I'm not sure mate. My wheel came with firmware installed.

Not very tech savvy myself.

I have an icon on my laptop.
If I plug in my pedals it opens with a graphic that shows 3 power bars. As I press my pedals the corresponding bar fills up. Also a Pedal vibration test button is available.

Plug un wheel and a graphic of the wheel is displayed.
Option to set rotation etc. also a visual as you turn the wheel.

Example. You could set 900. Turn the wheel and see exactly what the sensor is doing.

Sorry for my armature response.

Where's our tech guys when needed lol.

Edit yes it is for PC. It would show up a faulty wheel though mate.

Yes there the same features I have with driver 115, I will test wheel rotation and report back in a few mins:tup:

Good luck mate.

Ok, tested all buttons and pedals and they are working fine, I then set wheel to 900 deg and checked what info it was giving me for lock to lock. Turning the wheel full lock to the right was showing as 250, but when I turned it to the left it only shows 245-246 is this the same for everybody?

Edit: my wheel angle actually shows as 500 degree

When you set the wheel angle, make sure to hit the apply button before you test. At 900*, you should get 450 at both wheel locks.

Ok just tried this,

Turning to the right gives me the full 450, but turning to the left I am only getting 442

That may be how your wheel is centered. You could readjust the wheel center, according to the manual. Other than that, it appears your wheel is doing what it's supposed to do. At least, as far as the test prg goes.

They owe you 8 degrees lol.

Does the graphic representation look smooth. Try turning the wheel as if racing. Don't be afraid to give it some. Your trying to simulate a fault under racing conditions.

Does the wheel look centred when the graphic says it is?

Edit. Beat me to it.

May I ask a thing...
Why doesn't Fanatec employ Tekei1? His designs are amazing and his H shifter is what I want for CSH, I don't know if this is the right place or not...I know I shouldn't ask this but I just wonder.

The graphic always says -1 :sly:

When re centering the wheel is it meant to re-calibrate, because if so this has never happened and the wheel never goes to the correct center position, it's always to the left. Maybe I am doing something wrong when trying to re-center.

When re-centering I boot the wheel into PC mode, turn the wheel to center, then hold the two lower red buttons plus the guide button and nothing happens. Am I missing something here?

Edit: I want a refund on those 8 degrees

Don't know who he is.
PM Thomas and put it forward. If the guys is interested.

HOLD the wheel as close to center as you can, then hold all 3 buttons. When you let go of the buttons, you should feel the wheel sort of jolt into that position.

Plato. When the wheel auto calibrates it never centres in the middle. That's normal.

After about a months use I had to centre mine. I put it down to the belts bedding in.
Stayed true ever since.

You got me stumped mate. If the PC calibration tool says all is correct then I'm out of ideas.
Pretty sure support will ask you to take those steps.

One other thing. Does this happen after wheel warms up, is it intermittent.

If its is after awhile. You might want to replicate the fault when the wheel is warm then transfer it to your PC for checks whilst at the same temp.

Not easy I know. I feel for you mate.

Mine jolts when setting it to PC mode.
If setting to Xbox or PS3 it goes limp.

Ooer,

No jolt what so ever, I have to be doing it wrong

Ok, my wheel was dead center and when I just tried it from there, I didn't feel the jolt either. I set the wheel off center and tried it and then I felt the jolt. I put it back to center and tried it again and I felt the "jolt". It's just for a split second after you let go of the buttons.

Edit: What spahgetti says. You must be in PC mode.

Ooer,

When first turning the wheel on it calibrates and stays about 30 deg to the left (estimate) I know everybody else's does this as well.

As soon as I press the back button for PC mode it seems to center itself give 1-2 deg.

As for centering I am clueless on how this is done as it doesn't seem to do anything for me.

@ Stones

Maybe my wheel is centered then as I said it seems to center itself when I press the back button for PC mode. So that little issue is solved thanks.

I believe he is already, Tekei1 has a blog and he has photos on it which shows he has been testing the CSW and also an alleged prototype set of CSP version 2.0 that incorporate his clutch mod which look amazing

No way mate. What degrees do you use?

Edit try SENS set to off. This will use the games default value. That should be usable

I am going to try using SENS off tomorrow and see how I get on, if this doesn't help I really need someone to try GT5 and see if they have the same issue.

Thanks for all the help:tup:

What are the odds a CSP v2.0 is coming out in the near future. I'm in the process of ordering a set right now and I will not be a happy camper if v2.0 drops right after I buy them.

Has there been any official news on a v2.0, or just internet rumblings? If a v2.0 does come out, what kind of updates are expected. Basically, please tell me everything you know regarding a CSP v2.0.

Thank you.

I discussed this point on this thread with Hawk 05, I think, on the 19.11.11. We were both hoping along with others that the improvements could be retrofitted to current CSPs in the same way that GT3 owners were offered an upgrade kit to bring their wheels upto the spec of the GT3 v2 you have on order. Looking at the pedals on the blog it does look possible to fit the mods oneself as Tekei1 does in his you tube videos. We will have to cross our fingers and wait and see...

Thank you for responding. I guess I'll just have to test my luck. :dunce:

Sorry to hear of your problem energizerrr

Ok guys,

I was playing around with the options in the driver and noticed the option for center spring, I clicked on it and applied it not thinking I would get any help from it as these options (apart from being able to check the wheel is functioning properly) are meant to be for PC only.

Later on I decided to see if I could get to the bottom of the issue I was having with GT5, to my surprise the center spring option did make a considerable difference, I could feel a lot more center resistance which was a hell of a lot better than before where the wheel felt loose and weak around the center.

I have now been able to use a higher SENS setting on the wheel (540 and 720) as turn in response feels a fair bit more responsive. As for using 900 I couldn't get used to it but came to the conclusion that it is probably down to the wheel simulating the real world better than what the DFGT does and that's why maybe I am not used to having to turn the wheel as much.

Don't know if this makes any sense to you guys about the center spring, but I am positive it has helped me.

Am I just being crazy, or does this option actually help on consoles?

Please, no sarcastic comments

Edit: copied and pasted into here as I accidentally hijacked energizerrrs thread and wanted you guys to see this:tup:

Edit 2: Hopefully this information will help other people new to Fanatec products, something I have never seen mentioned in threads before

Looks like I was right about the CSR Elite wheel rim being alot closer to you ( post #2900 )
Looks like approx 40-50mm judging by these http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/7272#attachments
If anyone who has a beta wheel could measure the distance between the base(face side with bolts) and the rim(buttons side) that would be great.
I'm sure Thomas won't mind as every other measurement is shown on the template.
