Good to see Mclaren without problems so far.

But Lotus seems to have some issues still..second red flag also caused by Maldonado

Seems like Perez will take over the Force India after lunch break

edit: And day over for Mclaren :( MGU-K problem -> motor change. Hopefully they will drive more tomorrow...

They're going to try to run it tomorrow but they expect it to break so they won't get much, if at all, done before Saturday.

Sauber are looking strong, I have to say. Solid amount of laps, nice and consistent times.

Wolff said that she didn't see Nasr and closed the door in corner 5 while Nasr took the inside as he was on a fast lap. Bad luck for Sauber, they were very good so far.

Mercedes seems to have a problem with their drivers, Hamilton sick and Rosberg with neck problems. That's also the reason Wehrlein is driving today and not Rosberg. Wehrlein has not enough experience for the whole testing.

Maybe they will reactivate Di Resta? He drives for Mercedes anyway

Rosberg drives tommorow, Wehrlein is replacing Hamilton.

I know, I was talking about why Rosberg is not replacing Hamilton. And for tomorrow, Rosberg only drives as long he has no pain. They should have a backup in case Hamilton does not feel better tomorrow...

Well, he has won at this circuit before.

Interesting that Wehrlein set almost identical times in 2 very different cars.
I guess he was asked to drive to a number by both teams.
Good job in that case.

Maldonado is much maligned for being crash prone, but he has always been a fast driver. To deny that Pastor is quick is a misjudgement.
Agreed. Let's not he managed to hold off Alonso to take the Spanish Grand Prix win in 2012.

...yes at a narrow Barcelona in a car that at that portion of the year was as fast as any and would have had more points if he wasn't so crash prone (irony). It's like saying driver a managed to hold off driver b at Monaco because of skill other than the obvious fact that it's following the leader as they make a train.

He's had other flashes of inspiration, like when he was right up the front in Singapore in 2012.

There's no denying that he's quick on his day. His problem is his temperament.

What KERS leak?

On Maldonado, he is a former GP2 champion as well as a Formula 1 race winner. There is speed there hidden amongst all the humour.
