Let's wait for an announcement from Thomas on why the wheel was pulled from the webshop. ;)
 
Regardless if there is a problem with the CSR-E or it's just out of stock, it's bad news for the CSW since Thomas said they were going to catch up with the CSR-E demand before they started rolling out the CSW.
 
I agree, I hope the current issue (If there is one) can be sorted out quickly so that the CSW can be focused on.
 
but it's also very good news for the CSW, as that means that there's so much demand for the CSR E that they can't even keep up. this means that the CSW will likely do well just as well, meaning that we could get more rims for both the CSW and the CSR E than originally planned. I'd happily wait another month for the CSW if it meant that something like the 918 RSR rim gets green lighted. (and make a CSR E version too please, thomas! :D )

Thanks for posting. Seems like i'll have to make due with my T500 for the first quarter of this year. I would be happy to cause of the types of issues popping up with the Elite. The CSW has to be bulletproof as I expect that from a flagship model of any company. There will always be a few bad apples, but they should be rare. Plus i'd rather have that the nice ladies and men in China take their time assembling each product. Nothing good ever came from hurrying.

Do any of you know how to get their wheels working on PS3 with a PS2 game? Specifically GT4? I'm having troubles...

A week and a half late but I ran into this on my GT3 RS. I found that it would work if I put the wheel into PS3 mode before launching the game. It would never recognize it if I started the PS2 game first. This worked on a B/C PS3 and also on the PS2 proper - but I had to activate the compatibility mode on the PS3 and then transfer the cable to the PS2.

The documentation says not to activate PS3 mode in the XMB, but doesn't bother to explain why. It doesn't say you have to turn it off before quitting back to the XMB either. Take what you wish from that info. I did mention doing this to Fanatec support - I was diagnosing an issue at the time - and they didn't say there was anything wrong with it. Read whatever you wish into that as well. :)

Personally I activated PS3 mode in GT5 then changed games from there. GT4 was one I tested.

Waiting for quality chinese manufacturing? yeah um... good luck with that!
 
Anyone have misshift issues in GT5 with their CSR/CSR-E and CSR/CSR-E/CS Pedals? Can we adjust the clutch in/out zones like in FM4? I misshift constantly and it's such a pain in the butt to get it into gear. Also, I still get tearing in GT5 2.03. *throws his PS3 out the window*

Yeah I do, the clutch is bug bear for me too, I miss shifts, though by slowing down my left foot I avoid this it does pee me off that I have to as I do not have to do this in real life. And before anyone says well they are racing cars I tend to run stock every day cars because thats my real world experience so can get an idea of the accuracy of the simulation achieved.

If the quality sucks I'm not buying an Elite. Hence I am still waiting till these issues that float about start to simmer down a bit. Besides, you can always expect issues with brand new design products.

Oh and no quality manufacturing from China? I never heard many complaints about the Apple products you all prance around with which maybe be designed in California, but were definitely made in China. Although like with every product produced in whatever part of the world, there are always some bad apples. So it can be done properly enough so that most products are in proper working order for years.
For example the made in China logitech wheels are good too. ;)

Right on apple Iphones are made at the foxconn plant in china. Costs apple like 4 bucks to make one there

all these people defending chinese manufacturing quality, what a frickin joke lol. dont be so sensative, i actually am aware that EVERYTHING is made in china, i just dont have to smile when they shovel that load of garbage into my mouth. so what about apple? you think companies outsource their production to china because the chinese industry is the most technically advanced or precisely engineered? ya right, more like they undercut every other country's cost to production ratio so thats where all the jobs go. and before you go on some rant about supply and demand, spare me- i understand that too, but i'll always do my best to look at labels and not buy the ones that support the chinese taking jobs overseas even if i have to spend a little more.

You would have probably paid $750 for the CSR-E if it was made in Germany.
 
I'm not defending Chinese manufacturing just pointing out how much profit apple makes per product sold and a kind of guess of what other companies profits are by sourcing there work to China. I'm by no means a Apple user by the way. Don't own any of there junk. It's just too Damn expensive to be made in the USA or Germany without outrageous prices that the consumer would most likely not be willing to pay.

Time to tax the living snot out of American companies who outsource their business and no more BS credits. GE paid ZERO in taxes last year. Oil companies have record PROFIT year after year and still
Have subsidies. Take them out to the woodshed.
 
1 of the main reasons for outsourcing is the fact that American workers do not posses the skills required to assemble these products in and orderly and timely fashion without computers/machines anymore. Or they want $$$$$ to do it.

It simply comes down to finding the right factory and set of employees that have the skills to make them. And yes, they get paid minimum wage or barely more. The problem is Americans and even Germans want about $20/hr or a union wage to do these jobs. Which is completely unreal if you want to keep costs low and profit margins hi. So, until WE as americans(if you are one here) decide to take action to get these jobs back (which will likely NEVER happen) it will remain Made in China. We made our own bed and have to sleep in it, and that is not acceptable? USA holds a very high double standard on itself which is crippling it......

When Obama asked Steve Jobs the question regarding why he outsources 90% of his labor, this was his answer. Smart man was Steve Jobs! And is Thomas, he just needs to work out some kinks, that's all.
 
I agree with most of that post agp. Except the skill part. 100% spot on with to expensive american labor. We are a greedy people which only begins a vicious cycle.
 
This debate of jobs over seas is a big one. I don't eve think it's possible without laws to bring jobs back to our countries. I have a friend who had a girlfriend that worked in an automotive factory. Her job was to place a seal on a part after a machine had glued it, and press 2 buttons to have the machine stamp it in. She used to brag about making 24 dollars an hour for doing so little. On weekends and holidays she would make 48 an hour and holidays was almost 60. Like honestly, this is UNSKILLED labour and she makes more than I do running a network with 140 PC/Servers. How did things get this way? In what world is that job worth that... the answer is NONE. That is why we are losing our work to other countries. I don't really want to engage anybody in a debate on this as the thread is for Fanatec. It's just such an aggravating topic having known people and companies that are part of the problem.
