How typical that I also did 42 laps in one hour eh? :p

Dark Elite
Unless my calculations are incorrect, me and Mulsanne are both on 335 points... A dead tie for the LMP championship lead! Come on Mulsanne, this is how it's meant to be!

DE

You're exactly right...that is how it's meant to be. 👍 But I think you're going to solidify that lead in the next race or two, unless I can pull something out of my 2500+ miles BMW.

Then again, maybe not, as I knew Sears Point would be my worst race, and I love Fuji, Le Mans and Suzuka, so who knows how this will play out. Really, I don't care about the championship as much as I want to win a 🤬 on-line race! Something I've never done, despite countless series and spot races going back to GT2. :banghead:

Anyway, it looks like I'm going to have to raise the money for a new BMW. Back to the DTM I go. :)

lol, Sears Point isn't really a favourite track for many people :p The people who loved the track didn't race and those who hate it did! :p

Hey, you class 2500miles as a far-gone car? My R8 has 1900 miles on the clock, and I haven't even thought about replacing her :)

I love Fuji, I love Le Mans even more and I love the Nordschliefe... But I dislike Suzuka :p so let's see how this pans out... I thought my championship was lost after my dead-last finish at Laguna, but perhaps I've got a chance :)

Very

Cheers ejr. But... Do you mean, you sent in results before the deadline and they weren't posted? That totally defeats the point of this championship :odd:

Earth, what else has been missed out here?

DE

Well, maybe he submitted his time when the PM system wasn't working for a whie (the site was down a few days ago right?).

Anyway:
Mulsanne
BTW, did you get my PM about the Laguna report?
Yeah, I would like to know that, because I really want to see what happened in the race :)

Dark Elite

Yes, the results were sent before the deadline. It looks like earth has only posted the top 3 in each class. If your keeping track of the points on the leaderboard, I think you (DE) should be in closer contact to make sure you have all the times.

If they were lost I can re-submit them, because I have the sheet sitting infront of me that has all the race info on it.

All I want are some points. Please oh please give me some more points.

Well, maybe you can answer a question I've been trying to get answered for the longest time. How many miles do you have to put on it before it's a far-gone car? I had originally bought the BMW to do the Le Sarthe I 24 Hours, but never got around to it. With all these horror stories I read about the car's handling turning to crap about 12-14 hours into the race, I dread using a high-mileage car and have thought about buying a replacement to do the Vingt-Quatre Heures. So what do you think? Could I use my current BMW at Le Sarthe, or should I buy a replacement?

I have PM'd my results in (This Time :dunce: ) to Earth but my time was never posted. Not that it was that good anyway  :)

Good race by the way you guys. Really close in the end there :sly:

Keep it up.
Where is the report from the first race ??

Cheers
SS

Well, it seems a little disorganization has crept in... Earth?

I think it would be best if you posted up all the results you have, after all the points are all that matters in this kind of championship, and we leave the Fuji race until January - Thus, we will all have a break over the holiday season and Mulsanne will hopefully be able to catch up with the reports as well.

I'm terribly sorry for not responding earlier guys. due to several personal reasons i have not been able to go online the last few days. I am embarrased to say the least. Smuttneyspears I dont know how but I over looked your time. i will update the standings.

yes I feel this series slipping out of control, but I have several ideas to help

1. The Fuji race will be postponed until January as DarkElite suggested

2. The race lengths will be cut again to 1 hour for LMP and 1 hour for GT for the next 4 races. This should increase turnout and help last minute guys.

3. If Dark Elite accepts I will put him in charge of anything and everything if I am not able to be here as often as I would like. This way if one of us has to be gone the other can direct the series. No, I am not going to drop everything on him, but I will be here as much as possible too. It seems that if I dont show for a few days people think I belled out or I'm dropping the series. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I thought you guys would have cursed me by now for being gone so much but the idea you are still sticking with me is commendable and I am extremely appreciative. I really admire the loyalty of the men who are still here.

Any ideas or suggestions please let me know

Nah, i dont think we're going any where. Your doing your best, and i can totally understand, how hard it is to just compete in a major series like this, let alone run this on your own.
You "handing" over the reigns just shows how well you know your self, and makes you stronger for it.
I hope that we do hear more from you throughout the series. 👍

Thanks you for all the time and your effort. 👍

SS

Please don't change the races to 1 hour lengths. This is an endurance series, and to me, 1 hour race lengths are sprints. I enjoy the 2 hour events, or even longer.

Also, I don't think your a bad host, but I do want to see everyone's time posted. Everyone cannot be online all the time, and if I ask where you are, I'm just wondering, not questioning your ability as a host.

As I've said a million and one times, I love this series. 👍

No problem mate, if you're not able to get online, we can't blame you.

Is fine by me. I know from myself that when I play too much GT4, I lose interest in it fast.

What ejr_1 said. I'd suggest to keep the 2 hour races and turn the 3 hour races into 2.5 hour races. 1 hour is just far too short.

I don't mind being a co-host either. I've finished my final exam in May/June and I decided to take a 1 year break to get a job to get some money and I want to try get a real drivers licence before I go to the university. Until I get that job (still don't have one :ouch: ) , it means that I have a huge amount of time now to do other things. I'm online for at least 6 hours per day, so I have more than enough time to do things for the ESES ;)

Earth

Again don't worry ;) This is the kind of series I wished for when I wanted to make my return in GT4 (yeah, ESES got me playing GT4 again ;)), so why would I leave the series?

OK thanks for the input ejr_1, smuttneyspears and Sjenk

If you guys want to keep the race times at 2 hours that is fine with me.

Sjenk if you would like to help run ESES that would be fine with me the more the better.

Glad you guys like this series. I do too and I want to keep ESES alive, even into a second season.

ejr_1 and everybody else thanks for the support. I really hate it I didnt run race #2. You have no idea how much it eats at me. I will try not to not worry about it but I'm not sure I can. Only way to make up for that disaster is to make Fuji the best race so far.

I will think about this for a bit and post a reply detailing all the plans I have for ESES concerning the immediate and distant future.

Once again, thanks for the support. You have no idea how much that means to me.

First of all, thank you very much Earth for even considering me as a takeover from yourself. It would be my pleasure. However, I think you are a great host and should keep the series up - But, if it's too much trouble I would be happy to take over and carry on the series. I can do as little or as much as you want me to, it's not a problem at all.

Glad to hear that the Fuji race is put back to give us a break. Cheers for that.

If I were to run the series, I would keep the race lengths in the original schedule for LMP, but also keep the GT races down to two hours.

Whatever you decide to do Earth, it's fine by me. But you've listened to input so much up to now, I'm sure you'll do the right thing, whatever it may be.

👍

Sjenk if you would like to help run ESES that would be fine with me the more the better.
Actually, I think it's just confusing with lots of people running it... Whoever you choose to 'take the reigns', as Smuttney said, should be one person, to avoid confusion of roles, resposibilities etc.

Earth
Once again, thanks for the support. You have no idea how much that means to me.
Always here for ya baby ;) :)

I too would like to add my appreciation and thanks to Earth for giving us a series to race in. 👍 👍 Hey, when you get everything sorted, we'll still be here for you.

Re: Race lengths - Since I'm only doing the LMP class, I'd really like it if the race lengths were to stay the same. I'm not a big fan of the sprint races that seem to be popular here and other sites. Much like real sports car racing, GT4 endurance racing is a niche in the OLR community and personally, I'm happy to see it that way. We have a core group who are honest racers and all-around good people to "talk" to. I know it sometimes may seem like a lot of trouble to go through for only three or four participants, but if we try too much to appeal to the masses, we lose our identity as the finest OLR endurance series.

*Nods sagely* You're one hundred per cent right with that.

Sorry for double-post, but I'm kinda hoping it will serve as some kind of revival :nervous:

I've redesigned the leaderboard, spreading it over three pages now:
One to serve as a homepage, with the points system, the current individual points standings and the teams standings, and
One for each event, with the qualification results and final race results on the same page.

'Team's standings', I hear you ask? Well no, I don't hear you actually, but I just thought I'd draw attention to this - I've put together a team standing table for each Class, showing which team is currently winning the battle of the Series! To show any imbalances, I also put the names of each team's drivers in the same table, thus showing the number of drivers in each team. Hope it's useful.

I hope this new system will be altogether easier to get around and less cluttered. The homepage is here.

Any comments/suggestions are welcome :)

DE

Very nice. 👍 No more damn scrolling. :)

Wow, I think I'm going to get owned in the teams championship. Come on people, we need more drivers.

Thanks.

 I think I know why too, it's the damned Skyline slipstream mission you have to beat to get the car! I haven't done it myself :indiff:

I think Ford should get one more driver, so it's a fair fight between them and the Squadron :)

DE

I'll be like the lone Saleen S7-R in the ALMS.

Yeah, that mission was really hard!!!, but I really wanted the Zonda!!!!!!! Now I only have mission 34 to do. But I don't plan on doing it anytime soon.

I'll be like the lone Saleen S7-R in the ALMS.
Yeah! you're doing pretty well for saying we outnumber you, though! Keep it up :p

I hate to say it, but I've done Mission 34. I tried it for weeks and weeks, then gave up. A few weeks ago, about three months after my last try, I took another shot. And did it second time, by three seconds. There was no screams of glory, just a stunned silence.......

DE

what has happened to the series?? about time we started the next race.. looks like we have had some issues with ownership and the running of the series.... but im dying to have another crack at yous all in another enduro

I've been thinking the same. I'm waiting for Earth to surface with some news, I sent him a PM a week ago, I'll send him another if he doesn't come up by Sunday. However, this is taking a long time... If he doesn't show up in two weeks, I may have to take over.... :nervous:

DE

 What on earth happened to earth. I miss this. I think it's time you step in DE, or Sjenk. Who ever feels up to the task of taking over.

Well, I said in my PM (sent on Monday) that if he didn't reply within two weeks, I would take over the Series. I don't really want to have to handle the times, because it means I would have to drop out of the Series myself, and I want to try and win. It'd be a hollow victory if I won a series I was running.

EDIT - I've just checked his profile - last activity, 13th December 2005.
