Game is pretty cool so far. I made an unboxing video but it didn't come out well. I will still answer any questions if there are any.

If you manage to get the street date broken can you post ITT so I can bug my local EB please? It's out thursday according to them.

Sorry I meant to say thursday morning.

Why are you waiting for EB? Just download it on Steam. If you do it within the next 2 hours you can get the caravan pack. Just download it overnight and play in the morning.

I've already paid for half of it plus it's the collectors edition. Although if I had realized earlier that it was available early on steam, I probably would have bought that.

No worries Syntax

What are the graphics like compared to Fallout 3?

Oh you guys are getting the console version? I thought we were all PCers here.

Anyway, you can play it now on Steam but for some reason they're not letting me. Change to "Play Now," you damn "Pre-Load" button!

Oh my god, the Steam FNW forums don't even work because they're flooded with people saying, "FLIP THE SWITCH ALREADY WTF!"

OK, I can play now. Here I go, folks! Gonna marathon until 9am when I have to go to calculus class. Then I'll come home and sleep until 3 when it's time for brainbowl and organic chem.

edit: Oh my GOD, Steam is taking forever to unlock all the files and stuff. I guess I should've defragged when it asked me to, but I presumed the whole "defrag" thing was just to stall people from loading their servers. Besides, what's the point of defragging when you've gotta unlock all this crap? I'll do that while I'm sleeping.

Edit 2: gir it working. Im on my iphone now. hardcore mode seems to be blanked out. I guess you have to beat thegame or something to get it.

I was given the option right away.

I wasn't able to download my classic pack though. I'm going to wait a while and see if it activates so I can download it.

One thing I dont like is that you lose one of the hot key spots. The up button on the D pad is now used to switch ammo types.

Ok well you can activate hardcore after talking with doc Mitchell and making your char. You can turn it off any time but won't get the award at the end if the game if you do so.

Getting ready to go and pick up my copy of the game :)

@Time_Attack the reason why the game is on such a broader scale is beacause the mains guys who made Fallout 1 and 2 have created this game.Which in my book will automatically make this game better than Fallout 3.

I already pre-ordered Fallout NV but wont be picking it up until I get out of work. Then I wont even be able to play it until later tonight after I workout. So maybe in about 11 more hours I might be able to play. Going to be a long day.

Just got back from getting the game at Wal-Mart and i got a pack of playing cards and the Caravan Pack code with it.Im right now waiting for the game to install :)

I just saw my first deathclaw. I thought those fire/golden geckos were bad enough. :scared:

Simple question with a complex answer from me; How is the game different and how is it similar?

It plays mostly the same with a few minor changes that you'll notice and pick up pretty easy. Graphics look similar but slightly better/more detailed. Some of the common weapons and armor from FO3 are in this game but mostly its all new and there are a host of changes to items and such. I could go on and on but I'm still finding out little things.

Another cool thing is that if you are wearing a factions armor your are disguised as a member of that faction. I put on some NCR armor and was strutting around like hot **** when I ran into Caesars legion. They shot me on sight.

So my guy can carry 210 pounds of crap. I currently have 487 pounds in my backpack.

Yeah, I'm using the crates near the workbench and loading bench in Goodspring. I just gotta walk all the way back from Primm to put it in there.

I've never had to travel so long and so far by foot in a game ever. You should be able to use the courier service to move excess items between towns.

You can eventually get a companion to help haul some stuff. You could also stash some of it in a crate in primm and fast travel with as much as you can carry until you've got it all back.

Fallout 3 pretty much consumed my life for a while so I've been psyched for this for a while, I'll be picking my preorder up when I get home from work today.

I just got raped by a gang of deathclaws in a train yard. Ouch.

:lol: has anyone here played around with the preorder items? I believe I will have the classic pack (gamestop preorder for the ps3)

I don't much but I want some good items to start with so I can explore right off the bat.
