Quantum View has spoken. I should see my CSR-E on the 20th.
Ugh, forget my request to test your wheel, I succumbed and pre-ordered the Elite myself last night. Hopefully I get such an email in the near future....
PS- yes 12thgear, wife and I have been hand-washing for two weeks, but enough of that, new dishwasher comes tomorrow. Just hope after also ordering the Elite that the expected holiday bonus comes through (...for you Chevy Chase fans, why do I feel like Clark Griswald all of a sudden?)

Ups quantum view confirmation with delivery date for tomorrow...woohoo looks like ill be playing non stop till the weekend :) hopefully the fw updater gets released soon with an easy install process so I can feel the full potential of this wheel

I highly doubt I'm the only one that cares little about some spat between Darin and Thomas or it's appropriateness on the GT forum seeing as you're the only person thats even gone so far as to basically beg someone to copy and paste whatever the hell conversation was going on on the iRacing board.

In a word....that's lame.

If so many people cared it would've been all over the forum....it's not like there aren't numerous iRacing members who post regularily here.

Can we get back to CSR E talk now?

Here....I'll start this back on topic:

I got my tracking number for my Elite a couple hours ago!

Beg? I can see you aren't quite finished with the over reacting there are you. If it has to do with the quality of sim racing hardware products (bonus points if you can figure out where I got the words sim racing hardware from) then I'm interested in it. But it looks like a simple request for it seems to have angered you for some odd reason and really pushed some of your buttons. Pretty pathetic thing to get so heated over if you ask me :odd:

Well, when they're apparently talking about issues with the wheel, even if they aren't going into specifics, it's of interest to me. Just because you don't care about it doesn't mean people who do should be shut out. If it's posted here is it so hard to just ignore it? Talk about over reacting, damn.

Sure, we can ignore it, but we don't tolerate off-topicness here. We could get this thread closed, then where will people talk about their CSR Elites?

I'm interested in seeing the differences between the production models and beta units, I always do!

ok, back on topic....

What kind of wheel attachments do you guys think we will see?

I know the BMW GT and Formula wheel are incoming, but what else can they really make?

Is a rally wheel different enough to the GT wheel to warrant production? Maybe a classic wheel? But again, I just can't see myself spending any additional money for wheels other than the Formula and GT as together they cover everything quite nicely it seems.

They can make things like...

A Momo Drift:

Or a Momo Rally:

Or a Momo GT Touring:

So yeah... lots and lots of wheels. Different shapes... different grips. I am no expert but every wheel feels different and not all wheels feel nice in my opinion.

Well, true, but what I am wondering is if there will be enough interest in all these different wheels? As far as I can tell, Fanatec isn't just taking off-the-shelf wheels and slapping their attachment mechanism on it. So there would need to be enough demand for a drift wheel or an alternate GT wheel for them to take on the production expense.

Picked up my preorder of production CSR-E today at 2:15 pm PST, as the warehouse is 30 min away from work.

been driving a few different cars in FM4 just now and I’m noticing something very strange vs. the GT2.

Wheel and game dead zone are set to 0 as it was with the GT2 however the CSR-E is very light with no ffb feel at all from 12o’clock to 11 or 1, but the ffb will kick right in once I get pass 11o’clock or 1o’clock ? once ffb kicked in it felt great, 1000x better than the GT2 as most of the review has pointed out, but I can’t figure out what is going on with this ffb dead zone that I’m experiencing .

I hope this will be address with the coming soon firmware?

Also the wheel likes to make this click and snap sound whenever i'm fighting the ffb a bit (when you are making a turn and holding it so you have to fight the ffb, it will just make some of these noises and the wheel will also at times twitch as if it it’s skipping a gear or something as well, it’s quite weird. I’m not sure how to describe it in more detail or more correctly, but it is making the wheel feel somewhat cheapand annoying not a 500+ usd wheel should be doing, as it has never happend on the gt2 or the t500 rs. So for now i guess i will have to keep my fingers crossed that this is a firmware issue and it will all go away once we have access to the updated firmware.

If there is not enough demand then I hope they'll just release a seperate quick release that you simply can attach a normal sports style steering wheel to.

For myself i'd love to have a nice normal round wheel. The last one I posted for example looks a bit like the G25 wheel, and I found nothing wrong with that wheel apart from the size. The G25 was a bit on the small side.

But yeah... it's always a nice gamble of costs, demand and also how well the economy is doing. If we all don't have a job anymore then who's he going to sell his wheels to? Food, water and a warm shelter will be priority one then.

Which firmware version is running on your wheel?

Hey, this wheel talk has me thinking. This is probably directed to Mr. Latte since he's interested in going one step beyond for his reviews. Can you get the wheel to run with the csr-e rim disconnected (the plugs inside) and just run it with the wheel. Obviously if that is the case we'll have "chilicoke" hub adapters in no time.

LogiForce,

do you have the steps how i can check the firmware version?

google seach is failing me atm :(.

You Hold A,B, and the two lower orange buttons. The firmware number should pop up.

Sounds to me like your running the 705/706/707 Firmware. This was addressed in 715 I believe.

I would like for them to come out with a simple 320mm momo monte carlo type wheel :) I modded my g25 with one of those it felt great and was still pretty light weight

they can keep replicating specific race wheels all day long, whether they be something like an official dale junior NASCAR rim or an official citroen WRC wheel. as long as they can keep securing the licenses and there's a market, there's nearly no end to CSW/CSR E wheel possibilites.

personally, I want an R14.5 DTM wheel and an R15++ LMP1 wheel.

I got my tracking number... however it shows that my wheel has been in customs since July 12, 2010.

I had the same issue (mine came up as delivered on July 16, 2010) so I emailed Crystal back to find out the scoop with that.

For anyone else that gets this it should be noted that UPS, USPS, etc. recycle tracking numbers. The number you have will have updated tracking info once it is scanned/inputted by UPS, USPS into their tracking system.

I checked my number a few hours after the clarification with Crystal and it indeed came up as shipping today.

This lack of ffb is really making me sad.

Are there any work around to the ffb dead zone issue on the 707 firmware, while I wait for the public release of 71x firmware??

CSR elite is almost at hand :) after that then its the wait for the CSS and CSH then my set up should be pretty complete for a year or two lol unless i start to get into the whole tactile thing

sim racing has taken my money away from modding my real car :( hmm the money ive been spending i could have been to a real track 2-3 times

im also still debating if i want to keep the CSP or get CSR elite pedals and inversion kit

anyone with CSR elite pedals & inversion kit wanna trade? haha

Thanks for the heads up, now i at least know what to expect when my wheel arrives today.:grumpy:

Just posted another request on 911wheel.de for a public firmware update, perhaps alot of plus ones will help to convince Thomas to do that.

Still excited though :)

Good news from Thomas blog

Submitted by HoiHman on Thu, 12/15/2011 - 06:05. Thomas, now the wheels are in transit, how about that firmware update?

I already spotted one user who complained about the lack of FFB between 11 and 1 on the wheel in Forza4.
I would be wise to comment on this, otherwise you'll probably have a lot of disappointed ?customers posting here.

Just give us the Beta firmware, with the old update procedure. People can then decide for themselves wether they want to update already or wait for the new firmware updater.

Surely you're not gonna let us wait as long as the CSR customers

Submitted by Thomas on Thu, 12/15/2011 - 08:35. The new updater is already working but we need to make a few more tweaks. In worst case I will release it as it is so everybody should get a new fw this week.

This week. So at the end of today or likely tomorrow at earliest. I doubt he will finish it in the weekend.

Thanks for the update. I think a lot will be interested. I as well am happy to know that the new updater is about to be released since otherwise I'd had to prep a machine with XP for updating the CSW during its testing period.

Mr Latte
My crappy "Win Vista" in the shop worked fine with updating.
Took 5 mins

I'm using Win 7 ultimate 64bits. If Vista works then i'll be fine I guess. Thanks

Yeah I dont think we should coordinate on the time trials at the risk as coming across as viral hehe. But I do think time trials are a decent idea or some other indication of improvement. Sonac hit an original angle with his article I wasn't aware iRacing has an FFB test app.

hopefully I will also update my wheel today. UPS is going to make me a bday gift it seems.
