Has anyone received a shipping update on the Rennsport Wheelstand v2?

I am not defending them but they did make it clear that the shipping dates are arrival and add two weeks for customs + a few days for shipping. So Jan 21st + a few days.

Honestly it makes no sense to me for them to do it that way. They should simply say, we expect to have them available on Jan 21st. Saying Jan 7th (but read the fine print) just sets unrealistic expectations.

Yeah, to clarify my complaint above.

I understand the wheelstand shipping timeline. I wasn't expecting that before the 21st. My issue is that I ordered a GT3RS on the webshop which said nothing about it being out of stock. According to Thomas, this means it is in stock. So if they take their sweet time shipping an in-stock item...well then they lose a customer.

I asked Thomas late last week, it said he would update his blog shortly. I will likely follow up Thursday if we don't hear anything. I ordered mine on the 6th.

The Jan 7 date is when it arrives in the US. However there could be shipping delays, add in customs time and delivery to final destination and then delivery to customer.

Regular updates given the circumstances would be very nice. As in Thomas should update if the shipment has indeed arrived and then when it has cleared customs and again when shipping to customers begins.
Technically, Fanatec's still on time with RennSport deliveries. In the blog it says to ad two weeks from the ship date for time in customs. Ship date being the 7th, we've got a little time before we can expect a tracking number. I'm waiting too ;)

I hear you and I am in the same boat. After learning they would not be delivering the GT2 CSE I switched to a GT3 wheel + CSP and stand. So I guess we will see what happens.

Why did you order a GT2 in the first place? It's dearer.
If you changed to a GT3 then Xbox compatibility is not an issue.

Not having ago, but quite a few have changed from GT2 to a GT3. I'm confused.

I liked the package as a whole and xbox compatibility seemed like a good idea for future possibilities. However the uncertainty of when it would actually be available helped me change my mind.

Keep in mind I had over a month to think about it... :dopey:

Exactly. I also want to see how this year fleshes out for wheels and the 360. Surely with the discontinuation of the wireless crap wheel and the upcoming Forza4, there will possibly be a new wheel...maybe even a Logitech? I really hope that their new idea for a new wheel is not the Kinect:ill:

You guys, this is insane. How many things have we all ordered on-line and had at our doorsteps within 2 weeks.......at the very latest.

If the wheel stands were delivered to the US on Jan 7th, as stated, they should be at our doorsteps now or at the very least en-route. We should not be waiting to get a tracking number that may or may not be accurate, not waiting for a blog post with info that might change at the drop of a hat. Not comforting ourselves with "well it may take 2 weeks for shipping confirmation....that's acceptable" (it's not).

No more excuses! This company is not trust-worthy or reliable, call what it is. Be honest.

Sorry Fanatec but to me every aspect of you company is deplorable, terribly managed & poorly executed.

Worst part is, there is no other company that makes a good multi-console wheel, so we will continue to wait on what may turn out to be a buggy, fickle product that needs more nurturing and care than a new born infant.

Instead of racing cockpits we should all buy babys cribs ;-)

Canceled my order. My only business with Fanatec from now on will be if I have issues with my CSPs...unless they make some dramatic changes to their business front-end. But, I expect the CSPs to be a high-quality product from what has been reported. Once the PC drivers are out I may have to go with the T500, CSPs, and my new shiny Lightning SST.

Just get an email that my GT3 CS has been sent. But no tracking infos... The email says "we just received your payment and sent your article"... They got my money since 2-3 weeks (payed with paypal)... And they say the shippment can take up to 1 week...

Whatever, finally they have sent it after 3 weeks, even though it was in stock... still can´t understand why they needed 3 weeks to sent it...

Is there a Warwickshire, USA, or are the dates on Thomas's blog all screwed up?

I'm hoping they're not screwed up, because originally their site said late December on the V2's for the US. I'm hoping these things ship by the end of this week like they stated.

I had an email before Xmas stating that the first batch of Rennsports (eu) would be arriving in Germany at the end of December and they expected to ship them the 3rd week of January, so it's all gone exactly as they said it would.

I suspect it's the second shipment that arrives 21st this month and those will be for the more recent orders.

Once again, not defending Fanatec, but I think it is a little different than that. I *assume* they have their Chinese manufacturer deliver to their US, Ca warehouse and then Fanatec ships out to costumers from there. I assume the 2 weeks for customs is the processing of the Chinese shipment.

The other stuff you mention is right on though.

Thanks for the clarification. I wish fanatec would've made this clear.

Well I decided I couldn't wait and put in an order for a GT3 RS V2 and CSP last tuesday, has arrived today (in the UK), so I'm pretty happy. All working ok at the moment so lets hope it stays that way! So far I'm happy with my experience with Fanatec.

Finally able to play A spec on GT5, have only played b-spec since getting it a month ago! Having only ever used a DS2 back in the ps2 days it completely changes the game, so much more immersive. And I've golded the first few licenses already.

And for anyone wondering about shipping in Europe, when it actually ships you'll get an email from UPS with the tracking number, which becomes active once it's actually been shipped.

The CSP are available again? I went to put my order in last week for a GT2 and CS pedals but the CS pedals weren't listed. Sent them an email and they replied pretty quick saying the pedals were back ordered until end of January. Soon as they are available I'm making the plunge for GT2 CS edition + Rennsport wheel stand. 👍

For the sake of carbon paddle shifters I'd order it all separately right now because who knows how long you'll be waiting for the CS edition to come back on the website...

Got my GT2 and CSP today.

It took me quite a while to get it set up and there were some things that I loved and some things that I hated in the setup process.

The CSP are as expected, really amazing and the GT2 wheel is working really well also.

I don't really love the look or feel of the wheel itself, I'm more of a momo, thin, leather racing wheel kind of guy but it's not that big of a deal.
I do think the feedback effects are kind of softened somehow through the feel of the alcantera and the thickness of the rim. I drive an mx5 and use a momo wheel similar to the G25 look and I love how you can really feel the car through the wheel.
While the GT2 feels great so far it feels almost as if the FFB effects are a little muffled. (thats the only way I can explain it)

It really is a nice wheel though. It takes some time to get used to changing modes and settings but now that I have the hang of it everything is working properly. I can see how someone could misread or ignore the instructions and think their product is broken.

I like the smoothness of the FFB too. The wheel can be totally solid and then you lose your grip a bit and have to jerk the wheel back and it will not resist you in an unrealistic way. It really feels nice for drifting or correcting out of a spin.

Anyways, going to go mess around with the settings in GT5 and see how I can get it to feel.

:ill: Order seperatly. From all accounts it will go smoother that way. :)

What's crazy is that I ordered my turbo s wheel the day it was released for pre order and their customer support has not improved at all in that 2 year peroid.

Separate orders will make a bigger dent in your wallet or purse (are there any females on here?) because of the shipping costs. I guess that's the price to pay for urgency.

I have a GT2 and Clubsport pedals and am in sim racing heaven. One thing I did for GT 5 was to set the dead zone to 20 or 30. Without that, I found that the GT2 tends to shake during fast straights. For my Xbox 360 games, I found that no dead zone was needed because there is no shaking.

Hey i hear on the "I can see how someone could misread or ignore the instructions and think their product is broken".

There are lots of button combo's to remember, almost like the old street fighter game. :)

I am really enjoying my GT2 and CSP. Still trying to figure out all of this tuning and what not, great feature to have though.

So I've had several hours with the wheel and CSP now.

I really do like it, but I think the FFB is not as strong as the G25. When I spin out a car in the G25 it could go from locked on one side to opposite lock pretty quickly and with enough force that I hurt my hand a few times.

With the GT2 the wheel never seems to feel like its going to pull out of my hands like when you're in a real car and you over-correct in a drift and it rips the wheel out of your hands.

WIth iRacing it's really a joy though. I notice a lot more subtle force feedback from the road. in GT5 the FFB is actually a little flat. YOu don't get a lot of feedback when you're just driving on a normal surface.

I don't have my G25 anymore so I can't say for sure if it's less feedback or not.

How do you have the wheel mounted?
