Congrats!

I'll just continue to sit here in my cockpit rocking back and forth hitting the refresh button on Thomas' blog waiting for the announcement of a CSW pre-order.

I think you will break your refresh button before announcement comes if you keep doing it.
I remember Thomas mentioning that they don't start taking pre-orders before wheels have been sent out from China. As CSW will go in production in January at the earliest if everything goes well, then we can still wait for quite a long time.
Of course he also mentioned that CSWs may be sent out directly to customers from China. I'm curious how that works. Shouldn't I pay VAT and custom taxes if it is sent to me directly from China.

Maybe he as hooked up an old fashioned punching board like the old IBM keyboards. Those things never break. lol

It is actually fantastic that there is so much excitement about this wheel and I can fully understand that. Actually I can understand the excitement more than most people here ;)

The latest news is that we get the first shipment to our EU and US warehouse early next week and we will ship it out right away. This shipment is big enough to cover all open orders. And we even get two more shipments in this year but I will make a separate announcement on that.

Not long now guys!

Oh, something I've been wondering....what's the deal with the center spring setting screwing up the wheel (CSR)? Whenever I set it it feels like I'm driving a 4000lb with a manual steering rack, even at high speeds. I like the wheel centering itself, but it makes the weight of the steering feel completely unrealistic.

Can I adjust any of the settings to bring the "weight" of the wheel down a little?

It is the same with my GT3 RS v.2, I disable autocenter spring, I hope Fanatec will make a PC driver with adjustment for autocenter spring strength, or a firmware where you can make the adjustment in 10 steps, in the wheel menu. You can do some compensation with drift settings in the wheel menu, but it is not optimal.

I just got my CSR-E wheel and everything earlier this morning too. But I can't hook it up til later on tonight / early morning :banghead:

I'll try to have some material ready when that embargo lifts. Will have to do some time trials, races, etc. But obviously it will be just 1st impressions til I get more time with it*

Take your time guys! Dont rush for rushings sake. Tomorrow is just day 1 not your deadline. Remember, no prize for first place in this race. I look forward to seeing both if your reviews. Obviously those who have had the wheel for a couple of weeks now will be getting reviews up sooner, but please do not feel rushed. They have had ample hand on time to get a nice piece together.

Ps: hate u guyzzzzz!!!!!! ;)

Now you'll be able to use those CSPs even better. Take your time and if you want to go on a first impression rant like a kid with a new toy feel free to do so as I'll definitely read it and feel jealous while doing so.

Anyhow, enjoy. Oh! And what ^ said. Hate you guys, but I'll get my revenge. I'll find peace of mind in that.

Yeah I'm now back from my super busy day but too tired to experiment with the wheel (it's past midnight here). :guilty:

Can't wait to wake up in the morning and see what's up. Also anxious to see everyone's reviews. Surely Thomas must feel the same!

Yes, take your time with your final reports. However, also feel free to "live blog" your initial findings. ;)

It's amusing to read "Take your time" or "No prize for first place". We are telling racers to not want to be first, this makes me chuckle.

I laughed as I was typing it. I only mean for spaghetti and crispy to make the most of this opportunity.

I meant to post something else today, but since I could not, I recorded a preview video yesterday evening. No planning, so it's basically just me talking a bit :) Here it is.

I plan on making a preview video tonight. As Caz said, take your time. Our goals as Beta Testers aren't making the first reviews, it's making good, informative reviews.

My preview video will probably be showing some simple stuff, like how to update the firmware, things like that. I will take some photos once my video camera charges. (Yes, I'm taking photos with a video camera. My phone camera sucks and my regular camera died a couple months ago.) I hope you enjoy all the information to come!

EDIT: Updated the OP with a little Preamble of sorts, as well as the three review threads up on GTPlanet right now. I hope (later) to organize that a little better. RIght now it's more of military style: EDIT 12-21-12: stuff. It'll take a while, but I can do it!

can any CSP user help me out here? Can I leave both USB & PS2 cable connected to the csps? This way its easy to switch back and forth from PC->consoles? I'm assuming this is fine but the warning label on my CSPs say dont do it. just wondering if it means dont have the ps2 connected to my wheel AND have USB cord going to the PC

I wish csps could use USB on all platforms.

I just want to leave both cables conntected to the CSPs but alternate between USB or PS2 cable. USB = PC, PS2 = console

You can leave the USB and PS/2 cables connected to the CSP as long as the the other ends aren't connected simultaneously.

Really? If so then I'm going to go ahead and do that. I'll be migrating to PC sims ever so slowly after Christmas.

Quick ? What is the width of the Elite wheel? looks to be about 315mm. If it has been posted somewhere, sorry for asking a stupid ?
