Is there any word of an F1 wheel for the CSR-E? This is my most wanted upgrade. I can live with the standard CSR-E for longer than an F1. Please please please.

Does the 50% deposit of 450€/$ mean the actual price is 900€/$? Also do we get more than one wheel?

It says right here that you will get both

This means that I as an official Community Test Manager will be looking for great volunteers here on GTplanet.net that are able to devote 14 days of testing and reviewing the ClubSport Wheel base with the CSW BMW M3 GT2 rim and CSW Formula rim.

$900 sounds right, maybe a little high though, not sure.

They were originally aiming at $450 for the base and $150 for the Formula wheel, we never heard how much the GT wheel was gonna be (at least not that I saw). So it's possible the GT wheel is going to be $300, but I doubt it. I'm guessing the price for the base is going to be $500, the Formula wheel $150 and the GT wheel $250.

Don't take that as fact though, just my hypothesis.

You will be receiving the CSW base plus GT rim and Formula rim for testing. Hence the price of 450 as it is a base and both rims. AActually I rounded it upwards too much in hindsight, by 10 euro/dollar. I can't disclose any exact pricing right now as I haven't been given the okay for that yet. I will ask Sonac who is supervising this in how far I can get into detail about the pricing. Personally I'd give you guys the exact figures right away though.

But anyway, if you put aside 440 then you will be able to get the test equipment (base + 2 rims) for sure.

What I can say is that the base is indeed around 225. The Formula is around 125 and the GT around 90. That is about 10 euro/dollar less then my rough estimate. Of course these are the 50% figures for deposit.
Joke: However I reckoned you guys wanted something to drink while testing it. So I already calculated that in by rounding it up a bit. Hence the 440.

Will changed the price to the more correct 440 euro/dollar figure, which only is off by a few cents. Sorry for the confusion.

mhm that's interesting.. I thought the GT rim will be more expensive than the Formula rim.. and now the Formula rim seems to be around 250 €/$ without the discount and the GT rim 180...

Hold up, Debbie downers in da house.

You have to pay to advertise the wheel?
Brilliant strategy there Thomas, you are Gold.

So are testers obliged to purchase or is there a returns policy?

Hats off to those who go for it BTW.

Same here, but it never did make sense to me. The Formula wheel has more in it, with rotary encoders and stuff. But the GT wheel just has some buttons it seems, so it should be cheaper to manufacture. I base that on pretty much nothing, just what seems right to me.

You can return it I'm sure.

Remember, they aren't advertising the wheel, they are reviewing it. Their review doesn't have to be positive, if they want they can say it's the biggest POS they've ever used.

This is to protect Fanatec from being scammed. They would be sending close to $1000 worth of product on good faith. Humanity has proven over and over again that we just can't be trusted much of the time. I'm sure there are CSR-E testers who decided to keep the wheel without paying the 50% purchase fee and essentially screwed Fanatec out of $250. "It must have got lost in the mail, sorry Fanatec"

You pay 50% deposit. Then at the end of the testing period you choose to either keep it so then they keep you're deposit or you can return it and get your deposit back.

Ah, same as before then.

Oh, ok, I didn't know the people paid the 50% deposit up front on the CSR-E, I don't remember anyone mentioning that. Thanks for the info.

Both rims features the rotary encoder, both rims features an analog joystick, both rims have 15 buttons, both rims have the big LED Tuning Menu screen, both rims have the REV Meter, both rims have tunable paddles, both rims features the quick release, both rims are made out of metal and both rims are wrapped in alcantara.. so the production costs could be very identical.

Reading further apparently they didn't. Issues I think.

GT rim 90 Euro and F1 rim at 120 euro, that's with a 50% off deal.

So the rims will cost a bit. I'm sure as long as the quality is there people will pay.

Hummmmm, I wonder why the cost is so different than? The BMW license?

I was surprised by this as well. I thought the GT was going to be more expensive. I expected $150, so $180 is not too far off. The F1 rim is way more than I thought it was going to be. I was expecting $125-150. Somewhere between $400-500 is what I expected for the CSW base. With CSPs the total (GT rim only) comes out to $700-800 USD. For our European friends this is in Euro, so unfortunately they make it out a little worse.

Well it seems amf7's Round 2 thread at Codemasters has been locked until further notice due to investigations into legitimacy. I hope that thread opens up again soon.

As for here. Just wanted to thank the first applicants for sending in there mail. I was expecting a tsunami of applications, but guess not. Then again it is Sunday, so not many people are online. Most people seem to due personal surfing at their work from what I have seen in the last 10 years. So I am sure the big wave still needs to hit.

As for the pricing. Maybe the reviewer can find out why the one rim is more expensive then the other. ;)

I can't beleive that CM community mod won't trust the 911wheel.de blog posts! I'll have to wait until tomorrow when the full time community manager is there!

Lol I was surprised at that to. I was like really, I was not aware there was another way to know about Fanatec products???

@ Logi I also think certain applicants will take some time with their applications. The $500+ price for the review is probably a slight deterrent from some people. If you really want to test but money is a problem... consider you are getting the products for 50% of their retail price. You can still get a FULL refund. Also, again, its 50%, this is a once in a lifetime deal. Save up, put forth a good application, enjoy the products and be grateful for the opportunity.

Seems as if the cat has already been let out of the bag by the CTM over at North American Grand Prix's site.

Seems as if the North American Grand Prix CTM has edited his post to omit the information previously copied and pasted.

There is no use in being cryptic anymore then. It was bound to happen I guess. Will include the pricing table from the mail.

LOL... what part of of reviewers should not reveal anything including price and specs was not understood!
