Has anyone seen or heard from Earth in the last few days? If he is still alive, he had better be trying to run a time to compete with me! But yeah, he hasn't been around for a few days.

this website won't let me send a pm but the answer to your pm is yes

im still here just real busy = reason for my low post count

Yeah, I had lots of things to do as well. I still haven't practiced with the Toyota 7 and the deadline is soon. I do my best to do both races, but I might give up with the Toyota 7, since I have more chances in the GT class.

Well, I have nothing for you DE. I know the time is on the track still, but I can't stick it all together in one lap. Good job. 👍

I ran my race today too. The first half was a train-wreck. The second half was ok though. I think I'll do a report this week, so I'll put everything in there.

Don't beat yourself up, that was a hell of a lucky lap in a hell of a car, and after I'd done two hours of the track in the race the day before

I know what you mean about the creation of a perfect time... There's always some improvement, but it's so much more difficult to get the rest of the track as fast as before!

Good to hear you found a rhythm in the later stages of your race 👍 mine was the other way round in LMP :irked: but in the GT-R LM I encountered no problems at all. Lovely car.

Not to be annoying, but my Ford GT time is 1'17.900, not that slower time what's put in the leaderboard right now :)

Anyway, I finally took the Toyota 7 to qualify and I now have a 1'12.847 There is place for improvement (only tested for less than an hour), but I want to focus on the race strategy. If I try hard enough, I might be able to beat Mulsanne, but I don't see teh point of it right now.

Anyway, my split times:

Team Toyota / Sjenk / Toyota 7
T1: 15.752 ; T2: 48.013 ; SF: 1'12.847

Nice one Sjenk, and sorry about the inaccuracy in the leaderboard, I'll sort that out when I get time 👍

I've just put in my final qualifying session at Infineon, and I'm stupidly close behind bhawk's Bentley but there's no way I can get time to do better. There's over two tenths out there somewhere.

Champion Racing / Dark Elite / Audi R8
T1 - 0'15.342
T2 - 0'46.317
SF - 1'10.055

Quite disappointed with not taking the five points again, but oh well. 👍

DE

Qualifying ends very soon but I'm not too worried seeing that I am very poor at this track

lol, so you don't qualify this time? :p Even if you're last? (btw, even you can beat me in the LMP class :p)

Edit: Well, I did a night run in the Toyota 7 and I'm now 0.060 faster: 1'12.787

Team Toyota / Sjenk / Toyota 7
T1: 15.617 ; T2: 47.932 ; SF: 1'12.787

Edit 2: Earth, is there a possibility you can delay posting the race results until Wednesday evening American time? Yes, I could have done the races earlier, but I still need to do both races. I can do one race today and tomorrow I won't be able to do the 2nd race before 6 pm local time (that's something like 1 pm in the US). Of course, if the other drivers agree with it as well :)

Sjenk
(btw, even you can beat me in the LMP class :p)
Harsh

I'm putting up the last qualification times now, I just need Earth to finalize them :)

Disappointed about not getting both sets of 5 points, but I can make do with the GT Class, that's the one I wanted anyway ;)

Well, I now did a test run with the Ford GT... omg, those LMP/Group C drivers are really slow :/

Anyway, I'll do another test soon and after that I'll start the race (and see if I can turn my 4th qualification time into a podium ;))

Edit: Well, I did the first race now (Ford GT) and all I can tell is that I found this race a lot more entertaining, since I had some competition in the race this time.

Edit2: I see that the Toyota 7 qualification time is wrong, it's 1'12.787, not 1'12.847 :) (ok, doesn't really matter, but 0.060 faster IS 0.060 faster ;))

I'll post the results Thursday

Ah ok, thank you :) I think I will have this race done at 12 pm local time (7 pm US time?) Not 100% sure, but I'll do everything I can to finish the race :) (And after that I'll do some qualification runs with the Motul car for the 200 miles race in Laguna Seca (Mulsanne's spot race)

Edit: I just had to finish this race. It's 3 am here right now

I finished the race, but I forgot one thing: To save the replay...

I wrote everything down though, so I don't need the replay this time. The only downside is that I can't provide some screenshots this time. Well, I still have the Ford GT replay ;)

See what I mean? Did you beat them?

Sorry again for messing up a time on the leaderboards... Don't seem to be able to stay on top of it this time :dunce:

Oh, Earth? Just wondering, but are you planning to put in a Christmas/New Year break? If we do Fuji starting next Tuesday it won't be finished in time, but if we can find some way to get it in before Christmas it would be handy, because it's the halfway point in the season so we could have a one or two week break with two uses, see what I mean? The only problem is getting Fuji in. What do you think?

DE

So you're suggesting that we should start Fuji right now? I don't mind that (it's just 2 hours). I wouldn't mind if this round starts today.

DE, could you say then what your R8 top speed is there? I can't get faster than 335 km/h (or something like that), so I have a disadvantage there. If the new thread starts, can you also put a laptime in the new thread? (If I'm >4 seconds slower it's getting useless ;))

And btw, I don't answer your first question

I'm not sure what we could do with Fuji, we could always start it on Tuesday and pull it out until after new year, but I'm sure Earth can find a better solution. Equally, we could just ignore Christmas and New Year completely, which might actually suit me better. Earth's call.

Sjenk, I haven't tested at Fuji yet, but I expect I'd be doing about 240mph at Fuji 80's. (around 385km/h)

Oh, and that begs the question - which version of Fuji are we going to be at, Earth?

DE

Well, since there is only one Fuji endruo, maybe it would make sense that we would go to the version that the race is held on.:p :dunce: I don't remember which one it is though. It's been a long time since I ran that race.

And where are the results. I want results! NOW!

No rush, just playing aorund. :D:lol:

hmm hmm, 50 km/h faster.. eeh  Well, let's see what I can do when the 3rd event starts :p

Well, right now I'm also busy with Mulsanne's spot race (qualification), but yes, I'm looking forward to the results :) Maybe I grab the podium, but I can't imagine that I would win this time.

Anyway, I hope to see the Laguna Seca race report soon :) (and this one as well of course :p)

So, Electric, you're saying that if it's OK for your results for Race 2 come in at 2200, then you carry on otherwise you bail out?

3. Electric..... ?????? 83 laps complete

4Smuttney Spears / Nissan GT-R LM/77 completed @2:00'54

Congrats to Dark Elite and Sjenk, but look at that GT finish! 1.715 was all that seperated Dark Elite and Sjenk

But I'm sure Dark Elite will be satisfied with his LMP win.

Andge01, ls_297 and Earth all were no shows. We know Earth WILL be back next race but no news on the others.

I WILL be more involved with the next event in Fuji. After adding an extra week for this race I thought I had a tonof time but soon the days started flying by and coming home from work I was getting more and more tired but
it ultimately comes back on my irresponsibility which I promise to fix.

I will be a better host, you will see that next race.

It's 1.215 actually ;) (losing 0.5 due to 4th qualification position)

Anyway, OMG, what a close race. I'm sure DE won't be happy if he see this :p I must admit I NEVER thought I would actually win. DE said that he was able to beat the CPU with more than 1 minute difference. I had a lead of 'just' 45 seconds. That was the main reason why I thought I would lose with 20 seconds or something like that. That's also the reason why I kept quiet :p But a victory with 1.215 difference after 2 hours of racing is just insane. I can't describe it in any other way. Thats something like 0.015 seconds I won per lap on average :p

I can be proud of my LMP achievement as well. I'm 3rd with just 13.4 seconds difference between me and Mulsanne. I made a lot of mistakes in the Toyota 7 (again). I lost a lot of seconds in that race. In the Ford GT race I made 3 small mistakes..that's it. :)

Btw, where is bhawk776? He's not in the list of people who forgot to submit a time :)

Holy crap! A podium was the last thing I expected, considering how far off the pace I was, even after throwing every set-up I could find at the car and how crappy my race went.

Congrats to Dark Elite. 👍 Worst to first! Care to share your set-up? :)

Also congrats to Sjenk. 👍 A very close race there. Nice job!

Earth, don't worry. You're doing a great job running this series and I know we all appreciate you giving us a place to race our LMP and GT cars. 👍 👍
BTW, did you get my PM about the Laguna report?

Also, it's Fuji 90's for the 1000 kms. My favorite version of that circuit. :)

I'm wondering on what kind of strategy DE was driving. I think I know in which part of the race I made the final gap to win the race.

Yes!

Thanks for the congratulations everyone, and my hat is most officially off to Sjenk for beating me in GT by such an incredibly close margin! Awesome! ! !

My driving style in the R8 was just natural - what I mean is, I didn't adjust my style at all, I just drove like it was a normal sprint race. And as a matter of fact, I ran out of fuel at one point! Congrats to Mulsanne and Sjenk, especially Sjenk for coming so close to the V12 LMR in a handicapped Toyota 7! :)

Love you all guys. Great racing. I don't mind losing to you by that much Sjenk

There'll be plenty of time to share settings at the end of the series

Working on the leaderboard update now!

EDIT - Leaderboard Updated

Unless my calculations are incorrect, me and Mulsanne are both on 335 points... A dead tie for the LMP championship lead! Come on Mulsanne, this is how it's meant to be!

DE

lol no, I don't want settings, I was thinking about your tire choice :) Did you had a situation like this: In the end of the race you had to go to the pits, but you had to go for less than xx laps, so you could use softer tires. Did you had that situation? :) (If not, I know why I won this race :p and that makes it even more spectacular :p)

And thanks for the compliments of course :) You did a fantastic run with the Audi R8 too :) Did you really ran out of fuel? How many seconds did you lose with that? That would be nasty if that kills your performance :/ Anyway, if you did, you might have done another lap, so we would be 4 laps behind you :p

I still can't believe I won the GT race :p And with that margin! You drove like mad as well and therefore it's still weird that you beat the AI with >60 seconds and I beat them with 45 seconds and you're still behind me :/ Well, I can't complain :p I didn't like this track at all, but now I won the race with this gap, I like it more than before :p

In the R8 I had the same tyre compound all the way through, but in the GT-R I had to pit less than four minutes away, and I put R5s on there. Sorry to disappoint, but that can be seen as a last-ditch effort in the attempt to catch you, and it nearly worked!

Thanks for the compliment :) Running out of fuel in the R8 made me swear very loudly, but did very little else - as you'll read in the race report, I hope, it happened just after the pitlane entry, so I just spun her round and back into the pits. So I lost about forty seconds, but I couldn't have done another lap, as it was at time 2:43'30 that it happened! !

Yep, I really did drive hard there in GT, and with a lot of practice behind me too, but still you were faster! Fantastic show. I'd never liked Infineon either, in either of it's forms, but now I think I've been cured of my allergy after well over six hours at it... Great!

DE

lol hahaha , I changed to R4's in the last few laps :p So we really had a tough fight, even in the last few laps :p So we were very close all race long. Normally I would wait for a race report, but I really want to know what the 30 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes splits are :p

Cool... So we were battling it out right to the wire, even if we were actually physically on the track at the same time it would have looked like it was rigged!

Brilliant!

Oh yeah, the half hour and ninety minute times... There's a problem, because I forgot about that - I only took down the 1-hour split. I'd done... *grabs sheet of notes from desk* 42 laps at one hour. How's that for consistent

DE

Why didn't you post the other results too earth? I was 2 laps down, but I'd still like to see it on the leaderboard. :indiff:

Great job Sjenk and DE in your wins. 👍
