron was designed around those 2 criteria.

According to Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear), it costs Bugatti £5million to build each one, yet they seel it for £800,000. It is a technological engineering excercise to see if it could be done.
