Hi, I'm just entered in the fanatec word.
Just had a dd pro with gt3 wheel.

I'm on PS5

I'm looking for material to understad how to configure it. Fanatec manuals seem to be very basic

Thanks
So 3 key things for GT7
  • setup of the wheel using tuning menu
  • Game setting for torque and sensitivity
  • wheel button mapping

Tuning menu on the wheel sets the various parameters - there is simple and advanced mode - hold tuning button for 5 secs to get advanced. But the A_S auto setup works w GT7 so try that - then you can try tweaking the setups - many posts here on that

Game settings under controller torque goes to 10 so that’s overall strength, sensitivity is related to the wheel type and response - for direct drive 1 is recommended but try it higher - it makes the steering very tightly coupled

In game under options/ controller select the dd Pro - the wheel picture will only show the default bundled wheel, not whatever wheel you might have. So look at the wheel docs and find the button mapping section which shows how the PS buttons are mapped to the GT3 wheel

then in GT7 match the button on screen to what you want on wheel and use the pull down to set function - Square wheel to square on the screen image, for all buttons and function. There is a section for pedal calibration to set max/min/dead zone

Some buttons may not map on some wheels - only the ones common to PS and a few others

Start w that, you may have to update FW to recognize the Gt3 wheel - a whole other learning experience - but if it works as is drive it for a while

I own a GT3 wheel (McLaren GT3 V2) and an F1 wheel (Formula V2.5), and I'm looking for a round wheel. Which one from Fanatec would you recommend? I currently play exclusively on PS5, playing GT7, Rennsport, PMR, and ACC.

CSL Elite WRC is good and cheap.

I run the Porsche GT3 suede rim with the advanced paddle and button module. It’s pricy, but offers good leverage for higher torque values and feels like an actual steering wheel, because it is.

Do you guys think that hub conveys ffb better than:

Or is it more about button config preference?
(I have my own ideas, but wonder what you guys think)

I'm guessing I'm going to have to upgrade from my CSL Elite.

The latest patch still has the violent shaking at speed, even though the driving experience is really good as long as I keep a hand on the wheel.

I think the wheel/rim will have a much bigger impact than the actual hubs, especially with the "real" stuff from opm, momo, sparce etc that use thick (and heavy) aluminium

An aluminium framed wheel is not always going to be heavy. I have the Leoxz XGT Pro that's got an 18mm thick aluminium frame/back plate and it's actually a little bit lighter than my Fanatec McLaren.

Cool. Yeah, that was kind of what I was thinking. Went with the

https://www.fanatec.com/us/en/p/wheel-rims/uh_r330/clubsport-wheel-rim-r330

which seems pretty decent..but since I don’t have any of those other hubs the mind wanders sometimes. Kinda want the 150mm as that’s a little closer to an actual car’s wheel size. However, I told myself no more fanatec purchases until they release pedals. Never would have guessed that to be a years thing lol…. Now that we’re on the cusp of the pedal release, I’m kinda getting an itchy purchasing finger :p

I've been very happy with my DD Pro settings for some time now but new year, new itch....

I'm thinking of playing with my settings and there used to be a thread here where DD GT Pro settings were being discussed, but, for the life of me I can't find it anymore....

Is there still a place where 8NM GT DD Pro settings are discussed for GT7 for Spec III?

Are you also on PMR?

It's here but not been updated for a while. I've not played GT7 since the update so don't even know if my settings need tweaking...

What's PMR?

EDIT! It just dawned on me. Project Motor Racing. Alas no. Unless it has PSVR2 support I'm not interested in any other racing games at present.

I can give you what I currently run if you like. It is not the most detailed (in terms of "fake" feedback) but the weight and feel is consistent with real cars I've driven so it feels natural to me. May not be remotely accurate to what a real race car is like but it is intuitive at least.

OK, so I had found that thread. It was so old though I thought perhaps that was not it. :banghead:

Project motor racing
Ff seems to be very convoluted to configure there, particularly for me at least

I just realized that as we cross posted. Unfortunately not, so I can't help there.

I really like my Clubsport RS rim. 330mm round, solid and has been flawless. Liked it so much I sold my Formula V2.5X wheel (for over double what it cost me !!! :D)
