I just hooked up this setup for the first time. The wheel seems to work but no acceleration when I hit the gas. Anyone know what the heck is going on?

GIGO, we need more info. Are you racing PC? Console? Using paddle shifters? Separate shifter? What game? Pedals plugged into wheel or PC?

Hmm, you say you have no acceleration; so the gas pedal doesn't work at all? Cuz if you don't get any acceleration/speed there's no reason for the transmission to shift. You do have the pedals plugged into the wheel and not the PS3, right?

you are correct. the pedals are plugged into the wheel. when I hit the gas, the car just stays in 1st gear, but it's a very sluggish first gear with very low rpms...

Can you plug in to PC, open the device properties/settings screen and check to see if the pedals are reading correctly? You could possibly have a bad gas pedal switch.

Ok, I will try this and let you know.

If you do try that method and it still fails you will need a video of it with the profiler showing. It's a Fanatec requirement.

Right, and then contact Fanatec by email and send your info and the video, they will take care of it if that is the problem.

Well gents, I got off work and tried it again and the problem seemed to have fixed itself. Maybe a loose connection or something. Now all I need is a longer ps/2 cable to hook up my shifter since the one they send is only 4 inches long. It is absolutely awesome driving in my rSeat EVO V3 as opposed to a tv tray!!! Ahh, life is good!

Glad it's working for you finally. Most of the time we tend to overlook the simple stuff like that. Sometimes a little wiggle will fix a bad cable connection. Check that all your cables are plugged in fully and especially the 2-piece cable at the joint where it connects cable to cable. I have mine reinforced with cable ties so it's held securely fastened and can't accidentally be pulled apart (toddler-proofing). Also, I have had an issue once where the wheel went haywire and reinstalling the firmware solved that problem.
