Aside from the looks, which are clearly very different. What are the main differences between the wheels. They have the same base, same compatibility etc, so why buy a CSR over the GT2? What are the key improvments?

Paddle shifters
ergonomic grips at 9&3 instead of 10&2
Blue LED
lighter rim
better button placement
better buttons
revised parts

It seems like its a matter of taste. LickitySplit didnt really answer the questions with facts, just opinions.

The only real details I can find on the improvements is "improved electronics". Whatever that means.

Personally, I like the GT2. I like the paddle shifters that dont "click". I know others like the clicky like the ones on the CSR.

Basically look at the rim, and decide what would YOU would feel more comfortable with. A Porsche style wheel, or a more Race style wheel. Either way, I am sure you would be happy.

Some reviews that I have read on the new CSR wheel state exactly what LickitySplit mentioned. Better button placement, lighter rim, revised and updated parts, hand placement at 9 & 3 instead of 10 & 2, comes with much improved paddle shifters...

So I would say his post was right on.

Not to mention that the rim can be swapped out with another style later on.

I've only driven one car with paddle shifters in real life and it had a solid click to each shift. I prefer that myself. My G25 does it fairly well. My Microsoft wheel does not.

Well again those things are opinions. Some like clicky, some dont. Someone might like hand placement at 10 & 2. Do you see? Some like the button placement of one over the other. Those are opinions.

Thats why I said it was PREFERENCE.

And you are wrong. The wheel rim cannot be swapped out. That is the CSR Elite, and Clubsport Wheel.

Chill on the caps and what not, Amish didn't personally attack you or anything. Besides, Lickity posted mostly facts.

Paddle shifters = It does have paddle shifters
ergonomic grips at 9&3 instead of 10&2 = Fact
Blue LED = Fact
lighter rim = Fact
better button placement = Opinion (Most people would agree they're better)
better buttons = Fact
revised parts = Fact

One other thing I would like to point out is that if you have a Porsche wheel with clubsport paddle shifters like I do on my PWTS there is a dead-zone area where if you pull there it won't shift. Usually happens to me only when my wheel is fully inverted in a corner, but I believe there is no dead-zone on the CSR paddle shifters. I don't have one to test though as I'm waiting for the CSR Elite.

And I am not personally attacking Amish. Maybe you need to chill? Wound up tight, much?

And what I was saying, is the OP's last question is what are the key improvements. Again, besides the rim that is personal taste, the only "improvments" I can find are upgraded electorics. Thats very vague.

And others have found more improvements than that.

Right, and others still like the rim of the GT2 over the CSR. So besides the rim, the base of the CSR (shared with the GT2) has improved electronics. The other stuff is called preference.

Not sure why people want to make opinions facts.

That's entirely your opinion. I think it's fact that the new buttons are better quality and placed where someone with hands bigger than a petite ladies won't run the risk of accidentally hitting them with their palm in hectic situations which has happened to me a few times. There's a reason they don't change the buttons on the gamepads and I for one am glad to see the tried and true format returning to Fanatec wheels.

If the new paddle shifters have no deadzone like the clubsport paddle shifters suffer, then that to is a definite improvement regardless of your feelings on haptic feel.

Wound up people use caps and write things like:

Do you see?

Its cool, we're all on the same team here.

Key improvements don't have to be facts, but they can be. And it is a fact that this has better buttons for console use, new parts, bigger vents for cooling, and that the paddle shifters are better quality.

Its also a fact that the wheel is lighter allowing for faster inputs, has a blue LED thats easy to read, ergonomic grips at 9 & 3, along with a few other things. Also, on the downside, my wheel whines when used with my xbox and won't save my settings. Its being addressed, but it sucks right now.

It is your own and everyone's opinions about those facts that create key improvements and the best comparisons between the two wheels.

Right. So saying I like a heavier wheel, Red LEDS (that are easy to read), my grips at 10 & 2, and the feel of alcantera over the entire wheel, and the placement of the buttons on the TurboS and GT2, and no click sound on the paddles, then what are the improvements?

Do you see what I am getting at when I say the improvements are preference, aside from the (as you mentioned bigger vents), and improved electroincs?

Exactly, you took the facts from the wheel you like and formed your own opinions on them. In your assessment they are not improvements. Not arguing with your opinion, just the approach and presentation.

Those are not my opnions to be honest. I cannot give an opinion since I dont have a CSR wheel. I only have the GT2. Point being improvments are relative to the user.

I have neither... And between the two, I'd go for the CSR before the GT2 simply because of the button placement and the control stick appear to be much easier to use. To me I'd be right at home going from a WRW to a CSR, where as the GT2 would involve learning where the buttons are.

Good point. Going from the DFGT and MS Wheel to the GT2 the button layout threw me off. Eventually I got used to it of course.

Personally, I would go for the CSR if I had to choose again, just for the looks. I can always adjust to button layouts.

Can you buy a table clamp with or do you get one when you purchase a Fanatec wheel? The only thing I have seen on those wheels are holes to permenantly fix them, I don't want to drill holes in my rig !

I'm on my second Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel and if this one brakes i'm going to go for a Fanatec CSR.

You get a table clamp with the CSR. Some people have complained about them not being strong enough, but mine works great. The CSR also has to option of being hard mounted.
