Ever tried playing with a cast on your hand?

Well that's what I've been doing for 4 weeks. Since my ring and pinky are covered up and my wrist cannot move, I've been having a hell of a time shifting. Just thought I'd share my experience.
 
Never played with a cast. But I had my arm in a sling about two years ago after having my shoulder repaired (partial tear of the rotator cuff).
I was playing two days after my surgery with the DS2 resting on my right side rib cage. My left arm contorted back in order to reach the stick.

Yep, my ring and pinky finger are broken right now along with 10 other broken points further down in my hand and wrist. As long as my thumb works then it is all good. :)

How the hell did you do that?

I played with a 25lb napping booger (youngest son) on my lap, but that was about it.

Once was all it took. ;)

It was a combination of many things that ultimatly made us quarrel. Namely that I told him my girl might be knocked up and that I was thinking about marrying her in the near future.

He has major issues with that because he believes I am too young and should not be tied down yet. This isn't the first time we have bumped heads on the subject.

He ended up calling her a bitch and when I told him to not to open his mouth about her again he proceeded to call her a whore.

I told him to go **** himself to which he decided to respond by reaching over and start a nice death choke on me.

I gave him the 'Mike Tyson special' and he was out for the 10 count. KO baby.

I knew my hand was broke badly so I left him just lying on the floor and walked to the garage and managed to drive myself to the hospital while fighting back the tears from the pain in my hand.

That was about 4 weeks ago and I have not spoke a word to him since. Nothing was resolved and now he has a fractured cheekbone and I have a shattered hand. And to top it all off my girl turned out to be not pregnant, which made the whole episode one giant waste of time.

It did feel great to feed my old man a knuckle sandwhich though. He has definatly been deserving of a couple.

I just found out I can get my cast off on Monday, so my four weeks of hell will finally be over.
 
Ive never played with a cast on, but I did play for a few days with a burned hand (left). That was real fun.

::races for a minute, then pauses::
"AHHHHHHHHH, THATS HORRIBLE!!!"
::grabs ice pack::
:: plays for another minute, then repeats::

Oh, and I finished the majority of one of the races in Pro GT All-Stars with a broken DS2 controller. I was playing my merry way through it when the thunderstorm outside came inside, via my PS2. I got a mild shock and my DS2 had the sudden constant urge to turn left. I finished 3rd, I think.

Edit- Got rid of a stowed away smiley.

While I normally wouldn't condone such behavior, I have to say your old man warrants it on occasion.
He may be trying to "protect" you. But he can be such an *** in the process.

Normally, I wouldn't condone such behavior. However, in this instance...
Let's jus say I might have done the same thing. Run down your woman, then choke you.!!??
I think he was trying to get his bell rung.
 
I remember quite some time ago, I had a similar burn incident. I was picking up a plate of pizza from the kitchen and accidentally grabbed the one fresh from the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. In true gamer fashion, my first reaction was to save the pizza, so I calmly put the plate back down before walking over to the sink to run cold water on my hand. I spent the rest of the evening clutching a cold Pepsi can, but the next day got back into GT3 without any pain whatsoever - quite the contrary, the constant pressure of pressing accelerate and brake on my thumb acted as a pressure bandage, and a giant blister developed over most of my thumb, EXCEPT where I had been pushing the accelerate/brake buttons. It looked weird as hell, having two PS2 button shaped dimples in my blistered thumb, but had no ill effects on my thumb nor my lap times.

If you are using the DS2 you can reconfigure so that Gas and Brake are R1 and L1 Respectively. And if you insist on driving in Manual Tranny mode, Switch over the gearshift to the second analog stick. It's a little weird at first, but it works well.
 
Well, now you know not to use a closed fist to punch someone. I doesn't work in real life, like it does in movies. Next time, tuck your fingers in, against the top part of your palm. Then, tuck in your thumb agains the side of your palm. Bend your hand back, and use the bottom of your palm to hit someone. You can do a lot more damage against your attacker, and a lot less to yourself.

Never used a closed fist on an attacker, unless it's necessary. But, you can use one to the throat. You can't damage your hand there, but doing that will/could kill your attacker.

Oh, and never underestimate the usefullness of a Three Stooges eye poke, and knee shot to the pills.
 
Solid, he was mad, but I don't think he wanted to kill. Drew is also a black belt if I remember correctly.

Although I agree that a strike with the heel of the palm is quite devastating, as is an eye poke, and the knee to the "junk".

I was in a cast after breaking my thumb! The doc was nice enough to leave a couple of fingers free so I could still play bass.......and v-games.

It sucks.. :)
 
ya know rump, i think you dad won that fight. he messed you up real good. he managed to break your hand with his face<--- pure talent
