Every man has a "Dream 10 car garage" - what's yours?

There has been, I'm sure, plenty of "what's your favourite road car/rally car/race car" threads, but this one is a little different...

Watching an old Top Gear repeat today, Jeremy Clarkson mentioned that every man has a Dream 10-car garage... so I got thinking. Given the choice of only cars which feature in GT4, which 10 cars would I (and then you) choose? But to make it more interesting (possibly), these 10 cars I choose would then be the only cars I could use again when playing GT4... the rest would be consigned to the automotive garage of history.

So, if you had to choose only 10 cars to use from the GT4 roster, which would they be? Trust me, this might sound easy as it's difficult enough to choose an overall favourite you may think listing 10 is a doddle. But as long as you're experienced with countless cars from the roster, once you start listing them you get to 10 quicker than you'd think. Then it's a case of "oh, I can't leave that one out... but which should I replace?.." (cue endless dilemas).

Mine (after #1 they are listed in no particular order):

1. (R34) Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec 2 Nür (In the Grim R34per guise, obviously)
2. Opel Calibra Touring Car

Yes. Except for a couple of minor details...

1 - Lancia Delta S4 Rally Car
2 - Aston Martin V8 Vantage
3 - Pagani Zonda C12 S
4 - Audi R8
5 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS NOT IN GT4

8 - Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 SV NOT IN GT4

10 - Land Rover Defender 110 (Short Wheel Base) NOT IN GT4

And technically the Audi R8 isn't either (it's the Le Mans Concept in GT4).

Giygas - yeah that's a good mix of power and drive types. The same with my own list in the OP, I could complete a lot of the game with those cars, except for the lightweight car cups and the manufacturer events where I don't have a particular car.

This is roughly what I would mess around with (in no particular order):

  1. Suzuki GSXR/4
  2. Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Quad Cab
  3. Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 Pace Car
  4. RUF BTR

  9. DMC DeLorean S2
  10. Lotus Esprit V8 SE
Only about half of these (Esprit, BTR, Ram, GSXR/4, the Chappy, DeLorean, 300ZX) I use for actual fight-to-the-finish racing. The rest I may bust out in a race every once in a while, but mostly just for the fun of it rather than because they are the best for the job.
