I'm not expecting an announcement for a while though, with all the website problems they are having I'd rather have him yelling at his webserver admin than announcing the winner.
 
Ohh I assumed they abused you because you won...low life's.

This is hilarious. Apple servers go down because tens of millions of people overload the server. Wheel manufacture server gets overloaded because a few thousand (at best) are trying to buy a cool new wheel :dopey:

Apple actually pulls the Apple Store's site just prior to new product release, and purposely leaves it down until any related event is over. They have done that for years now. Its not so much a case of server overload.

Although there have been a few instances where they were briefly tanked by overload following product release like for the first release of the iPhone.
 
I love ordering iPhone's at launch over the web. No more lines for me =)
 
So I assume the server overload happened right from the get go? I woke up an hour after the launch window.

As far as I know, the site has not gone live since it was supposed to open. There has been debate though whether or not the time is 12:00 PM Germany time or 14:00 because of the announcement's wording. We shall soon find out.

How I know, I used to live in LA's South Bay area.

Had to commute down to Laguna Beach occasionally due to work.
 
LA has much better food choices. Nothing but chain down here =( I really need to move back. LOL

Nobody was able to get on the site before it crashed? You would think atleast some people could of go in.

UPDATE

We fixed the server issue. It was a wrong setting. No idea why this was not a problem yesterday. But now there is a new problem in the database which is showing existing customers in EU prices without VAT. Well, I know that most of you will appreciate to pay 19% less and you certainly deserved it with all the pain we give you here but we are not rich enough (yet) to make you such a present.

The problem occured during the import of the database and only on some of the customers so we were not able to detect it in our testing before the launch and even in the initial tests after the import. In fact the server crash down gave us more time so we were lucky to find it.

This is agiin not a satisfying situation but we will bring this website oline today. Whatever it takes!
