I just took delivery of the CSL Elite Porsche Vision GT this week and also converted to the QR2 wheel base adapter. Problem solved.
I updated to the current firmware and most of the controls are recognized by GT but not all of them.
The blue native mode identifies it as a Fanatec GT DD Pro / Extreme and the purple compatibility mode sees it as a Fanatec CSL Elite Racing Wheel. It would be nice if it identified it correctly and all of the functionality was available.

Tomorrow I will try mapping it on Assetto Corsa
Blue mode for GT7 is correct - but GT7 does not specifically recognize any wheels but the extreme/pro to configure directly. On the PVGT all controls but the bottom rotary knobs will work in GT7 if the installed FW is working right, unlike the latest FW which broke the rim encoders for the DD+

The knobs are not currently supported - that is down to PD and their current wheel support

Those will work in ACC, either as up/down or can be set directly using MPS mode on the wheel set to CONSTANT and mapping each position directly in ACC

Fanatec Porsche Vision GT Wheel Review

Fanatec has just lifted the covers off the Fanatec CSL Elite Steering Wheel Porsche Vision GT, and we’ve got our hands on one for a full review...
Hi, sorry for my English. I bought this steering wheel, but I can't figure out how to adjust the lower control arms with the numbers. And is it even possible to reconfigure the buttons? I'm not very familiar with the terminology yet and the correct names for the buttons on the steering wheel.

The bottom knobs w the numbers are not recognized in GT at this time - hopefully they will fix that someday

In GT7 you’ll have to go to the controller/wheel page under options - and select the WHEELBASE model you are using (DD Pro, DD+ DD2) as that is where you set the buttons - you will NOT see the Porsche wheel displayed

The quick guide shows which buttons on the PVGT wheel map to which PS or PC buttons - match the button you wish to configure to the matching button displayed on the wheelbase page - X to X etc - and use the pull down to set which function you want

The rotary knobs are fixed in GT7 - the top left is fuel, bottom left TC, top right is Brake balance, lower right adjusts whatever HUD display is active and the rotation of the F logo hat switch does the same - these are fixed and cannot be changed

In PC or other games the in game button mapping pages will set any controls which that game may recognize which may not be all of them

Thank you so much for such a detailed answer! I'm just starting to figure all this out, and your words really saved me.

Glad that helped. Also the Fuel knob and Brake balance knob will not be active in GT7 unless you are in a race w fuel usage set or a car w a brake balance controller installed

Yes, I noticed that. I thought something was broken.

I bought this wheel and returned it. It isn’t as comfortable as the DD GT Pro wheel because of the flat thumb rest mentioned in many reviews, and because the material feels weird without gloves. It also dampens the force feedback, which is no bueno for an 8nm wheelbase.
