why waste the money
Everyone asks me, how do I start so fast? If you have raced with me in the WE F430 GT-R event, you might have notice that I can get off the line from the 3rd row and be in first by the 1st turn. I feel that this is one big team so I will try to explain how this works. I set fw/rw to 45/55, then the tcs to 0. Brakes to 10/10. You will be on the rev limiter and you will have wheel spin off the line. I shift at about 24 to 30. You will have wheel spin again so shift at 60 to 70. Not exactly sure what the actual rpm is as I am a little busy by now. At this point, (you just short shifted ) the wheel spin will stop and you will be in the torq of the engine. This baby pulls strong, so the speed climbs quickly. If you have gotten it right, you will be passing cars quickly. Oh, I forgot to mention, this is for the GT-R. Let me know how this works for you.👍

Is this in the wrong form?

Thank you for the advice I'll try this tomorrow. I usually just start off in 2nd gear for the F430, haha.

It was plaguing me for ages how you were so quick, thanks kart 👍

What do you mean by "FW/RW 45/55"
Sorry but I'm not one for acronyms :)

Torque split to the front and rear wheels. It can be adjusted on some 4WD cars in the quick tune menu.

This might be stupid question...but I cant do quick tunes in that event. Whats wrong with me? I was so sure everybody is driving with manufacturers setups. I liked it cause I have no time at all to try find good setups. Too much busy at real life.

Double post...sorry. Connection problem.

I thought you can't use quick tuning in this event?

EDIT: AutoAki beat me to it

He uses the Live Dynamics menu for sure.

you can map the "quick tune" to your buttons on the wheel/pad (takes 5 buttons) ..so you basically can adjust asm, abs, tcs, brake balance and torque split on the run... ..don't remember all, sorry....

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere can that be done on G25?

But isn't that a glitch in the game, technically? The idea of that race is that both cars are about equally fast and remain stock. As soon as you can bypass the quick tuning through live dynamics and still make changes to the cars, wouldn't that be unfair? Especially as you obviously can change a setting like FW/RW power distribution for the GT-R, which you can't copy for the F430.

I think it's mapped there already?? But pretty sure it can be done... someone who has used g25 more can answer that.. :)

It's possible to use this very limited quick tune in all tt'a also.. :D

That's a good point I tend to agree:tup:

The adjustments that can be made there are more for adjusting the car to your driving style, basically there is nothing to give it extra boost.

It's not like you'd be tampering with pp, suspension or gearbox...
Basically, you can adjust aids and brake bias.
I always adjust the brakes for this event and the time trials, to suit my personal preferences.
Have the G25 and mapped the 5 buttons required in a way that I barely need to look to the side to adjust stuff on the fly.

You don't need to gain extra boost for being quicker. Basically, my point is that you can change the power distribution for the GT-R, which generally affects its handling and therefore can give you an advantage over the stock model. You can not do that for the F430, simply because it is RWD. So you can adjust the GT-R to your driving style, but you can't do the same for the F430.

Interesting.........

Can you go more in detail.

What buttons? I have a DFP.

no need, it's already perfect. front=0, rear=100. ;)

I use (DFP):

L3 = open the tuning menu
D-PAD-UP = toggle the menu up
D-PAD-DOWN = toggle the menu down (suprisingly)
D-PAD-RIGHT = adjust +
D-PAD-LEFT = adjust -

just go to the options and map there.. ;) 👍

Actually, I think this is quite a serious issue, as it defies the general idea of this race.

I am sorry mate,still can't find it.

Must be not that hard but my thinking function must be off.:sly:

I agree with the interceptor on this issue. I thought the whole point of this race was that the cars were identical* and it was all down to driving skill. The changes available aren't much, but changing the brake balance will enable someone to brake later than someone who hasn't made thos changes.

* Obviously apart from the differences between the 2 models. The F430s should be identical to one another as should the GTR

You have to remap the buttons in the options menu.

Ok,

I see now it can be used by a Driving Force GT.

Can it also be used by a Driving Force Pro?

EDIT

Yes it can,
I had to push X when select L3 so you can choose for a menu

Vital information.........

Thanks guys for the help

Yes if you go into options and map them to buttons on your DFP.

I personally use a G25 and have the buttons mapped to a spare dualshock controller I have next to me.

It sure can. I use the X, circle, square and the up and down buttons for the menu.

I just did a few free run tests. I compared the best laptime I can do in a stock GT-R to one with a different power distribution. With 45/55 instead of the standard 30/70, I was 0.5 seconds quicker a lap consistenly, mostly won at the hairpin and the final chicane. And that was a flying lap, the advantage at take-off is not even a factor here.

So as you can't do this to the F430, how is this fair?

Well, it's fair because those are the "rules" we play with. This in game "tuning" has been officially mentioned by PD so everone should know this. ;) By entering the race we agree with the formation of this event and it's up to PD to make it as even as they want to. You always have the option to choose the better car, if you prefer one of them. How is it fair that f430 has more pp? ..or better straight line speed? My opinion here is that it's completely fair, I just deal with the "conditions" and make the best out of them for me. That is driving the f430.. :) ..if I would like to make this more "fair" I would include qualifying, but that is another story.

Hmmm don't feel so bad about my lap time at the GTR vs F430 free run now, I guess I really need to move on from Sixaxis to reach my full potential.

Thanks for the vital info guys.

All the best

Until this thread was opened I didn't know you could still alter the settings through live dynamics, simply because it was obvious for me that when quick tuning is disabled, so is live dynamics (at least the parts that actually give you a performance advantage). And I wouldn't bet money that PD thought of this when they set up this race.
