Most of those issues are carried over from all the others, which is a shame. The speed down the straights thing has always bugged the hell out of me. Somewhere like Baku, you're an absolute sitting duck and by the end of that long start/finish straight cars that were a second back when you entered the straight are probably long since past and up the road. I've always found it incredibly annoying. The last game I don't really recall that being a problem? F1 2020 I think. That game is remembered so fondly because it seemed to correct a lot of long ingrained irritations and it was just so nicely tuned...since then I feel like a fair few of those irritations have crept back in.
I think this is a decent installment in the series, don’t get me wrong. A good one even. But I feel like it's coming up time for a bigger refresh than this, a 2014 into 2015 style rebuild, because the core experience is still roughly the same as it's been for years and some of the bugs/irritations seem kinda baked-in. You'd have thought they'd have been patched out already if it was that easy.
Hopefully some of the patches in the next few months will address some of it. It's a good game.
