Oh yeah, happy Birthday DE! :) I wanted to say that earlier, but I forgot it :( :p

And yes, I agree with DE. Maybe it's better to wait one week before entering the next round. But then everyone must be fair and do not test in that week :) An example is the spot race Mulsanne will organize in the beginning of december. If we skip a week, everyone can focus on that one and after that, everone can go back to the ESES. I give this example since even the ESES host is entering that race :p

Btw DE: Why don't you join that race as well? :) You can't choose the Nissan anymore ( :sly: ), but still, I would like to race against you there :p

ive lowered my prediction of a 1'09.85x to a 1'09.5xx for the pole. There isnt going to be an R8 on pole twice in a row!
 
Ok, I've improved my Ford GT time. I've seen places where I can win some time, but other than that this was a very nice lap.

Difference with DE's times:
T1: -0.210 ; T2: -0.063 ; SF: +0.703

I'm really curious why I'm losing 0.8 seconds in the last sector... :/

Edit: Difference with Electric's times:
T1: -0.030 ; T2: +0.533 ; SF: 0.628

Ok, what can be achieved on this track if you look at the current best T times?

Fastest T1 time: 16.588
Fastest T2 time: 33.950 (I lose 0.563 here)
Fastest T3 time: 26.304 (I lose 0.766 here)

Calculated lap: 1'16.842 (I lose 1.329 in total)

Funny: I have the fastest T1 time, Electric the fastest T2 time and DE the fastest T3 time :p

Edit 2: DE, you did a quick Audi R8 lap, but the lap on the leaderboard is 0.8 seconds slower? What happened there?

bhawk776, no, I think he said that he put his 'old' time on the leaderboard and then he improved to the time that has been posted here.
 
I have now got a 1'20.xxx post the proper time tomorrow. 👍

I don't think i have the setup right cause i can get the driving line easy. :guilty: :ouch:
 
I've improved my lap a bit. I have to say though that the last sector ruined my lap... :/ I was able to go almost 0.4 seconds faster... :/

Well, my original plan was to test the Toyota 7 on Sears Point tomorrow (finally), but I now just need to get a 1'17.xxx, I know it is possible.
 
Oh! Sorry for any confusion, I must have typo-ed whats in this thread. The splits are correct, and I think the final time on the leaderboard is the right one. I'll have to check as soon as I can, but I'm sure that the final time on the leaderboard is right. Don't know how I posted wrong on either of them, I'll have to check that out :dunce:

I'll get set up for Mulsanne's GT race as soon as, I'm too pushed for time at the moment, sorry again. Hopefully everything will calm down soon :)

I drove really hard there, in fact it's the only part of the lap I can never keep up with :p

UPDATE - Yes, the time on the leaderboard for my R8 was correct... was.

I've just improved a little to take second, I think there's a little more there but I can't see a 1'09.XXX time any time soon. Kudos to you ls2, you're pretty fast here :)

I FINALLY got a time under 1'18.000!

Omg, you don't want to know how frustrating this has been. On Thursday I've put this time: 1'18.171
On Friday I tried my best and this happened:

1'18.140
1'18.083
1'18.068

I stopped after this, because I was getting very frustrated. I wanted to go under 1'18.000 (I did not even try to be better than DE) and this is what happens.

I took a break on Saturday and I grabbed the DS2 again on Sunday.... :/

Well, I first got a 1'18.039 After lots of laps I got a 1'18.025 and I was really getting *beep* off...

...

...

And I finally did it! A nice and clean 1'17.900!

Well, I can see that I lose more than 0.2 seconds in the first sector, but the rest is nice. And that means I'm finally less than 0.5 seconds behind DE and that was my mission. Now I'm finally able to test the Toyota 7 :)
 
Ok, I now must contribute to the leaderboard. With a blazingly fast attempt today, I managed to bring myself to where I said I was. :lol:

I really stepped it up in that last sector. Major time improvement. Really got sideways in a couple of corners, but that didn't take anything away. I think this is all the testing I will do, unless I have to improve my time further to get pole.

Well since Dark Elite leap frogged me to take 2nd place from me :grumpy: , I had to ran again to see if I could pick up the time I left on the track. I'm very happy with the result.

If I had to guess, I'd guess you are loosing your time in turn 10. If you get on the breaks really early, and accelerate over the rumble strip, you can shave large amounts of time off. You only need to tap the brakes though, just to get the car to turn in. ;) (this is what I do with my Zonda, but I don't know the handling characteristics of the GT-40 S2.)(Feel's awkward trying to help a WRS Div 1 driver. :p)

And then again, your GT-40 S2 may not have great top end at the end for the back part of the course.

Well, the fact is that I indeed only tap the brakes at that turn. The speed I have there is 235 km/h (146 mph) if I do it good. I've looked to the track map on the infineon site and I think it's all done in turn 8 and 11, but I need to see my replay again for that. Otherwise I don't have a clue what I did wrong as well.

As expected I didn't had time today, but I'll try it again tomorrow :)

ejr, your time loss theory agrees with mine... Countless times I've had a fast time and lost it there by over-braking. Turn 11/12, depending on how you count them, (just before the final hairpin) is another place much the same, only a little easier. If you've got the wrong line, you can't get through nearly as quick, and consequently you drive slowly when you have got the right line! :rolleyes:

You're right ejr, but he didn't post a lot in the last race thread either - he just drove fast! :lol: I ran the race GT Class last night, and it was absolutely fantastic. I loved every minute!
