Has anyone ordered a CSR-E recently or know what current delivery times are? If they are available for immediate delivery I'm going to order one now and then sell it after I get the CSW.

I would like to know as well. I said in another one of these threads that I think I'm going to do the same. Get the elite now and sell it when the CSW comes out. I really just want the csw but the wait is killing me like everyone else. Seems like fanatec puts wheels up for pre order on their site couple weeks before they are ready to ship. Thomas said late Jan at the best and Apr. at the worst on his blog for the csw release and with the csw not even available for pre order yet I think it will be around mid Feb.- Mar. before it's out.

They are available for immediate shipping....my friend just ordered one Saturday and it shipped Monday.

So there is now an new Clubsport shifter coming, like on the picture, or the current CSS are all we will get for this year?

I will very soon buy a CSR-E wheel but I'm not yet sure about the shifter.
Just from seeing it I'm not convinced yet e.g. I don't really like the look of the black housing, because of the seam and additional they wouldn't be perfect to mount on on my SpeedmasterV2.

There will be Clubsport Shifter later this year (was originally meant to be released last year). Clubsport Shifter is called CSS, the current ones they are selling, are called CSR Shifters.

I think the next two products we will see released are the ClubSport Wheel and the ClubSport handbrake.

CSW and CSS would be my bet. Well, I hope these are the next two!

Never really put much thought into Fanatec products in previous years, but the new line up is looking mighty fine!

The shifter being next would be ideal, as a bunch of the people waiting for the CSW already have Fanatec wheels. This would allow us to feel like we are getting products more frequently, which I think would be awesome.

Mr Biggles, you just gave me the giggles with that one. lmao

Seriously, 999 dollars for an xbox wheel? I am not sure but it's not some rare piece of antique pottery or something I believe. rofl

Went ahead and ordered the CSR-Elite.

I'll just use it and enjoy it until the CSW is available, and then I'll sell the CSR-E once I receive the CSW. The more I read about the CSR-E the more I am unhappy with my CSR. On two or three occasions I've almost ordered the Frex Simwheel, so I figure by ordering the CSR-E now, that will keep me from blowing $3000 on a wheel I really don't need.

Hopefully it arrives here within a week or so.

Bad move, i hate my elite! ;) kidding, i know you know how i feel about mine, but i think that even if you end up getting the csw you still will be happy knowing yo saved that much money, and sometimes that makes something even more enjoyable. everyone complains about how expensive it is and they are right it is, but i dont see how anyone has $3000 for a racing wheel, and how much better could it be than the csw? A little yes, a lot... I'll even give you a maybe but $2300 BETTER? pffsh, doubt it. good move going fanatec

Well that was quick, already got an e-mail from Fanatec saying they are preparing to ship it now. Only negative about Fanatec is they won't ship directly to my US military address in Japan. So I have to have it shipped from their warehouse down to a third-party shipping company that works with the military. So it adds 2 or 3 days onto the transit time. Hopefully will have it by this time next week, but I'm guessing middle of the following week.

I've been doing some reading and the uber wheels are 2 to 4 times stronger than the wheels in the market we are looking at. As far as everything else outside of build quality, the benefits start to diminish. Already people aren't running the elite at 100% FFB, so the real benefit from the strength is the speed of the wheel, which on the Fanatecs/Thrustmaster line is quite quick. That's where that additional 2300+ dollars starts to become a real issue for me. You could buy 2 complete CSW / with wheels stand setups, full pedals and shifter etc etc for the cost of just that wheel.

I could be wrong but all German companies I know of deny sending parcels to foreign military bases. I don't know (legal restrictions?) why but that's something I'm reading all the time when ordering stuff online.

I don't get it. I know you can't use UPS to ship to an APO/FPO address which is what Fanatec uses to ship within the US. You have to use USPS to ship to an APO/FPO address and I know Fanatec uses USPS to ship to Canada so why can't they use it to ship to APO/FPO addresses? Did you try to contact them and ask if they could ship it with USPS as they do for Canadian customers? And the nice thing about that is you are paying for shipping to a US address.

I think my CSR E is dead, I really hope it isn't as it worked fine yesterday.

It calibrates itself and displays "---" but doesn't do anything else, it won't connect to PC, PS3 or 360 or go into bootloader mode. I've contacted Fanatec but can't see anything happening now until Monday. Apart from powering it off for a while, is there anything else to try?

I am sorry to hear about your trouble, dont give up hope there might be a simple solution but it is pretty late almost 7pm in germany and im not sure if tech support work sat so you might not hear from them till mon, but dont worry

Sorry, I should have edited my post!

It's all fixed and fine now thanks.

Taking the setup apart was a good thing though because I got the chance to do the quiet mod for my Fanatec shifter.

I couldn't agree more, I can't be certain but even if I could readily afford an "uber" wheel I don't think I would buy one, I really don't think I would enjoy it any more than either a Elite or CSW. I certainly don't have the talent to justify one, which in my mind I would have to. I know this is not the defining criterion for those that do so please don't take offence if you are proud owner of one.
I digress but years ago from my love of music (hence my forum name blacbul which is a corruption of Stevie Wonder's label in the 70's) I became interested in hifi and became something of an audiophile but I noticed I began to spend more and more time reading about equipment than listening to music. I realised in the end in my almost weekly auditioning of kit that I couldn't hear a difference between it what I had and thoroughly enjoyed at home so I stopped and fell back in love with the software as it were rather than the hardware. I knew there were folks who could probably hear a difference but to be bloody honest I realised I was glad I was not one of them!!
Now back to driving games/sims I am doing the same thing again I fear especially since I got a samsung galaxy sII, I now check these forums several times a day whilst at work and today I have made a determined effort to get out my wheel and wheelstand this morning so I actually enjoy a virtually brand new GT2 wheel and games I own instead of pining for an Elite and rfactor 2 which my ancient pc cannot handle!!
Well here goes and to paraphrase Steve Redgrave, "if you see me responding to anymore threads before 11pm GMT shoot me!!"

Has anybody considered leather-wrapping the CSRE wheel? This would presumably stiffen-up the wheel & cover any annoying seams. Does the irregular (non-circular) shape of the CSRE represent a problem?

I've thought about wrapping the CSR Elite, but I imagine it would be pretty expensive to do it right. I'd rather save that money for any new wheel rims in development. I may try using Sugru to smooth some seams and maybe make plugs for the screw holes.

I think it comes down to a QA issue, and, if you don't like the wheel does it make sense to wait and see what comes down the pipe or do you try and fix it yourself.

Honestly I have no idea.

They shipped my CSR and pedals here, but when I went to order something else they emailed me asking for an alternate shipping address. They said the first time was a mistake. They are being courteous about it, but I still don't understand the policy.

Question to owners about the CSR-E...

I've had my wheel for 3 weeks now, and i love it to death. I'm on firmware 721 and i always keep the fans running. However, I noticed the other night after a few shuffle races in gt5 on the ring, it felt like i was loosing force feed back strength. I run it at 100%, the wheel was not hot, but it felt like a motor dropped out... Turned it back on the next day, all was fine, but after 10 minutes, same thing happend... Is this common? Its been fine until the other night..

EDIT: well i played again tonight, changed SPR and Damper to +3 and it feels much better again.. maybe im just getting used to the FFB?
