Out of everything to come from latest update the best by far is the F2007 Daytona Road Event. This is a much better match than the Suzuka event which felt "unreal" just a herk & jerk hang on for life ride. Seems theres more driver control of the F2007 than before, lets talk about the good & bad of what I hope will be a much more popular event.

I'll be racing there at the quarter hrs...00/15/30/45

I noticed this event being added and I'm looking forward to trying it out. I'm interested to hear and see the banking speeds for this car at Daytona with the adjusted physics. I think Daytona Road is a good venue for excercising the cars' range of abilities.

Just had a go on this event... it's brilliant!

Don't like how it ghosts your car for going 'too fast' into the box chicane though, I'm staying well within the boundaries.

Has anyone else noticed how bad the steering wheel vibrates on the oval sector of the track. I use DFGT have FF all the way down.Just concerened dont wont to mess my wheel up,have the same issue with other cars on oval just worse on F2007. Also love the change in F2007 more like a real car now to me,you can actually slide thru turns.:dopey:

Haven't tried it yet 'Dub , but I will try for later tonight, and I will get back to you on it.Then we can discuss which of the Formula cars we like driving better,I think you know where this is coming from. See ya on the track Ferrari man !

Only the back of my Ferrari...........Whooooosh.:

OUCH , your abusive !!!!! :nervous:
I think I saw your car spin out in my rear view mirror , yeah , thats how I saw the back of it :lol::lol:

You are good , just having fun with ya

Your right again as usual:banghead: Raced Suede today at Daytona you gotta try it , much improved over Suzuka I've had close racing many times today, thanks to GTP_Ravenmaven for clean fast racing tonight, also Bigrek. Last race I was in there were 7 cars never saw that at Suzuka.

So I guess no Fuji event to celebrate the 2008 Japanese GP?

Yeah, unfortunatey. I enjoy the Daytona Road Course with any other car than the F2007. The rediculous steering shudder is a deal breaker for me. I much preffered racing online at Suzuka. You know, an ACTUAL F1 COURSE! IMO Suzuka is much more technical, and did a better job of separating the men from the boys.

EDIT: Forgot to lower the force feedback to what I had before the update. This makes a much more tolerable. Also, I've recently kick many peoples asses on the Daytona Road Course, so maybe it isn't so bad after all!:sly:

I'd still preffer a real F1 course though. Too bad PD doesn't just offer all 3 (Fuji, Suzuka, & Daytona) as online events.

Max turning angle is not adjustable? What a crock! I'm finding a lack of "bite" in the front end with those sponge tires (default set up).

Dont get me wrong I really enjoyed Suzuka big fan of F1, I just thought at Suzuka close racing was not very enjoyable.:nervous:

Suzuka was a blast if you had the car setup to run under .28 in the front ....had many great races there....did not like the track until I got really fast around it....but that is true of all tracks

Sorry to bother, but what are the tire restrictions on the Daytona event?

N1s... don't think you can ever change the F2007's tires can you?

Depends on where your driving it. Online its N1. Arcade Time Trial used to be S2, not sure if it still is. If you enter events in class A or B, you can give it R3s.

You can in Arcade. S2s in time trial and R3s in races.

I hate to ask, but does anyone else set TCS to 1 when racing online, then? Or do you guys just throttle control.

I have 0 TCS, but this event as many other F2007 events is complete 🤬 so many people cutting the last chicane by miles ruining the race. I've had 1 race on this event and I shall never return.

So what are you saying your not fast at Daytona . Just kidding your the man:bowdown:

Yeah I've seen a few guys do that, But there are sharks in the ocean & I still love the beach.

Have to agree with you mate. We had some great battles yesterday. This event is going to be if not the best event of them all. I see alot people playing this one..finally. Suzi was good but very hard for others to respect the limit of the circuit. This one eliminates that..so I think we will see more awesome races this time around.

Perhaps we should clear something up here. I was recently accused of "cutting" the chicane on the back straight. I believe there is a distinction between cutting a chicane, and clipping it with your inside tires. As long as two wheels stay on the track (i.e. inside the white lines), it is not considered cutting. I believe that is how F1 defines it.

I've noticed that I am quicker through this chicane than many other people. To be clear, I am keeping two wheels on the track at all times (unless I lose it and spin out of course ;), but that is a rare occurance :sly:). As to why many people (though not all) aren't as fast through this section, I must assume one or more of the following:

A) Their speed is limited by their skill level
B) Their speed is limited by the tuning setup of the car
C) Their speed is limited by their lack of familiarity of the track, and the speed potential through certain sections.

Make no mistake, I enjoy fun & fair racing.

I might add that "clipping" the corners of the chicane are necessary to go through it as fast as possible. I intend to continue doing it.

I didn't say clipping, you can go literally straight across the grass and stay completely flat in the throttle all the way over the grass (no penalty!) im talking all 4 wheels off the tarmac and about 10 metres or more away from it.

I totally agree with you, that fully cutting the chicane is intolerable. Luckily, I've only experience one or two people who have done it. However, they often wipe out at least once, during the 5 lap race!:)

In my one race of the day I witnessed 5 different people (in a 7 man field) do it. I was so disgusted by it which is why I'm avoiding this one.

Ok, now the guy who appearantly accused me of cutting the chicane is doing it blatantly himself. Not only that, when I catch up to him, he keeps ramming me into the wall (with no penalty for him I might add).

His PSNID: rock_on19890

I'm beginning to agree with Dragonistic. This event is utterly lacking, when it comes to imposing penalties. Great event, as long as its free of assholes.

I have been cutting the chicane sometimes but its not on purpose. I've got a small low res telly and its quite tricky to see the kerbs and know when to steer. When I lift for the chicane its a bit easier but when I take it flat I'm sort of guessing where the first apex is and it doesn't always turn out where I thought it was :( Just need to practise I guess.

I preferred the challenge of suzuka but if more people will race this one then I think I'll enjoy the races more. Enjoying it so far.

it is funny to me how everyone was so hard on Suzuka.... you should put lawn mowers on the backs of the cars .... everyone is flat footing it through the grass ...if that is great racing ....there is a problem.....

Even according to F1 rules if you keep 2 tires in contact with racing surface curbing is considered part of track , then its not corner cutting.:dunce:
