Well, they look great. Well made. Fantastic quality fastners.

Plugged them in, fired up GT5 and the brake pedal hovers at 5% or so, unless I pull the pedal back.

Is there some sort of calibration they have to go through first?

It's not looking good - if these don't "just work" they are going back.

Try holding the pedals down all the way while you load a track in GT5. I've read that this calibrates them.

Also update to the newest firmware.

What can I say. It is not a surprise that this happens to you as Murphys law is very reliable. Sorry for that.

You can send it back in any case if the work or not. If you like the other wheel better than there is no problem at all to return the products to us without any reason.

If you like to try out the performane of the pedals you can easily update the firmware as described on my blog:
http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/2037

The new firmware has these improvements:

* Select the amount of brake dead zone (down to 0)
* Broader range of adjustment possibility on the brake with the potentiometer

Sounds like the problem is fixable with the firmware update.

Your call if it's a con that they don't come loaded with the newest version.

I just saw that too...pretty lame. I run a 64 bit system and now what?

I too run a 64 bit system, I bet a good number of people on here do.

Hmmm...what now? Might have to pull my old computer out of storage, hassle though. Glad I saved it.

I am getting my Clubsport Pedals from UPS tomorrow, and I can tell you that I can't wait to get them and mes with them. I built the engine in my car with my own two hands, and the same thing that drove me to build the engine has me drooling over these pedals.

Wow, what a long strange trip it's been, and what a bummer of a conclusion.

LOL, that 666 is kinda telling tho, isn't it?

I am going to say straight off that these pedals are without a doubt some of the best made and most solid feeling PC peripheral equipment I have ever seen. Period.

They practically ooze quality.

Proper fastners and solid build. They look the part 110%. It looks and feels the way I expect German engineered equipment to look and feel.

But as you say, Murohy can be a bugger sometimes. I know your guys didnt sit there and decide on purpose to downgrade my pedals before they shipped, but the idea that new stock isnt being upgraded at the source is frustrating.

I am sure that once these are fixed/fiddled/upgraded/manipulated they are going to be an amazing set of equipment, but I dont know if I want to have to fuss with it just to get it basicly work.

The level of sussing an messing about simply adds to the frustration form the get go.

I will take a breather for a while and perhaps at a future time give your obviously well made stuff a try in the future. I just dont feel like messing with it at this time and will take you up on the offer to return the pedals. I am sure there are more than enough people willing to devote the time/effort needed to get them sorted.

When I first mounted the steering wheel I was preparing to apply a small strip of industrial grade adhesive velcro to the bottom of the wheel housing and clumsily dropped the strip sticky side down on the Fanatec product sticker and it got damaged trying to remove the velcro.

I will understand totally that you probably may want to accept the wheel in return because of this. I will eat the expense on this and write it off to experience.

Besides, I still have a shifter on order and when that eventually ships I can pair it with the GT2 wheel and the G25 pedals and just keep it as a backup wheel/pedal set.

Thanks again for all your effort and am sorry for the trouble and ulcers I caused you.

And how crazy is that..? You have to pull an old piece of equipment out of a closet, so that you can update a brand new set of pedals? Come on Fanatec....please tell me this isn't the case and you guys have more in you than that! It's a weak attempt, at best.

I'm going to sleep...this stuff is giving me a headache.

That's interesting that some need a firmware upgrade out if the box. I wonder if this is due to different manufacturing dates? Mine were working perfectly when they came in.

Pitty RC I was looking forward to your thoughts on the ClubSports CS the Thrustmaster.

The firmware is not "new" and certainly not needed for all CSPs. A small number of the pedals just need a bigger deadzone and therefore need this update. It is changed now in production but there are still some of these CSPs in stock. If the update cannot be made we can do it for the customers of course.

Take your time to get used to the brake. A pressure sensitive break works totally different from what you are used to but there is a good reason that the best simracers in the world, like Greger Hutu, are using the CSPs.

We do not need to take the T500RS apart to know how to build good wheels ;)

We set the priorities different as not many people have an unlimited budget. The GT3RS Clubsport edition plus shifter is offered at 349,95 in the USA (will be back in stock soon) and it features full backwards compatibility to all PS3 games, Alcantara, CSPs, a shifter set, tuning functions etc etc.

A good force feedback motor may create a better a better feeling but good pedals make you faster.

It is up to the preferences.

Sure the GT3RSv2 CSP is a great deal... but how about a smokin' deal on the GT2 for us PS3/X360 owners? And how about some ClubSport Shifter info? I need a reason to lose my mind waiting too, dammit!

I think that your company must do this for every set before you sent the pedals and wheels...

So how do we know if our CSP need the newer f/w update, simply by whether or not the brakes show a % of use while not touching them. Is there any other way to check which f/w we have?

I also have ? about the f/w on our GT2? I'm assuming all the new ones being sent out would have the latest 681 but how can we be sure?

Thanks GreekBull.

Haven't had time to check out my CSP yet, tomorrow, hopefully i don't have to fiddle with a f/w update.

Think i'm going to stay out of this thread, i'm starting to think that if i even look at my wheel or pedals it might cause them to not work.

After I got an email from claudia that I'm also affected by this delay I now canceled my order.

Luckily for me I got a T500. So my anger is not so huge.

Thomas....consider that my "wish list" request for 2011. To not only improve the current firmware, but to make it compatible with current technology to allow updates. Not everyone lives in Germany and can just send these things right off to you. Not to mention the fact that people are using older drivers (669, 678) cause the new stuff isn't working....and they're having to use old systems to update. Kind of rediculous.

I got the same email and I'm really disappointed. I sold my G25 and Xbox360 wheel !! :ill:

The worst think is my Clubsports pedals are scheduled next monday. I don't understand why the sent my the CSP and almost a week after they are telling my that I have to wait almost 6 weeks for my wheel, when they said the had GT2 stock when I emailed Claudia a week ago.

As I know the GT2 has problems and they will sent their customers a new production line?

I still get no email about anything and that pisses me off slowly :/ Cant wait another 2 weeks because the CSP and the GT3 is in stock...
